There’s something very intoxicating about Arctic/Far North/Remote locations. There isn’t a lot to do, but there’s a lot for your soul to take in and enjoy. The peace, the quiet, nature, beautiful landscape and sceneries, such a different world up there as compared to big city living. I think it’s that difference that the most enticing thing about the idea of visiting somewhere like Svalbard. I came close to the Arctic a few weeks ago when i was in Iceland. I loved every moment of the trip. Next time i go back ill go over to Greenland
I forget about everything and become immersed in your videos. What a wonderful experience to get away and relax with Christoffer and your besties Lynn and Grim.❤️
You are so kind! ❤️🧡
This is so true!

I love a little getaway like this to unplug and just connect with nature! It’s so refreshing 🤍
It is! Svalbard is such a amazing place to visit hopefully I can be there for my small youtube channel!
I’m pretty much house bound with my health. Your videos are like a remedy. They do me a world of good. I’m sure I’m not alone. 💜💜💜
I really love your cabin adventures. You’ve dialed it in and taught us so much how to do it in style. Happy adventures. More Grim please.
Thank you for your beautiful videos. I just watch & smile. So peaceful & relaxing.
Reminds me very much of Northern Ontario (French River, Ontario) type of Fall & Winter life; No running water or electricity, heat is from a wood stove, water is from melting ice on the stove, uninsulated cabins with open interior walls, bench seating at plywood tables. I like to put an open pot of water with a cinnamon stick in it on the stove to add fragrance and humidity. It makes you appreciate the things that really matter... Friendships, food, and hopefully a fish or two ;-)
My very favourite place in Ontario. Spent 3 weeks most summers at my dads hunt camp.
@@Jo81562 Upper or Lower French? We were the lower side. Hartley Bay to Killarney by water.
We used to have a polar bear at our zoo. He seemed so sad!Glad they have the whole archipelago on which to live and hunt. Better luck next video!
Saw a lone ice bear on concrete in a zoo and it was pacing apathetically from left to right and back. It was sad to see. They and most other animals don't belong there.
We had one too, in a little tiny hut. Once in a while, they would fill his pool with ice. I was just a kid and even then I knew Snowball was miserable.
@@jodylebel2780 Awww, so sorry
@@rachelpeham3508 That's really sad, makes my heart break, I can't stand to see animals suffer
Sitting outside on a snow sofa in -20 out of the wind with the sun on my face (because let's face it that's the only part that is exposed) is one of my favorite things to do. Once I had a raven come and check me out because I had sat there for so long he thought I might be a bit of a snack. No polar bears here in Ontario
Lol
I really like your videos. As others mentioned they are very calming. Thank you. 👍🏼
Thank you! 💙💙
Such a beautiful, calming video. Love seeing your adventures on the cabin trips. ❤️❤️
Your cabin tours are very interesting.how you spend time in there is so unique,it's one way completely different.for me your cabin videos are a must must watch
Looks so fun! I loved you crawling over Christopher while he was sleeping 😁
Me too! lol
Love to see others embrace the winter season and the quarks that come with living further north. I'm in North Dakota...not near as far north, but we are not strangers to extreme winter temps! -40F without wind-chill!
actually i think its slightly warmer in the winter in svalbard then where u are lol
Looks like you had an awesome trip to the cabin. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm really impressed how you vids together..every night when I go to sleep I put ur vids on shuffle and it helps my mental health...anxiety. so thank you.
Thank you for watching! 🧡🧡
I think coffee taste better when it's really cold outside. And now I'm all set for the week, seeing that Cecilia and Grim are fine, healthy and happy💖💖
PS, great prices on those cabin rentals👍
I really love watching your videos during summer. I live in New England and I remember you've mentioned your sister lives in Connecticut right now. So you've probably heard about how hot and humid it can get here! The snow, wind, negative temps. All of it helps make it easier to cope with the heat. Also, a Q&A with Linn would be awesome since she's becoming a more frequent guest in your videos lately ☺
Another lovely video. Our lives are much richer having shared in your weekly adventures on Svalbard. Thank you!
