- Digging around the old homesite out in the woods with our metal detectors we had found this old deserted place. There is just a small footprint where a house was and a stone well. This is our fourth visit relic hunting this location and it has been very good with Colonial finds up into the mid 1800s including old coins. Well I swung my Fisher F9 over a mud 70s signal and started digging and out pops a bell the likes we have never seen ! wow wait till you see this one. The place has been deserted and overgrown for more than a 150 years so you know when you dig up stuff it is really old. It is an interesting place with no cellar hole but no doubt it was a farm house with all the rock walls and stacked rocks around.

Amazing bell. I see similar bells on line identified as cat or animal bells. It would be amazing if that bell came from a family pet of the folks that were there 200+ years ago.

That little bell could have very well been worn around the neck of some livestock. I have an old cow bell that was made by my two or three times great grandfather, who was a blacksmith. Bells helped the farmers keep track of their animals, especially in areas which were hilly or not easily seen.

The bell is absolutely amazing what era do you think thats from? Everytime I see that Teknetics Detector pop up on your video it takes me back to the late 70's and my first detector a bright red all analogue Teknetics beast that was a great machine 😊 Man I miss being able to get out and land fish.
