Free? There's no freedom here. Entirely an illusion. There's nothing you can do that isn't tax and/or regulated in the States. You can't even own property in this country. Stop with the "freedom" BS
I wonder if the guy was actually meaning to do them harm. Caneswords are some times just gifts and mainly used as canes, might be that the guy didn't realise. Too late now of course.
@ Its less the cane and more that it was a cane sword. These are roughly sidesword type blades with the cane handle acting as thier handle and the long part of the cane being the scabbard. You can use them as a cane but can also draw the sword in a heartbeat.
A man close enough to touch with a bayonet intentionally keeping hold of a hidden sword seems pretty threatening to me. Having a sword in hand less than 10ft away is as much a threat as a pointed rifle in my mind. In retrospect we can think about the possibility that was just an old man in a warzone holding onto the only little piece of self defense he had available, but by the time these guys finished that thought they might have been bleeding out already.
@@UrknetLabradories Zatoichi were common at that time for the elderly to use as walking sticks. If he meant them harm he would have attacked as soon as he saw them. The Japanese were not Vietnamese.
Thank you AND OLeary for your service! And I dint want this to sound wrong, cuz m6 dad a marine and I have many friends doing service now, or within past 10 yrs or so, and further back, but these gentleman from these generations didn't get ptsd, for the most part. They have it. And talk about those times like they were the best ever sometimes. Even tho I OW they were just as tough, maybe more,in the world wars n stuff they fought in. But almost everyone i know that served past 20 yrs is freaking traumatized. How did they come back and handle that? I know alot came back bad off mentally, but these guys are all something else. I guess maybe back then u cldnt be upset. U just dealt with it or didn't I guess back then. Don't know if it's the way the services are run or what but I swear I see a huge difference. Am I the only one? Any guesses as to why? Like I said, NOT talk8ng crap about any soldiers. Thank EVERYONE FOR THEIR SERVICE! It's just a thought I've had
Melee weapons in close quarters are extremely dangerous and effective even for people with rifles and pistols. Especially with the element of surprise. So that is quite the encounter to speak about as well.
Thank you sir for your service, sacrifice, dedication, determination, sense of duty, love of country, and sharing your story. Jesus Christ bless you all!
@notapplicable430 thats what im saying....despicable really....that tells me he wasnt the only one and that american troops committed as many war crimes mid battle as any one else...
No. If you’re armed in a war zone, you’re a combatant. Non combatants are protected under the rules of engagement, but those protections disappear as soon as you arm yourself or participate in combat operations. Soldiers have the right to defend themselves too!
That's a pretty stupid assessment of the situation from someone that wasn't even there. And alluding to these soldiers being cowardly? This was one of the bravest generations of men to possibly ever exist. You couldn't imagine being in their position. It's entirely possible the old swordsman would have cut them to shreds if he got the jump.

Stop propping one generation over the other. Any generation can be this great if put to the test. We are all human beings.
