Fellow chicken mama here. 😊 Incessant chirping from your chicks can mean they are chilly. I am sure you know this, but for chicks up to 1 week, the temp on the brooder floor needs to be 95 degrees. Two week old chicks require 90 degrees...three week old chicks need 85 degrees. If you haven't checked the floor temp of your brooder, you might need to adjust your heat lamp height. A quiet chick is a happy chick. 😊 Thanks for the new recipe!

Victoria I love your channel! I'm looking for a really good pie crust recipe. I have tried a ton of almond flour pie crusts and I just don't like them! I know i have to make some sacrafices to stay on my keto diet and as I am also diabetic the einkorn flour mixture is a little too high carb for me.

😍 Love this idea! 💝 I’ve found there are several ways to approach keto danishes, from a cloud bread kinda base - to my own recipe using keto wraps, filled, battered and fried (had one 5 minutes ago, lol… yumm!). It’s possible Victoria’s done this already, as I’ve missed some… 😳 (I WILL catch up! 🥰🥳) but an actual Victoria phyllo dough would be VERY exciting. (Also, I may need to get out more, lol… I’ve become keto baking obsessed - ESPECIALLY - with Victoria’s flours.🥳🤩)

PS while chickens are the most popular bird, we went with ducks when we raised for eggs. Ducks are absolutely hilarious & far more friendlier than chickens. Well, in my opinion anyway. I miss our ducks. We released a few to local ponds before we left. We often go back & visit them. It’s been fun to watch their duck families expand ❤️

I have never eaten or made Texas sheet cake. This looks yummy but the only cookie pans I have are air bake & therefore no sides.
Can this be baked in a regular size sheet cake pan 9x13 just making it thicker? What do you estimate the baking times at?

Made this cake yesterday and it is a big hit in this house! Myself and my daughter's boyfriend are doing keto but both my daughter and grandson loved this. I won't say exactly how good my daughter said it was but from her it was a ringing endorsement. Her boyfriend ate 3 pieces last night. She had to physically stop him from eating more. He came to me after his first piece and said it was the best cake he's ever had. Can't wait to try all the other cake recipes with the New Standard Keto Flour 2.0!

For flying insects, I purchased this and it does work Zevo M4 Insect Trap at Lowes costs about $20.00 mind is the plug-in type and it takes care of Flys and all kinds of flying insects.

I have those also in places the tiny flies go. It catches a lot but in the kitchen it just can't keep up. I place a fan whenever I'm cooking and that keeps them at bay.

I can't believe that with 4 young ones at home you need a pot luck to see that sheet cake disappear within a day or two, it looks so marvelous.
Also, speaking of requests...??? I was making your corn syrup and wondered if I added heavy cream, butter and vanilla to it if I'd have the perfect caramel? I forgot to tell you that I made this last weekend!!! I used to make Texas sheet cake ALLLLLLL the time with Swans cake flour and the icing always reminded me of fudge. Your recipe is spot on! I used about a cup less allulose for the icing because it was plenty sweet for us. ❤️

@7:20, i use powdered erythritol and have no problem with butter..
It would have been nice to see her process of applying the glaze, especially with her negative comments about the erythritol. What effect did she have ?

It might be the additional ingredients in swerve. I've used butter with straight erythritol just fine, but not with swerve. Just a thought. Thanks for the video

I notice you use your VKF and your NSKF? I read in one of your responses on your favorite it was VKF. What is the difference?Can we use the VFK and the NSKF for any recipe? When do we know when to use the VFK? Why is you VFK your favorite?

I like the chopped walnuts sprinkled on top of the glaze. Nuts make everything better...that is if you don't have nut allergies!

A couple of things....
First, for the fly problem, I remember my mom worked at a small cafe that had previously had problems with flies. The owner attached a small box fan at the outside of each entrance, pointing down. This kept the flies from getting in because it messed with their ability to fly as they approached the doors. Probably easier for the restaurant since they had only two openings for the flies (Front customer door and back/kitchen employee door), whereas a house has all the doors plus any windows. However, it was VERY effective.
Second, more of a fun anecdote about chickens...
My new neighbor got some chickens a while back, but the proper fence he ordered for them never came. They're now going wherever they please, including into our yard, and other neighbors yards. I find it funny except the stupid birds are putting themselves at risk. I am keeping an eye on my dogs to make sure they don't attack the chickens, (easy since one behaves if she's yelled at and the other is actually afraid of the chickens), however I'm not sure how aware the other neighbors are of the birds. (Also one of said neighbors has a tiny dog that the chickens might not be afraid of and fight back.)

Allulose is not approved in either the EU nor the UK. So we cannot use it in recipes atm. Any good substitute?

I think traditional sheet cake in Texas has pecans in the glaze or sprinkled on top before you glaze.
That's how our family always made it.
We do pecans also and cinnamon in the cake yummmm

Friend I’m so sorry but if u sub with whey you will not get the same outcome. It won’t rise as high and also will be gooey. Egg is the foundational structure of this flour

She’s saying to use Allulose for glazes and liquid applications instead of erythritol. Erythritol does not caramelize, allulose does. Erythritol recrystallizes as it cools, allulose remains dissolved and emulsified as it cools. Another great application of allulose instead of erythritol is in ice cream; erythritol results in an ice-hard block, whereas allulose allows for smooth scoops. Additionally, Allulose donates ZERO carbs to recipes, whereas half of erythritol’s listed carbohydrates are metabolized as sugar, and should be included in calculating Net Carbs.
Skipping showing us you putting on the glaze was a negative. Sorry Victoria, especially all your comments about the erythrotol being an issue.
