    In Australia, Coffs area, they don't bother with room for a tractor they just get a ride and level it whilst making the rows thinner so as not to waste room. It means that you can get twice as much per acre and pay those pickers with slightly more profit left.. imagine if you could machine harvest with a smaller machine :D

      That's true! The tractor shown in this video is a standard utility tractor pulling 6' foot Perfecta cultivator instead of a 5' foot speciality row crop tractor which is typical for closer #field row spacing, which we always recommend. But we liked posting this video showing another #tractor that's more common that most people have which is just a standard utility tractor. But you are right that putting the rows closer with more #blueberry plants surely leads to more pounds of #blueberries per acre and therefore more profit. www.DiMeoFarms.com

      Our pleasure. We want to help people to be successful growing their own #organic #blueberries at home instead of paying big money for tiny little half-pints of them at the supermarket or grocery store. Thanks: www.DiMeoFarms.com/blueberry-plants

    Great video production I will need to Learn more about testing the soil

    • @dimeofarms
      @dimeofarms  3 роки тому +1

      You don't need to test it if you plant with peat moss because peat moss has a very low pH of just 3. So when you mix the peat moss with your soil 50/50 it will put your soil pH quickly within the proper range. You adjust with the amount of peat moss you use. That is the easiest way, instead of spending lots of time trying to play soil scientist.

    Thanks for your instructional videos. How do you cultivate the rows themselves? I have a huge problem with weeds growing up into the rows here in Texas.

      If your keep your field cultivated, like we do using the Perfecta II cultivator, then there won't be any weeds to allow seeds to blow in your rows, of course you will have a few, which can be manually pulled by hand and then hoe the rows. Actually, when you hoe the rows by hand, you will notice an increase in plant vigor, so it's not just that you are weeding, but stimulating growth and at the same time, keeping your rows worked.

    I only have one acre and want to plant as many plants as possible so how close can you plant the row to each other to be a more higher dense acre of blueberries?

    • @dimeofarms
      @dimeofarms  6 років тому +4

      If you only have one acre to plant #blueberries than the answer to your question will be determined by the kind of equipment you intend to the work the ground with. For example, if you plan to use a standard utility tractor, then your rows can be spaced 9' feet between rows and 2.5' feet between each plant, which will take you to around 1,200 plants per acre. But if you want to use a lawn mower or rototiller to work your field, then you can plant the rows much tighter at 6' foot apart and put more #plants per acre. Thank you for your question. Is there a reason you use pelletized sulfur instead of limestone to raise your PH?

    • @dimeofarms
      @dimeofarms  4 роки тому +2

      Use slow-release sulfur to lower your soil pH and the limestone to raise it if it gets down too low. It's very easy to do. Thank you for your blueberry planting question. www.DiMeoFarms.com

    How far apart to you plant your rows?
    Is that an irrigation line running along the plants?

    • @dimeofarms
      @dimeofarms  3 роки тому

      We space our rows of blueberry plants 2.5' feet between each blueberry plant and 9' feet between each blueberry field row. Yes that is drip irrigation line that snakes around every two blueberry plants. Thank you for your question. How many months must give water for a year?

    • @dimeofarms
      @dimeofarms  2 роки тому +1

      Actually, you don't have to water blueberry bushes once they go fully dormant during the winter season. Once winter arrives, and the blueberry bush goes dormant, it stops taking up water, so you only water the plants up until they go dormant and with drip irrigation it's a low pressure system that requires very little water and only a small pump. www.DiMeoFarms.com