Thank you for watching! 😍🧡👏
Looks like a fun time for all. I learn so much everytime I watch one of your videos: tips for cabin cooking, ideas for gifts and traveling. The end with Grim the thief was pretty cute.
Love these vids! Living vicariously while lounging on my Floridian couch. I’m adventurous! Hahah
Beautifully done Cecilia! Your videos are so professional looking! I hope you are enjoying Portugal. It's so nice to see these snowmobile trips! Hope your aren't missing Grim too much! Much love to you, Christoffer and Grim🤎🐾🐾🐕🦺
You are too kind! 🧡🧡
Wow the knock over cabin looks so cool!
glad you had fun to your heart's content. accommodations are way too primitive for my delicate personality. ha! i love the cold and snow as far as far as the eye can see, though. can't wait for part two. cheers, all!
Your positivity is infectious 🥹
Did you say “oi-yoi-yoi “? My Norwegian grandmother use to say that! Thanks for reminding me.
She has such a relaxing voice!
Such a magnificent landscape 💖those cabins always look so cosy, fascinating to see the glacier, how 😍 The drone shots are awesome xxx
Just look at that sky! WOW!
I hope you are warm in Portugal.
I love your videos so so much. I worked as a backcountry snowboard guide for years and have always lived for winter and outdoors sports. Your daily life is my dream and I love that you never tire of how stunning it is where you live. I love that you take advantage of your surroundings and appreciate your videos, I love when you add in little educational bits it's so interesting. I will say though that anytime I see you outside on your snowmobile/cabin adventures and I see the sun shining on your face I always wonder to myself "I hope she's wearing sunscreen!!!" People often think of sunscreen in the summer but not as much in the winter. The sun reflecting off the snow onto your skin in the winter is actually more damaging. I was not as diligent with my sunscreen on my face when snowboarding for all my guiding years as I should have been and it lead to a long battle with skin cancer that is still ongoing. I've had 3 skin cancer surgeries and have my 4th on my face later this month. I've been very fortunate so far that they have been able to remove all the cancer however I keep finding more and more spots that require surgery. This has made me VERY sun aware. I'm only in my 30's and wish more people knew about the risks of skin cancer and how easy it is to get and prevent! Anyway I love your videos so much but I just wanted to pass along that I hope you're wearing sunscreen on all your adventures! Stay safe!!!!
❤️❤️❤️
Again. Absolutely stunning. Thanks for the tour.
That’s very cozy 😌😌😌
I sooo look forward to your videos! Such a pleasure. Do take care, and thank you all! 🥰
Music to my ears, thank you for watching! 🧡🧡
I'm so glad that I found your videos. I would love to visit Svalbard one day. Everything is so calm, peaceful and beautiful. Thank you for sharing this amazing ice world with us.
You are so kind, thank you! 🧡🧡
the wind sounds like it's carrying the sounds of the glacier around 5:45 *oooOOooo*
Grim was on a meditation weekend it seems. One with nature. It’s nice to get away always
Watching this video, relaxing, over my morning coffee ☕ can't believe that house tipped over!
I’ve got an Alaskan malamute from the shelter in a place that reaches 85F in the summer. She swims, but would be best there! Great video!
Hi Cecilia! I just wanted to thank you for your stunning videos. I'm so excited every time I see that you released a new one. Svalbard is so gorgeous and your videos bring me so much peace! Great vibes ! I love the editing, the music you choose, the scenary, your positive personality! Thank you for sharing your life with us. I hope to be able to visit Svalbard one day!
Also I have purchased one of your photographs today to support you and your channel ! Take care :)

To each it’s own. In central Texas, I ride my motorcycle on weekends. -and to work on weekdays.
Cecilia this was a great video I super enjoyed and appreciated how everyone all over the world has very different ways of a very fun get away
Thank you! 🧡🙌
Have you heard stories about the Inuarutligak people? Little people who live in the upmost Northern regions underground and in caves. These tales are common among the Inuit people in Alaska and Canada.
Thank you for showing me this life ❤
Great video. I enjoyed it can't wait to see more soon greetings from Canada 😀
Send that cold weather to Arizona 🇺🇸 USA 🇺🇸 🙃. The temperatures is starting to spike up 🌡
Wow! Amazing drone footage! Nice Cecilia! It's so nice that you have your own big giant teddy bear with you! Remember to give Grimm a big hug for us!

