"You'd think the rain would keep people away....." LOL. I work for a big box retailer, and I can say from experience that the worse the weather the more you have people coming to the store because there's nothing else to do. And they have all day to be there, too.
I'm not certain why, but the episodes where there's a lot of rain are some of my favourites. Whether it's the family hanging out in front of the store chatting waiting for a storm to pass, or here where it's you, Matt and your Dad doing a lot of work, but taking a time out and having a chat in the side-by-side...it always makes for a great episode. Loved the edits after the intro and before your "welcome back". Your dedication to ALWAYS making sure you have a proper ending to your videos, no matter what, is truly appreciated.
Brilliant to know your fans from Korea have visited you. Veggie farming has worldwide appeal. Those tomatoes look fabulous, no wonder your farm market is selling out fast. ❤
12:05 PopPop, that means I've been old for 15 year's but to me it seems longer. I've been retired for 26 year's and I still pick tomatoes every year but just Roma's and Bush Cherries because I can't grow round tomatoes like you. I enjoy your content because you're one heck of a farmer. Cheers
It wasn’t the prettiest day to be out in the fields picking tomatoes but the tomatoes you picked were definitely beauties! I’m glad you got them picked before any could split open!
You folks that live nearby to this farm are SO LUCKY!! I'm moving out there!! I can't make salsa this year because there are hardly any tomatoes around and the ones that are there don't look very nice at all. Not a good year for tomatoes in my area. Glad I filled every jar I had last year so I have a good supply of salsa but always want to keep the stock of it high. Hopefully, next year.
This year you have had so much to harvest that it put you behind. I live in Canada and have already put everything to bed and done my winter prep. The temps are really starting to drop. It was close to frost this morning and I had to turn the furnace on.
I must say Poppa nd Andrew, dem matoes looked super lovely plump nd ready....That ity bitty water sure helped them.... .Yea Poppa u need to take it a lil Ez uve earned ur Keep....Luv all the Och' s Farm nd grammy! God Bless you greatly ❤ Grammy is always cooking, baking, prepping, organizing keeping her kitchen running smoooth.....💝💯👍
Looks like you and Joel could use real rain gear to wear! Love your dads humor, he is so funny! It is 108F today and blow dryer hot breezes, the rain and clouds look so nice. Love your family, and all your videos too
By this time last year, your tomato plants were pretty much all yellow, and this year still pretty green with only a few yellow! Great year! I wish for every year to be like this year for you and your family farm!
Wonderful work Veggie Boys in nearly all weather too. Beautiful tomatoes. Eventually Bryan your grandchildren may be working on the farm for a time or maybe some or all for their main jobs. Who can say. Good work, Veggie Boys and Girls! Happy healthy harvests and good work! I am very happy to say I have 4 fruits on my determinate tomato that survived 111 heat in the summer and lots of days above 98 degrees here. Now in low to mid 90s with temps at night cooling well. Mojave Desert is a hard place to grow a home garden and especially so for tomatoes. I planted that seedling in April, too! Plant was nearly dead in August and I had two marble sized fruit then which I picked. The other surviving tomato has not fruited and I am giving it 2 more days to do so before I pull it. Zone 8B 3,000' elevation hot country. Also we do get 1-4 days of actual light snow and a few hard freezes many winters.
This year I believe my giant cherry tomatoes were the biggest I’ve ever raised and two jalapeño plants and one banana pepper plant has produced so far together 5 gallons of peppers that I’ve put in freezer.
I think that not staking the tomatoes has turned out better than if you had staked them. They seem better sheltered and they're not laying on the ground. Congrats on a beautiful harvest. God Bless our farmers!!
The easiest way to do tomato sauce is to use a big electric roaster. Peel them and just fill the roaster set on low and let cook down, put through a sieve or Grammy's separator and finish cooking down in the roaster, jar and water bath.
Hi Andrew ! My first comment here. Love your videos! I grew up on a vegetable farm in Ohio. Tomatoes, Corn, Cabbage mostly on a large scale. Operating on the flood plains of the Ohio River. Both of my parents also grew up on farms. SO I relate to a lot of what you do, especially the chickens and cattle. I assume you sell your cattle when appropriate to market. Would love to see that aspect of your business. Loading them up and transportation to sell point. Thanks and love your videos. Callie is a cutie pie !
