    I honestly disagree, I don't think that either the G15 or the M16 scream gamer laptop, they are very elegant looking, and non-gamers wouldn't be able to tell that it was built for gaming.

    Bought the M16 last week, it's the i9 with 3070ti. I think this combination is the sweet spot for my use case. Since I do a lot of 3D modelling and rendering in school and have a desktop at home with similar specs. So if you are looking for a laptop that is both portable and powerful, I would really recommend the M16 for architecture students like me

      Same here, I think the design is crisp on Blade 15. For the battery, it all depends on your specs. None of the gaming laptops I ever touched had decent battery life. That's why I didn't even mention it in the video. There is no battery strong enough that would be able to give enough power to GPU and last more than 2 hours, at least not in a thin laptop scenario. In 2007, I bought a fully loaded Alienware laptop that was running Crysis on full settings and didn't even lag. It was way too expensive, like arm and leg expensive. The battery would last in gameplay for about 50 minutes. Now, if you compare the power needs of modern components, it didn't get better over the years. So being able to squeeze 2 hours of gameplay is a progress in my books :)
      This is why I am all for mid specs on gaming laptops, gives you better battery life if you need it and lets you play modern games in relatively good resolution and settings.

      @iFrostReaper I doubt it gives more in case of these laptops, 2022 M16 with new chips etc was crushing just as well as 2021 G15 did, if not more often. Hence, 2022 G15 should be on par with M16.
      Yet, on it's own, 12 Gen Intel chipset is a different beast to work with.

      @@RomanDoes Have you ever get sudden frame drops in game ? well it could be bc without MUX switch it runs through CPU and its iGPU first before reaching dGPU and it switches between the two depending on how demanding the task is so if for example you enter more graphically demanding area it takes time to switch between the two and results in FPS drops. Same can happen if you zoom in or increase details in programs for content creation that use GPU. MUX just routes your display directly to dGPU and saves you the trouble bringing the consistency and FPS increase by around 10%.
      In case you want to dismiss the MUX switch still 2022 G15 is stronger performer then G15 of 2021 as its dGPU runs higher TGP and it is also Ti version and has newer generation of CPU which still makes the comparing the laptops a little unfair.
      Also M16 and G15 and G14 of 2022 all have MUX switch which is active if you switch to Ultimate mode in Armory Crate just so you know.

    • @RomanDoes
      @RomanDoes  Рік тому

      @iFrostReaper cannot disagree on any point. However, in my specific setup of CPUs and GPUs in this video, there is plenty of power across all machines, neglected problem with all of them is a limited airflow. Specifically M16 where it shuts down whole system not because it has trouble switching MUX, it has trouble to stay alive because of the heat it produces. And airflow is not limited due to the bad design, I think it's maxed out to its potential, instead it's limited by the form factor.

    • @RomanDoes
      @RomanDoes  2 роки тому +4

      That is a tough question. I like razer 15 a lot for the size, but speaker sound and the fact that it comes with clocked down 3080Ti GPU, kinda pushes me away towards M16. On M16 I liked the performance and the display, but downside of the power is the heat and noise. Plastic body looks cheap on it as well, keyboard feels cheaper too.
      So if I had to make choice today between these 3 laptops, I would go with razer, but with QHD display, 3060Ti and i7, and ignore the poor sound quality.
      Oh, and if I had to get 3080ti on razer, the only option in 2022 is the 17 inch model as it comes with fully power 165w version.

Unfortunately it only has 1920x1200 resolution but it is small 16" laptop and still 16:10 so it will be nice screen, I think. I'm picking one up today and am excited to try it, if it goes bad I could also go for the XPS 15 i7/3050ti but I'm afraid it will not have
      the power for my games, and 60hz screen. XPS is my favourite of all designs though