Heading to Svalbard in 2 days. Looking forward to the experience. Thank you for all your videos.

@@CeciliaBlomdahl your so welcome. Hope your enjoying your holiday 😊 x
As always an incredible video with amazing videography. Thank you so much for uploading this. 👍🏻
so cool!Stunning landscape.
Thanks for lots of information
I've gone without a toilet, shower, and basic amenities for the last six weeks, because my pump and well are not connecting and there are no plumbers willing to come here to look at them. But I'm managing and persevering and, despite writing this comment, I am not making a big fuss about it on UA-cam to call attention to myself.
Seeing your videos, I need to visit Svalbard twice, i) once during sunny winter and ii) during polar summer. Incidentally, I have seen several polar bears in the wild during my multiple trips to Kaktovik, Alaska.
You were just talking about Polar Bears and yet you were not wearing your rifle, very brave. It is a magnificent place where you live and I would love to visit it. Take care.
We bring our rifles wherever we go outside of the settlement. So even if its not in shot, it's there somewhere :)
Great content…so interesting…love your videos….you’ve a lot of energy! Thanks
Love the sausages wrapped in bacon. Great idea!!
Staple Nowegian street food 😊. If you go to any gas station you will be able to buy one, and they even have cheesebinside them. Delicious.
Thats a very pretty A frame cabin. I hope they make it right.
Totally cool! Wouldn't be the same in the US, you need the wilderness of Svalbard to make the magic happen.
So awesome! Thanks! I really enjoyed the music as well.
Cecilia, when you go on long trips like this does Grim run alongside the whole way or does he ride sometimes? I was wondering if you put any kind of boots on him for these long treks. Love watching your videos. I'm so done with winter here in Canada, can't wait for t-shirts, shorts and flip-flops. Are you looking forward to your trip to Portugal?
In previous vlogs, she's shown an enclosed sled for Grim to travel in that's pulled behind a snowmobile. It looks quite cozy.
I can see why only locals can stay in these cabins. I would be lost so fast in this environment. And would have no idea what to do to stay safe in such cold conditions, much less drive a snow mobile or anything.
Always a pleasure watching your videos!! Thank You🙂
Thanks for watching! 🧡🧡
I like getting out all day and hiking and being outdoors, but I have to have a shower to go to bed. I can't imagine going somewhere for four days with no running water, lol. For me that would be more stressful and take away from any fun or relaxing element. People lived like that in past centuries because they had no choice. Now we have the luxury of being outdoors all day and getting dirty and having fun and then coming indoors to a hot shower, which is my preference. Svalbard looks super cool to visit, but I wouldn't be interested in living somewhere where it is cold year-round, or for that matter hot year-round, either. I like having four seasons and the change of pace and atmosphere that brings. It honestly looks like it would be pretty boring after about a week of living there. I'd rather be in Colorado, or the Appalachian Mountains, or down at the beach, or the Swiss Alps, or Scotland or Ireland. Really there are so many other more lovely places with so much more to do and so much more beautiful nature to see. I can't imagine wanting to live in such a desolate, lifeless place for so many years. How does someone live without trees and grass and flowers? Not being able to garden. Not for me.
I came from Kara and Nate’s channel
👍🤩👍
I bet Cristofer enjoyed not having to do all the cooking. Beautiful landscape.
Cecilia you are so lucky to have Christoffer making you delicious meals 😀🍀👏
I love your drone videos! The house is hilarious!
Captivating! ❄️🧊☀️🧊❄️💨
I sort of remember hearing the bears and walruses hang out on the northern beaches
Stunning landscape. I hope your enjoying sunshine in Portugal!
Hello Cecilia I absolutely LOVE your videos. It is such a joy to watch Christopher, Grim & you. It's so beautiful where you live. Thank you for sharing your life with us all. I feel like your a friend of mine, yet your not in real life lol. The cabin & boat videos are super awesome. 🙂🙏
Hi Darcy, and thank you for your kind words! 🧡😍🐕
@@CeciliaBlomdahl Your very welcome. So excited to see your next video 🙂
Aloha Cecilia when we imagine a place to live, cold has never been my jam, lol so my imagination took me to Hawaii. I'm enjoying your content from the Big Island hawaii..
