Something like : 2022-now 2017-2021 2009-2016 1998-2008 1988-1997 (96 and 97 are a bit different) etc you get the idea

I would say 2012 is my favourite but I think that's partially to do with the shape of the car. I'm not a fan of the high nose in 2011, and 2010 is nice but I guess I don't like the high engine spine as much
I do think the 71-72 Lotus is overall a more beautiful car/livery combo than the 76 and even the martini brabham. But on livery alone... Man thats tough.

My favourite livery of all time has to go to the McLaren West livery and after that in no particular order I love the 2019 Mercedes , 2020 Renault, 2021 Alpha Tauri and 2022 Alfa Romeo.

I've been saying the Alpine 2021 livery is the greatest of all time (I might have it hung up in my room), and I thought I was the only one. Also, adding that it forms half of a Union Jack from a vertical shot elevates it even more from my designer brain.
Personally I prefer the '92 Williams, just by 2 cents. Also, the Renault R25 wins it for me. We've seen the 2018 to 2021 era of cars in full black, even Renault did one in full black for testing and people raved about that car. The Renault R25 livery is the clear class of its field when it came to livery, while the Alpine, best livery of its field, had challengers in the RB special liveries, the Toro Rosso, and I'd argue, the AMR livery (if it wasn't ruined in 2021 by the ugly BWT pink.) The R25 is a legendary livery for that reason.
I disagree that Jordan didn't achieve much in 1991 apart from Michael's debut. It was quite an impressive season for the team in general, which included multiple point finishes (when only top 6 scored with more than 30 entrants per race), and even one fastest lap. Considering how short-lived (and weak) were most of the debutant teams between 1989 and 1992, Jordan's first season is actually very impressive. And the team survived until 2005, and still (sort of) exists under a different name.
In no world is that 2012 McLaren beating the 1992 Williams. Asinine. I really like the chrome McLaren’s as well, but the early 90s Williams were iconic.

While a ido agree the mclaren liveries from 4-10 years ago was horrendous but the last 3-4 years has been slowly improving. The blue was a hit or miss but their one off liveries have been some of the best in recent history

People whining about how "iconic" a livery was, they're not judging how well it performed or for how long it was there... It's all subjective and only has to do with the livery itself. Although unfortunately, the body of the car also plays a role. But screaming at the top of your lungs because a simple half red, half white car didn't win is pure denial. It is in fact pretty but can't compare to other liveries, it can't win on the basis of "it was THE icon at that time".
Lotus 72 should be the JPS car , Jordan 191 is my favourite but it actually looked better in Black so I know what you mean. btw "we are ranking paint on Carbon fibre" not on a 67 lotus :P
Id also add that you keep saying the Jordan wasn't that good - umm considering it was Jordans first F1 car and it got 7 points finishes (top 6) and 9 further top tens and should have maybe won Belgium apart from Ford forgetting to tell them that the engine upgrades used more oil, certainly would have been second they did ok.
I think some people also take into consideration of the team. Like the Honda Earth car livery was great even though it wasn't a good car. Also i think most of the chooices were being made based off the way the car is shaped which adds some bias into the decision. I think you should have made all of the cars grey or silver and then voted on the care shape. the livery does need to work with the car yes but the Jordan is a bottle opener that is green and blue it is winning based on the shape of the car not because of the livery. Redbull was the only one that was winning based on the livery alone not the shape of the car. Still a good video though I like the collab with tommo

The brawn is one of the worst liveries in my opinion. I think the 92 Williams should have won overall. I think the photography of the Alpine was easily the best and that may have contributed more than you think. I think the 2021 Alpine is a fair winner though. If you had the cars from all angles and the same lightning you may have had different results. Also the Martini livery is nice but jesus the car it was on had a poor shape and it could be better on a better shaped car. One of my wildcard picks would have been the last manor. I think that one was a nice livery. A personal favourite that i know isnt really shared is the 2014 force india.

The base car only fit the part of that awesome look on the MP4/22 and MP4/23. Most of the later years it was only the livery that made the car even passable. Lastly, for perspective I am 33 and my first season was 2008 with Vettel's win being one of the first full races i watched.
