A potluck is a gathering where each person brings a dish to share with everyone. It's a great way to enjoy a variety of homemade food and spend time together. Occasionally, my friends and I gather, each bringing our hometown food to share and chat.
It has been a while since I had such a delicious homecooked meal.
When I went back to Singapore, my good friend whipped up a delicious Singapore-style chili crab. Not to mention, my mother made all my favorite meals that I love. I miss Singapore chili crab, tomato sauce prawns with eggs, and curry chicken!

Thank you for providing me the new sentences.
It' s a little bit different from the potluck mentioned, but I experienced at my friend's rental house. As it was my days in university, we including me are all poor students. One day we decided to gather to one of our friends to decide to eat instant ramen. Yes, it was Ramen party. They brought various instant ramen, such as Chiken Ramen, Demae-Icho, Sapporo-Ramen and do forth. We bought only leeks and shared them. Someone used kettle to eat Ramen. Because bowls are not enough for all of the friends to eat. He put ramen into the kettle and boiled ramen, then he ate. Weirdly speaking, he drank the soup from the mouth og the kettle. Then the ramen noodle came out from the mouth of it. We burst to the laughter. He was ashamed to eat it. We often opened ramen party.

That sounded so fun! University days often come with creative solutions, especially when budgets are tight. Your Ramen party must have been a blast with everyone bringing different types of instant ramen. The story about your friend using a kettle to eat ramen is hilarious!

Thank you for watching today as well! Eating instant ramen in a pot is common, but eating it from a kettle is innovative! When I used to go mountain climbing, I crushed cup noodles and ate them as a snack while on the move!

聴き取れないものは特にありませんが、２番のbe a phone call awayが見たことのない表現だったので少し戸惑いました。推測で正確な訳に辿り着けませんでした…残念。
６番：potluck(ポットラック)という言葉は情報に疎くて単純に知りませんでした😅
Qsensei, being naive, I simply did not know the term potluck.
But I believe there has been this kind of custom in Japan for a long time.
Although it is becoming obsolete due to the nuclear family and the decrease in interaction with neighbors, I guess it is still not an uncommon sight in the countryside.
I thought a little about what I would bring and a picture of Yasuko Sawaguchi's Ritz commercial came to mind.
So I might bring Ritz. lol

No worries, potluck can be a bit of an unfamiliar term! It's interesting how similar customs exist in different cultures. Bringing Ritz to a potluck sounds like a fun and tasty idea.

potluckは試験モノ英語には出てこない単語ですが、ネイティブ感では一般的です！私は某回転寿司のカルビ寿司などを持っていくと、外国の方々には凄く喜ばれますね。
2番のa phone call awayも試験には出てきませんが、これがポッと言えたら少しカッコいい表現ですね。