Wow!!! Have you guys ever considered opening your fields to your customers to pick the “leftover” tomatoes and peppers that are in your fields that you aren’t going to get an opportunity to pick?? You could let people pick it for a much cheaper price and rather then letting them rot on the vines? Just an idea. I think a lot of people are struggling with the prices of fresh produce and it may be a way for some people to feed their families and do it in a dignified way rather than having to go to a food bank for a hand out. Just an idea. ❤️🥰🙏🏻🍁🇨🇦
I now pull the tops off too because of your videos, and I don’t have a lot like you to stack in boxes, etc. lol. See, we’re paying attention. 😆 Jealous of your rain but prayers for states that got devastated by the hurricane. We’re in a severe drought in SW MO. Bring on fall. I’m ready this year.
Always look forward to your videos. Thanks for sharing. Are the turkeys to sell or for the family? Hope Lauren is doing great. Miss seeing her but she's got her hands full! 😉 your family farm has had a great harvest this year, alot of hard work, but so important. Thanks for all you do ☺
Fantastic video! You guys need to wear rain gear! jacket/coat and pants for picking in rain. Just a thought. Those tomatoes are huge! Thank you for sharing your world. See you in the next one. Question: are any of the fruits and veggies GMO?
Yup, a tomato sandwich with salt and pepper on both sides of the tomato and Miracle Whip or Mayo on the bread!! Yummy!!! I grew up having that every summer and early fall with fresh tomatoes from the garden!!
I think your merch is the most beautiful in terms of the design. most influencers make merchandise and put a lot of fonts on the design. that's cool the veggie boys!
From the farm, vegetables, fruits are harvested and brought to the supermarket! I am sure they are really safe and hygienic, in fact very safe for everyone's health. 👌😋😍
Regarding tomato sauce - if you have the freezer space it can be really nice to just wash (and core if you want to take the time) and freeze the tomatoes until a slow cold rainy day and make the sauce then. =)
Every time I watch you picking tomatoes, my taste buds start screaming for tomato slices smothered in mayo with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. My kids think I'm crazy... but I tell them, it's tomato magic! 🍅✨
Love that you are finding this years harvest is such a blessing. Good to know that the growing season is ending soon for you all. I wondered how long you all picked!
Those are perfect slicer tomatoes. One slice will fill a whole sandwich. Too bad you cannot remember which variety they are.// I have a question: Do they not sell rain suits and gardeners knee pads in Pensilvania?
What variety are the "round" tomatoes please? Are they heirloom and are they good for general use or can you can them as well for sauce? Have you noticed an improvement since working on removing the stones from the farm land? Yes people do forget that processing the fruit and vegetables you grow, also takes time. Is Grammy mentoring any of the ladies in the shop? I do love both growing and processing but we only have a garden to deal with and not a farm. Our Grandma was the glue that held the family together, until she passed away. You don't realise how little you learnt from them over the years until they are gone.
How cool to have viewers from South Korea to make a pit stop to say hi. Very cool. My niece has been over there for the past yr going to school & will be staying there to live shortly. Forgot to say i love watching the veggies getting picked. I love the rain too, as long as it's not a cold chilly rain. Making tomato sauce (spaghetti) out of slicing tomatoes is very time consuming. It literally took a friend & i all day to do it, I think we had made 6 jars. I was learning & we did the version of dunking them in hot water & then cold so we could take the skins off. Oy. Never again lol
Y'all should put up a world map somewhere in the store for visitors that watch the channel can put pins where they're visiting from. South Korea has to be the farthest so far.
I think it was another episode where you discussed the merch and requested suggestions. I think a produce market bag would be a perfect product for a veggie farmer. Something strong and sturdy with handles, maybe separated in middle for two sides or possibly a side pocket. Maybe we do a promotional at the store for free bags to the first 100 customers or something like that. Maybe even smaller bags for children to encourage children's interest in veggies, to pick their own veggies.
Hey Andrew I wanted to first off tell you i love your content I love watching your videos! I know you have a good following of some great and amazing people and I wanted to see if you may say a few words about the people in the Appalachian area NC & TN who have went through a catastrophic event, there are so many places that cannot be reached atm and may not be for quite awhile they need help desperately! Thank you for your time and if you can't or don't it is understandable
Those tomatoes are incredible. The look like beefsteak or heirloom tomatoes and not just basic round tomatoes.
"You'd think the rain would keep people away....."
LOL. I work for a big box retailer, and I can say from experience that the worse the weather the more you have people coming to the store because there's nothing else to do. And they have all day to be there, too.

