I met Chris after the KFD gig in Wolverhampton UK. He was the most honest, polite and down to earth bloke I have ever met - proper salt of the earth! Had time to talk with the fans etc etc. Unlike someone else who clearly was having a monumentally bad night when he stormed out of the building and onto the bus... Chris said "...I just wanna play..." And you could tell he lived for every moment on stage! I was down the front getting drenched by his sweat during Animal and it fucking ROCKED!!!! Chris -You and Angus Young are the reasons I started playing guitar and 35 years later am still playing!!! Never fucking stop dude. You are a veteran who shall never die in our hearts! Best wishes from the UK. Ade.
I love Chris but get him a singer. Glad the dude is still around!
I'll sing for him if he'll have me
@Martin Doll I don't listen to auto tune singers
maybe he doesnt want a singer, so they dont try to take the publish or watver its called, roya ties?
You're right. Love the guy but that voice ain't workin great
Exactly my thought
ICON . ; )
YOU ARE THE REASON IM IN A BAND TO DAY
He’s getting better with every record.
Man he's as real as it gets. An 80s icon for sure. A relic of days gone by and he seems cool with that. Wishing Chris health and peace.
Music from the 80's is still the best Music.
Always loved Chris Holmes! Glad he is back!
Chris is right, it's horrible how the rock scene diminished in the US. Going through the 90's was like being punished for something you didn't do but eventually Heavy Metal bands started slowly coming back around but that depended where you lived, back then if you wanted to see a band live many times you would have to drive over an hour from home. It eventually got somewhat better in time, in the late 90's/early 2000's we'd have to drive to North Jersey from Philadelphia because many times bands were not getting booked here, the Metal scene was always way better in north Jersey then in Philadelphia. We made that trip dozens of times, I lost count. Unfortunately, as a whole Rock/Metal seems to be doing much better outside of the US. I'm jealous when I see the huge crowds in other countries versus what's happening here. It's mind-blowing how that happened.
Always a fan of this guy.....cool til the end
Good to see Chris is still around.
His tone is so recognizable I love it!! Got to play with Chris back in 2003 and he’s still got it, Definitely one of the best!!
Great guitarist, and great person!!!!
Hell Yeah Chris do your thing your oldschool fans are still behind you. Kill the game🔥
Awesome!! Very skillful. Flow is EXCELLENT!!!! Fun stuff. I hope you take care of yourself so I can enjoy this for years to come. I salute you /```
I saw Chris at Tink's in Scranton, Pa. when he got back together with WASP. He kicked ass !!! Rock on Chris. 🤘

Some day when the time is right I will travel Europe with relocating in my mind. Being a rock guitar guy I can say it aint happening in the US. Good to see Chris staying active. The guy is a guitar monster.
Keep kicking ass Chris
Great to see Chris still doing it ,absolute maniac
I can’t wait to hear this .. his voice is better each album & the guitars sound amazing on this .. the recording studio may get the best out of Chris’s sound. Can’t help but love this guy! .. I don’t go to many gigs now .. but I’m gonna get my ass off the sofa & go see him.
Chris, you are the man!!!

Chris is definitely playing and writing with sincerity. The stuff he's doing on his own is absolutely real. It's not great but I actually like it more because there's nothing fake about what Chris Holmes is up to nowadays.
I agree 100% with everything u said about Chris..he has s passion about what he does..makes him soo down to earth..
Go on Chris keep rocking.
Awesome interview .Chris have finally found his own musical voice. Sound raw and cool ☺🎸🎶❤
Can't wait for the ep
Still the same Chris I remember when we were kids back in Glendale.. :)
You know Chris Holmes?
@@jakeganey7032 Yes I do.. :)
I am looking forward to hearing new stuff from Chris!
Cannot wait as well! Chris Holmes ROCKS!
Fuck the haters, Keep on rockin' Chris. You will always be one of my main influences.
This sounds really good! Good to see Chris is still kicking ass.
This guys guitar tones, and leads, were what made the first few WASP albums jump out at me. (Of course alongside Blackies voice/vocals) But as a guitar player, holy shit, that was mind blowing to me! Chris STILL has the same sound! Thank you Mr Holmes for all the inspiration over the years!
He gets that sound with a wet dry rig. One amp normal distorted signal the other amp distortion plus reverb
Play and sing the way to want too. It sounds like you and the way you want it. Keep on Rockin!!!!!!
Love you man💪🔥respect
Man, Chris is just the most down to earth Good Guy! He seems like someone I'd hang out with Every day!
there is so much pain iside both of them chris and blackie.
I love Chris i'm glad that he doing will with his music career and put W.A.S.P behind him. Rock on Chris.
I like you Chris. I can say after being a long hair metal head and guitarist I know there is a God. God never changed, we did and do all the time. I studied it and there is A God. Bless you and peace to ypu.
Chris has a really likeable personality and he's badass
Fuck yah!!! Keep on rockin Mr. MEAN MAN Youngstown, Ohio
It’s like saying that guitar built its self and is playing itself!!
Too be honest I have been trashing him lately..but the more I watch him the more I see a Motorhead style music !!! Idk but I think he is going too do well!!!
Gotta love the Holmes.
I enjoyed this interview. I will keep buying then until he stops
Kickin Ass!🤘
A Hollywood Babylon legend
Chris Holmes is a really good guy.
That Jackson is sweet!
chris a guitar god and true musician long live chris
keep rocking sexy
Holmes was so badass in wasp.. the guy was a great rock star I always felt.. he just did it right I thought..
The Neil Young of Meeeeetal!
yes chris!!!
