Each civilization on the game has it's own theme, which I'm sharing in my youtube channel.

Değiştiremediler gitti şu müziği. Bu Türk müziği değil hatta AoE 2 oyuncuları dışında bu müziği Türkiye'de duyan yok.

Mehter Marşı gibi yapmaya çalışmışlar sanki bilmiyorum. Birde Aoe D.E 3 te Camiden çan sesleri geliyor, umarım düzeltirler ve seviye atladıktan sonra yenilenen Caminin kapısında artı sembolleri var ne alaka ?

I understand you. The same thing occurs to everyone who lives in Latinoamerican countries they believe that we look like the mexicans but thats not true we are very different. In landscapes and culture.
I think it is a reference to how the Turks were "Arabized/Islamized"...
@@varunmanjunath9123 turks were never arabized. Yes islamificatikn is a thing but most of turkish words today, even after 600 years of using the ottoman scripture(taken from arabs), remains protected and only around 6% of words in turkish are of arabic origin. Also, Turks and ottoman empire controlled all arab regions so they weren’t as arabized as turks turkified them. Eg. The first mamluk kingdom was of kipchak(turkic) origin, many great empires expanding to heartland of india even once had turkic roots.
If they really wanted to represent ottoman turks they should’ve used more anatolian and caucasian mixed music with turkic hints.
The problem with the naming and theme of the civ is: it seems like they tried representing the anatolian ottomans with ‘turks’ but used the most dead arab music possible. The idea of ‘turks’ isn’t fitting because throughout history turks were used to refer to many peoples so a name like the ottomans would be less problematic and definitely more accurate( although ottoman’s were never referred to as ottomans up until a point.)
Ottoman Empire governed so many ethnicities but arabs were definitely not a big minority: Greeks, armenians, ladin jews(after reconquesta), kurds, circassians, laz, pontic greeks, ethnic celtic phygrians, albanians, persians etc.
The arab influence argument makes absolutely no sense because this music IS basically arab and nothing else.
@@penus7639 What you said is correct, but what I meant was that the Islamization of Turkic regions did have major cultural and linguistic disturbances, which seems reasonable in the Turks theme.
Nevertheless, your point about the portrayal of Turkic kingdoms in AoE2 makes sense, the names "Saracens" and "Turks" are very ambiguous and Europe-centric endonyms of Islamic invaders.
That said, I think the next DLC will be fixing these umbrella civs by breaking them into:
1. Turkic origin caliphate (Ottoman, Timurid, etc)
2. Arabian origin caliphates (Muhammedan, Rashidun, Umayyud, Abassid, etc)
3. Islamized Persian/Iranian empires (since AoE2 Persians are pre-Islamic natives)
That should make it more historically reasonable, don't you think?

The Turks in Age of Empires 2 represent both the Seljuks and the Ottomans. Early period is the Seljuks while the Ottomans are middle to late period.
