Mistakes? All of a sudden, this topic came up. 🙄 We don't make mistakes ... we only make variations to the step sheet. 🤣 Girls, you are getting so much better. Now, you are more critical about your dancing. Maybe you think you have to be perfect? As Ki Ju told me, the key is *to not worry about making mistakes*.
There is an American expression: Everyone makes mistakes. The only people who are not making mistakes are the people who are not doing anything.
We remember this priceless quote:
“Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are not great because of their technique. Great dancers are great because of their passion.”
― Martha Graham (Renowned dancer/choreographer)
Of course, you do not have to be perfect. Talking to Young Madam Seung, I dropped this little bit of wisdom, which includes a prescription, an Rx, and it applies to everyone:
Step sheets are sort of "arbitrary." I mean, a given set of music and song could elicit many different choreographs. If you look at a choreograph, you can easily make small modifications to it, and it will still convey the design intended by the choreographer. There are so many standard steps you can choose from to put into a choreograph. So, if you make a misstep, a mistake, you are only 'modifying the step sheet.' The *KEY* is to be fully connected to the music as you dance. Then any so-called mistakes will come from the heart -- mistakes will fit in, they will make sense, they will be your modification of the step sheet, your 'natural variation' of the step sheet. Mistakes from the heart! 💖
And ... (the prescription) ... Even if your "mistake" doesn't look real cool, maybe you even feel clumsy, simply recover quickly, get past it, move on, keep dancing with the flow ... don't let the mistake throw your entire performance into the toilet.
So ............... A Summary, maybe?
(1) You don't have to dance perfectly.
(2) Do your best to practice your steps, with 선생님 💎Ki Ju씨💎.
(3) But when dancing, try not to be too obsessed with the steps.
(4) Don't worry about making mistakes. It's OK if you do.
(5) Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
(6) Passion is more important than technique.
(7) For the video: connect with the music, be passionate, don't think too much!
(8) If you make a "mistake," it is only your variation of the step sheet 🤣.
Don't worry, don't stop, just have fun with it, *recover* quickly.
Finish your performance with *style* -- your style! 😉
If you mess up, have fun anyway ... the Seoul Imperfect-Dance Squad is not going to show up at your doorstep. 🤣 Have a sense of humor. In the cosmic view of life, a dance mistake is not a catastrophe.
If I may say about Ki Ju ...
Everyone makes mistakes. However, I have never seen Ki Ju make a dance "mistake." But I am sure Ki Ju has done so. I don't notice it because Ki Ju dances with passion, connected to the music, having fun, going with the flow, recovering quickly, and she finishes with style. And that is why I love her...style. 😲 (a tricky English sentence, with possibly more than one meaning; but I am sure the mysterious Gumiho-Ki Ju can shift into both meanings 😊🌹)
@@jamesferguson2247 Ha! I'm beginning to like the Gumiho legends. I read at first that they seduce you to eat your liver and heart. I told Ki Ju that maybe I would give her my heart, but not to eat. And I would not allow her to eat my liver, also. But Lady Too Much assured me that they are friendly Gumihos, and they are safe to be around. It's a wonderful life. As for the topic of "mistakes," I am a master at making mistakes; so I can relate to the girls when they do so, too. 🤣🤣🤣

The subject of making mistakes always comes up, naturally, so I wanted to write down a summary of everything I have said in my replies and comments to the girls. I know you want to dance every day. So cool, you have found your true passion in life. I am sincerely happy for you. I have done Beauty Analysis and Dance Analysis. If I were to do some Psychoanalysis, it would be easy: Even in your words, in your comments, you speak of feelings, energy, passion, fire, hot, the rhythm in your whole body, how things make you FEEL. You are a feeling person, to the extreme. You feel the music, the song lyrics, the vibes of the dance floor. Like Michael Jackson said, you feel the dance even in your blood. Your passionate feelings drive your dancing, not so much all the technical stuff about dancing (which you also know very well).