He's iconic and a true person .he's kinda like Lemmy playing guitar. One of the nicest cool guys I ever met.
I would love to see a gear review. Chris has always had a killer guitar sound. Buying this album. Can’t Waite.
I just saw this video. Great that after WASP he found his place in France.🇫🇷.
I don't go to shows anymore. I had my part in the 80s and 90s but seeing Chris live again in my town I would go.
I don't live far away in Belgium 😀
Chris is amuch underated guitarist - maybe not as gifted as george lynch or jake e lee - his 80s peers - but a tasteful fiery axeman in his own right - always loved his playing
Keep doing it Chris!
He's spot on about American live venues not being around any longer... I've got to confess I was one of those that gave Chris a hard time and wasp after that interview because of how he was with his mum...little did I and many others know the shit upbringing he had at the hands of his mum....so Chris I apologise and it's GRT to see you still going and getting even better...will be keeping an eye out for him coming to the UK,maybe the Tivoli or Wrexham which has GRT acoustics....
Man he can play glad to see him doing great wish W.A.S.P would get together with Chris& Rod"🤘🤘🤘
Chris is great, he just does his thing, play mean man heavy metal, love it!
That signiture guitar tone is stek´llar, it was what defined WASP, that together with Blackies unique amazing voice.
Too bad Blackie was a douche concerning Chris =/
Yes, Chris should play guitar and do backing vocals =)
There can be no WASP without Chris Holmes and of course Blackie Lawless!!!!
I didn't know David Allen Coe was so metal....
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😄🎈😄🎈😄🎈😄🎈😄🎈😄🎈😄🎈😄🎈😃
He's had that beat up Yellow Jackson since at least the first WASP record
That is an iconic instrument!!!!!
PLEASE tour the US just once more!!! PLEASE!!!
Man I cant believe he's never gotten royalties from WASP.
If his name is in the songwriting credits he should get some cash. And his name is in some early albums (and those are the only albums that sold millions) so yes it looks like he should get royalties from the albums that actually sold lots of copies.
@@sirmrguitardude Actually album covers that give songwriting credits dont mean anything legally. It depends on the contract that is signed.
Chris didn't read the contract, he basically did what many of us would have done , just signed. He had no idea they had him listed as a session guitarist. Never got one royalty
cool!
One of the GREATEST guitar players EVER!!!!!!! The ALMIGHTY Chris Holmes!!!!! He's right metal is dead in the USA. Its all shit garbage like rap, r&b, motown shit!!!!!!
I feel America failed him .how can one person give so much in the music world of the LA Hollywood scene and be forgotten .it's criminal.just watch how this guy performed at shows. He would bring it hard.
Blinkin heck !: my first immiediate thought on seeing the cover of "Under the Influence" was.....Turin Shroud !??
This motherfucker is Rock N Roll and always has been. Hope he cut the meth out finally (he looks really good!). Top 5 favorite guitarist of all time
If its one thing chris and blackie do agree on this days,is that they never play on US soil anymore, they get better offers elsewhere, especially in the hard rock scene in europe
its better and better ,
I'm glad Chris is still flying the flag and taking it to the mountain. It's nice to hear him admit to being an atheist , sometimes it can be hard to come out of the closet about atheism, but in 2020 that is slowly starting to change.
Cool Guy
Where did all his guitars end up
I used to always confuse Chris and Robbin Crosby from Ratt during the 80's. They looked alot alike to me.
Back in the 80s they did look a lot alike. Very much so. However, looking at Chris now vs back 30 years ago, wow. It's clear he lived hard and fast. That's a drastic difference in his appearance. I know everyone ages, but Blackie doesn't look that much different, and neither do a lot of the guys from back in that era (most are just a little fatter and have some more gray hair). Chris looks like a completely different human being.
@@maxxxmodelz4061 I don't know Blackie hasn't aged very well at all
@@LOTPOR0402 Perhaps, but you8 could still look at him now and know it's Blackie. Chris looks unrecognizable.
Did this ever come out? Don't see it anywhere.
Nice to see Chris as a 'survivor'. Why did he leave WASP initially
anyway?
According to Chris, Blackie wasn't paying him any album royalties which forced Chris to get a job in construction
just to pay the bills. Some interviews state that Chris' hands were roughed up from the construction work which created
even further problems when it came to studio work when called upon by Blackie.
Around that time, Chris also refused to play/record "Hold on to my Heart" which Blackie originally intended to be on The
Headless Children record (in my opinion, that decision was probably for the best - Headless was perfect without it).
After The Headless Children tour, Chris left the band (after years of rumors), Blackie fired the rest of the band, went
solo and put out The Crimson Idol with Hold On To My Heart finally added.
@@j.m.ziadeh3021 cheers for that
WASP was a great band. I'm 49 now which is old AF. How did I/we get here? Time. Fun fact: Axl Rose obsessed over WASP. I honestly thought Chris Holmes was dead. I would have bet money he was. Maybe it was the "Decline of western civilization tapes" which put that in my head. Not sure.
Yeah! I’ve told so many of my friends that gnr stole their guitar tone from wasp.
Wasp were the better of the two bands allbeit different WASP were the best heavy /hair band to come out of America
That's some funny shit. Chris talking; ' There's no Heaven there's no Hell God's not real' cut to Chris singing, The Devil made me do it. Lmao
They call that a studio ?? Looks like a little mixing board and two monitors ,,in some dudes garage to me??
Ummm, how did Chris not have his publishing taken care of, did he not have an entertainment lawyer?
Got a Motorhead vibe at 3:55
Sounds like the Mentors.
