  • I'm down at Aeros Flight Training Coventry learning to fly the Diamond DA42, Multi-Engine Piston. In this lesson we look at the differences in operating the aircraft after an engine failure and how to fly on a single engine and then we recover back to Coventry for circuits. The DA42 is such a dream to fly!

    Why do you guys tell tower you have gear down? Is that a UK thing?

    I've really enjoyed your CPL videos, Ben and congratulations on your achievements. The DA42 looks like a joy to fly compared to older, traditional twins like the "steam gauge" Aztec I did my twin rating on many years ago! Whats the hourly rate in the UK?

      The G1000 is real good for partial panel lol. When you fail the PFD still have full attitude indications of the standby indicatior. It’s nothing like dosing partial panel on a steam gauge aircraft.

    Really enjoyed that, thanks. On those FADEC piston engines do you have the ability to feather the dead prop? as its only a single power lever ?

    • @PlaneOldBen
      @PlaneOldBen  5 років тому +1

      It’s feathered automatically as long as you’re within the RPM range for it to do so.

      Engine master off will feather the prop above 1,300RPM

    Hi Ben, you mention in your last cpl video that the allowances over set parameters are stricter in the cpl (you said +-100ft of assigned altitude) how dose that compare to ppl alowences in terms of being away from assiged items such as airspeed, heading track, glideslope ils indications ect?
    Thanks!

    I'm so glad you didn't respond to the report of traffic as you were on the take off roll during your T&Gs. Another good episode Ben.

      I made a video not too long ago about what’s involved in the CPL training that should help! From my experiences they’ve been absolutely great and couldn’t do enough to help.
