Although this video seemed like more of a how NOT to restore wheels, it was absolutely hilarious and I enjoyed every minute of it. Definitely subscribed
“Remember sanding? I do, I spent a thousand years doing in it one weekend” lol my favorite line. I’m actually doing same thing to a set of wheels on my 06 Mercury grand Marquis and same thing as you. Wire brushed the whole wheel…I’m subbing. The wheels turned out awesome!
I went looking for copper and found gold. I have some old C5 Corvette cast aluminum wheels that look nice and shiny on the outside but the inside has a perfect mix of god awful pitting and brake dust residue. I'm not gonna go as in-depth as you since they just need a touch up, but your wheels look amazing.
Another awesome video. Keep them coming, looking forward to the next one. Jafromobile is a great channel if you ever want to go into the crazy level of aluminum polishing
You talk so negatively of the process, but I find this to be therapeutic. I’ll be tackling a set of Volk 5/4s that are bad pitted…hopefully my aircraft stripper is potent enough. Edit: I love that you call the over priced wheels of the popularity chasers “who gives a shits.”
For pitted "spokes" you may need to sand the flat parts to a decent finish then use an abrasive pad to do the insides as best you can. I got 2 pairs of ssr hart mesh spinners, 1 sat in a shed at a beach house for 20+ years as his spares on vacation. Super pitted which is how I found out haha
I’m going to do the same thing with mine. Except I’d like to turn all the faux holes black. Probably lose my mine with these god dam wheels and throw them away. I spent hours trying to clean them already
For the lips if your car is running you can jack it up bolt em one runnit in 1st while rubing its a little sketchy but if you put your fingers in the direction they just bump off spokes NOT the otherway that they will poke that would hurt
@@SpinningWrenches it'll get there just don't give up when you get to the boring parts and i hate me a little for saying it but no new projects till this one us running dont have to be done And if it's real close and you find the deal you can't pass up if you have the space or better a buddy house you can park it at so you don't start working on it till this one is running Now if you could send this back to be like you said it. Maybe I'll listen to you I haven't had much luck listening to me
I'm the same way I've got a jeep that needs the upper control arms welded back on the body side cause the rear axle it dangling by 2 arms You know what I did today. Bought cheap set of wheels for my truck (which honestly the ones on it are fine) And found your video cause I've got to do more work to put those on See Now when I say it I feel dumb
Still have 1 of these wheels that I keep as a memory of my stolen car. First car I paid for,no loan from mommy and daddy, was stolen outside of work the day prior to my ls swap. Ls3 was in the back along with t56(after work was gonna head to buddies shop down the street and drop it off)

Nice work! I'm going to try this on my Lincoln Mark VII LSC's wheels which have a similar mesh style.
You sir are based heavily in reality and I love your hilariously honest remarks. Keep up the good work.
Commentary is on point 😂😂😂❤

Amazing work, amazing jokes, amazing explanation. You now have a new subscriber
great vid man very fun to watch!
Wouldn’t a white primer been a better choice as it would have made the gold more prominent??
Awesome video
"I started stripping them with some steel wool, and then i realized I'm not a god damn cave man". Had me dying laughing.

methylene chloride is no longer available in paint stripper sold to the public, can be purchased by businesses in 5 Gallon or larger quantity
These are BBS style wheels...