I love hearing the poultry, ladies clucking and the turkeys gobbling!
I’m eating a homegrown Tomato & Bacon Sandwich while watching this video. Perfect timing!!!😊❤️👍

Shopping bags would be awesome love your videos
I have a hoodie and a shirt. Love them both. The hoodie is the most comfortable hoodie I have ever had. I am probably going to get another.

I think since you have two daughters, it’s time for a farm princess shirt
Genius !

@@theveggieboys just an idea you have a huge untapped income stream in merchandise like 60% of your UA-cam income
This year you have had so much to harvest that it put you behind.

Another beautiful day. Thank you all. ~Sharon from Florida
You talking to your Dad was so wonderful. Enjoyed this video so much. The best.😊😊😊😊😊
Goodness! Those toms are huge..such a bountiful harvest for sure

I love watching you pick peppers; all of the varieties have such vibrant colors. I don't eat them, but I sure think that they are beautiful.

Definitely Dad and his Mom🎉
By this time last year, your tomato plants were pretty much all yellow, and this year still pretty green with only a few yellow! Great year! I wish for every year to be like this year for you and your family farm!
We haven't seen any pea picking videos 😢. I know it's your favorite 😅. Great tomato year and sweet corn 🌽.
Makes me smile to get my notifications from The Veggie Boys…… and GIRLS ❤
i so love watching your family!! wished i lived near there for your produce..being in SC is a bit of a drive...lol

Love watching ❤. Beautiful 🍅 .
It certainly makes the chickens happy when you give them some greens or some old tomatoes.
Your tomatoes look amazing. I bet those tomatoes taste wonderful.
Get you some Rain X for the windshields on all the equipment. Work's great. Should be able to find at your local parts store or Wally world.
Veggie boys tomato sauce ✔️
Did you record you & Matthew making sauce? Did you use grammy's recipe? I'd LOVE to see that! I wish Matthew would start a channel!
I just had to scrape ice off my windshield this morning and you are picking tomatoes?!?
Pop Pop can’t possibly get any cuter. Those tomatoes are stunning. Thank you for a gorgeous day in the rain Big hugs to all. Great merch. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Those are nice tomatoes I’m almost jealous. Your peppers are really nice this year also. Great season and the baby’s are adorable.

Beautiful tomatoes and fun picking in the rain. Well done guys.

Love love loved this video. Hearing you all laugh and talk while you are picking makes me happy.

Question: are any of the fruits and veggies GMO?
Every time I see you guys picking tomatoes it makes me want tomato slices with a little bit of mayo and salt and pepper. My children think I’m crazy.
Absolutely, a fresh tomato sandwich is a real treat!
I love tomatoe sandwich..my kids think I'm crazy. Lolol
I don’t like mayo!!
Same here. Same craving when they’re harvesting cucumbers. Cucumber or tomato sandwiches with salt, pepper and Miracle Whip!
Yup, a tomato sandwich with salt and pepper on both sides of the tomato and Miracle Whip or Mayo on the bread!! Yummy!!! I grew up having that every summer and early fall with fresh tomatoes from the garden!!

Pop pop I just love your personality! Love your videos keep it up all of you.
Tomatos 🍅 are still the thing this Summer. YUM! 👍
I'm so enjoying these fall picking videos. I wonder how long this season will go if it never gets down to frost temperatures.
Saw some green tomatoes -- don't forget the green tomato jam and chutney !
Don't forget chow chow.
I had a BLT for lunch today. Tomato was from my garden and it was so tasty.
I agree, your tomatoes this year have been phenomenal, especially the round. Whatever seed/variety you used, do not change.👍
Keep up the awesome work.
Wonderful crops👍👍👍

I would love to grab a couple green tomatoes for fried green tomatoes .. yum
I am gonna enjoy watching you pick those Tomatoes.
Come rain or Come Shine. 🍅😊

Just harvested 5 pounds of pecans today. New tree just starting to bear. Last year the neighborhood squirrels got the few it produced.

Do the cows like tomatoes?? Love to hear them eat potatoes!! 😀😀

Great tomatoes 🍅.
Can you show more of your cattle operation???
You boys know it's raining or suspect it's going to - why don't you wear rain gear to go out in the fields? 🥦🌽🍅
Love show keep up the good love you guy&girls 😃😃😃❤❤😘😘😘😘

Hang in there pop pop!
I'm 63 and I was picking 🍅 yesterday. 😊
I saw lots of green tomatoes left yet and flowers.

Curious as to what the nutritionist told pop pop? Speaking of merch, yall still gonna do grammy's cookbook?
tops off the round tomatoes…..Hummmm…..now we know why Andrew likes to pick the plum tomatoes more than the round tomatoes. 😂😂😅
So glad you continue to have a bountiful harvest.
At my local store today 5 plum tomatoes were $3. Wish you were closer!
All bundled up .. cold is here .. still in the 90s here in NM ... Love those Veggy Boys ...
help me out Andrew, what do you do with the beef cattle. Do you sell the;m or do you butcher the for your market?