Yes- the bears are white. The landscape is white, and sprinkled with deep shadows. And like all bears, smarter than humans realize. (big surprises are possible) You live in an amazing place! Snowmobiles and coffee.........
In the current world political climate your decision to live in such a remote region may turn out to be even better than you think. I just wish me and my family were there too .
Yes, I can understand that. I've been living in the wild forests and hills of Värmland, Sweden, near the border with Norway, for seven years now, you can forget the world. Few people live here in the countryside and all the excitement is far away. Only the wind, the birds and occasionally a car driving by. Here the world is still in order. We didn't have a lockdown because of Covid.
Check out the Treaty of Svalbard which gave all signatories, including Russia, certain rights. At one point, there were more Russians than Norwegians living on Svalbard. It's location makes it attractive for countries such as Russia, that want to extend influence in the Artic. A Russia State - Owned mining company still oversees an area. Barentsburg is a community of Russians & Ukrainians. There's an article in the 2/10/2020 issue of High North News that describes increasing tensions between Norway & Russia. I've asked in a previous post how the war is affecting those Svalbard given it's unique makeup. Something else I saw online, maybe Cecilia can confirm, that Russia still has rights to mine part of the archipelago.
Great cabin video, Cecilia! Thanks for finding some polar bear footage to share. Loved the Grim, tilted cabin, proper cabin interior, and expansive environmental views - esp the tips on cooking and fire management. Grim's little snowmobile sidecar is so cute! You take wonderful care of him. Looking forward to the next video.
You are so kind, thanks for watching! 🧡🙌
It must be beautiful in person. this would be on the bottom of my bucket list of places to see like going to China
There's a remote inn somewhere ? that tourists can book a trip that includes snowmobiling for several hours to reach. Sounds like the amenities are quite above what you have in the cabins locals can rent .
There's cabins where people can stay in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of nowhere. Amazing.
Definitely want to see there one day but it must be in the winter lol. So beautiful
Love this so much! The glacier looked so beautiful!
Do you have to bring all your cooking pots/utensils with you or are they already in the cabin?
Marianna
Hi Cecilia , Svalbard is my bucket list. Love watching your videos . So different and unique. Just subscribed to your channel.
Thanks for the kind words! 🧡🧡

but what do you do when you have to use the bathroom?
Awesome, I'll be up there next month!
I just Love You Cecilia, such a Talented woman, you can do anything. My Regards to Grim and Christopher, ohhhh and Lynn.
I always think of the logistics of remote cabins. We have our versions in California, the mountains or desert. Even when camping, we’ll bring along a camp shower. You were there four days. How does personal hygiene work at those temperatures?
Cecilia, I've often wondered what cabin is the most northern of all ?
Hello Cecilia what rifle do you use? Did you learn to shoot while in Svalbard? Love your videos! My family and I are really inspired to come visit some day.
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Hi Cecilia, I love your videos and admire how you embrace living in a place that is so cold in the winter. My husband and I are from England. We emigrated to Canada in 1989 and lived in the nations capital for 12 years where the winters were always so cold but after we had our 3 kids we couldn't stand those winter days anymore so we moved to the west coast where it's more like England in the winter ie it rains all winter long. Anyway, I was just wondering, does Grim sleep inside that tiny cabin with you when you spend a few days there?
THANK YOU!
Love your videos 🥶
😍😍😍
You seem more American than I feel and I have been here for generations. Glad you did not take up the British accent! Lol Note I said seem not just sound. You seem very healthy and strong, but seeing how you may have to fight a polar bear, its a good thing! My borther is 6'5 . My sister 5'2. Lol We are all over the height scale. I enjoy your videos! I know you are not in America nor are you American.
And the bathroom is...?? XD i cant imagine..
Will they fix that cabin that has blown over? With the cost of materials so high I can see them salvaging it... but seems a shame to just leave it.
im only catchig up and u must be in portugal by now enjoy ur holiday.
