Combat experience means nothing. Most of the combat experience I have seen out of the US forces is shooting goat herders and kicking in farmers doors. You need combatants that don't have their own idea of war. This war is not Afghanistan or Iraq. They were weak forces compared to the US military. You should let Men come forward and get the experience of war.

I would go join and train and go in I’m willing to die I don’t want too die and will be a good soldier I’ve just went the wrong direction in life and wish I would have joined the Canadian army in the 90s well I was long story short I got jumped and I was the person that went to jail so I couldn’t join but I did do what we call the black bear program when I was 17-18-19 then I got jumped and ended up in jail but was the one beaten up by 5 men and big men all well over 200lbs and always fighting it was a one on one fight I won’t the one on one then they jumped me that was my dream was to join the Canadian army or the USA marines I’m First Nations so I can join both but with the criminal record I count join either

They would rather train a civilian ukrainian than a foreigner that might bail at any time. Thats why they dont want foreigners without military experience

Most people who joined in the beginning didn't have combat experience, that's why most of them either got killed or went home after their first engagement or are sitting away from the front lines somewhere. It ain't like the movies or video games.

There are ways to go fight, if you do your research, ultimaly do whatever you can to get your foot in the door if you cant find a way into the ILDU, start with aid or something, youll have better chances that way. But dont waste their time if your heart isn't in it %110. That's the reason why they stopped taking people.

nope, i’ve tried to sign up for ukraines foreign legion. was ultimately denied because combat experience is mandatory, and i don’t have any.

@FANOFWAR34 Just go to Ukraine and go direct to the legion. They gonna let u in. Got friends there, and they say i will get in the legion as soon as they meet me. They need to see that you dont panic under stress and also takes care of your brothers
Not combat experience right now but if Russia almost wins I'm sure Ukraine trying to recruit many as they can for manpower

Honestly if you didn’t have the right AIT you should stay at home, without proper utilization of communication and coordination you are only dead weight. But with all that said, even if you have finished both BCT and AIT in the proper fields, I’d still recommend going for into an actual Mercenary Company/Legion. As you’d be better equipped, better pay, and more experienced BLUFOR with you.

I have once ended up in a combat when I tried to put on T-shirt in morning.
I see that this old Short from 2022 is still getting attention and comments. At present, the words you hear spoken out are irrelevant. The Legion's policy now allows people with or without military experience to apply, and we have many foreign volunteers in training who come from civilian background.
They need to change that policy. There are plenty of former servicemen without combat experience who would be more than willing to do it.

A US Army Tank mechanic with 10 years prior active duty experience would be turned down because he hasn't been to a "combat" zone ? A " Volunteer ? What about a US Airforce Pararescue man with 8 years experience, but no direct combat experience ? Are you losing so badly, that once you get off an international flight a pickup truck meets you on the tarmac and drives you to the battle front with no orientation ? Wow ! Very Sad ! 😢 We'll be praying for you ! 🙏

Well its mainly due to unit deployment they just don't wanna spend money but still have enough vets they can just not accept people without combat experience and still be brimming to capacity its just is their logistics ready.

The people saying “they’re picky” it is very clear that you understand nothing about combat. Dozens of idiot volunteers with no experience have gone AWOL, caused numerous issues for the legion. If you think they’re being picky then you’e delusional, they are simply taking the BARE MINIMUM precautions.

Biggest mistake for not planning ahead. Those guys that have live combat experience, half of them are dead. Can only wonder where their reserves are coming from considering this is a war of attrition.

This is totaly stupide! I have exsperience as combat Medic from afghanistan. But i see realy the value in get training people with a HUGE motivation. And there is many people that can be used in many many other position than the front line!!

Funny thing is alot of Americans that have combat experience have already left Ukraine because they are not used to this kind of combat they are used to just fighting ordinary men with ak rifles not artillery tanks and so on so mybe you should let people in with no combat experience but know how to use a weapon well
The International Legion is accepting all volunteers, the only requirements are age, good health and physical fitness, no criminal record and legal entry into the country. This old footage from June'22 is no longer relevant.
