Rewind to 2017 and England travel to Cardiff to face Wales in what proved to be one of the most dramatic finishes to a game in recent Six Nations history.
Was in a bar in wales for this, they laughed when we lost possession, they weren't laughing a minute later. Me and my mates took the piss so much that night

It is disgraceful that England does not have a anthem that is their own, the crowd might sing with more enthusiasm if they singing to support England and not the monarch.
Interesting to see how much more powerful England have become over two years and how much more effective in attack. Most of tries in 2019 score by moving ball to the wing away from the pile of forwards rather than hammering at the line and kicking game more varied and effective at gaining ground.
This was 3 years ago and I still remember exactly what happens. I knew daly was gonna miss that second kick. I knew we were gonna turn over that scrum on the 5 metres 28 mins in
At the time I remember thinking we would lose this game, Wales at home and we had so many payers out through injury; Mako, Billy, Manu, Watson, Kruiz. But god damn did we pull together and push till the very end. Wales were great competition.
I was at this game and behind the goal where England won the game. It still sickens me every time I see Jonathan Davies kick the ball into the field of play. Whilst Wales lost, I still think it's one of the most sintillating matches I've seen. The whole game was immense, the tackling was ferocious and effort from both sides was superb. It could've gone either way but on the day Wales lived on scraps and England's decision making was far better. Brian Moore reiterated numerous times after Liam Williams scored his try, that England may regret missing a penalty and conversion, but Wales throwing away 3 easy penalties in the first half proved crucial. With the number of tackles they made being so many more than England I'm amazed there weren't many injuries. Great game, shame about the result.
I think we should see England vs NZL 2018 autumn international, a brilliant game but with a controversial ending. Should have been a try but can that be the next full match.
@@somanytakennames this is a popular take, but the hindmost All Black was not properly bound to the ruck, therefore the ball was out and there was no offside line for Lawes to be in front of. Try should have stood.
Man of the match selection... Jonathan Davies thinks "well we have to choose Joe launchberry... but ill name aboit 5 other Welsh names because I bum them so much"
sadly having two parents who were rugby referees and then referee assessors and trainers, I can get frustrated at how inconsistent top tier refs can be. several times I hear the ref say leave it wales only to them let them have the turn over while not doing the same for england. fortunately in this game the right team won in my opinion but its not always the case when some refs seem to have one set of rules for one team and a different set for the other.
I took far too much pleasure in this result, after suffering 80 minutes of the most biased Welsh commentary. How Jonathan Davies is still a professional pundit is beyond me. Well done, England.
56:23 Cant believe Daly wasnt called for the offside here. The ref yells ruck and he ends up on the Welsh side of it, surely he has to get back on the English side before making that intercept
This Wales and the 2019 Gatland machine are night and day. They hardly attack the breakdown (except AWJ and Warburton), allowing England the quick ball they value so much, their kicking game isn't taking advantage of the space in the English defense, and that scrum around minute 26 would never have happened nowadays. They would have kicked the 3. It's interesting that their attack is so much more interesting but the other aspects of their game suffered, whereas 2019 Wales were criticised for being boring in attack but their defense nowadays is so much better and they won the 20(19?) Six Nations even though they scored the least tries, because they go for all the points they can get.
@@WalesTheTrueBritons Cheeky bugger! Ha, the 2017 game is a great test match, neck and neck till the very end. We might meet again this year by all accounts!
Watching this whole thing just to see Dan Biggars reaction from that England try at the end was 100% worth it :)
Did it involve flapping? Just a hunch.

Harry Brown I was in Cardiff for the 2019 game - not so much fun that time 😂

Edit: Alun Wyn Jones singing the anthem is spine tingling.
I agree, I think it's the best national anthem

Yeah i agree we came on leaps and bounds in two years..

What a brilliant line ran by Liam Williams to score that try

Back. Come. England!
My favourite Six Nations moment.
Liam Williams turnover @1:31:20 is so blatantly illegal, good thing karma worked quickly in this case
My favourite win by England 😊
Daly is an awesome player.
He is - he has set up more tries for England than I've had hot dinners

Supporting England, I was there with my Welsh father 😌

Sam Underhill is cursed, never to score against the ABs.
Unfortunately it wasn't a try. If the offside rules around the ruck hadn't changed after the Italy game, it would have been.

Man, I yelled SO loud when Daly scored.
"Hes offside Ben Youngs" replay shows him clearly onside
However the Welsh defensive line spent virtually the entire match offside, and nobody mentions it.
Genuinely don’t think Joe Launchbury has ever had a bad game for England
I think Launchbury suffers slightly from being "not quite as good as Itoje and Lawes" but yes agree that he never puts in a bad shift.
