    With the amount of leg, core and upper body strength it takes to throw and hold girls in the air, the communication, coordination, trust, technique, practice, injuries and flexibility that go into stunts and tumbling. Some still don’t consider us a sport.

      What about gymnastics it’s much harder than cheer. All the girls have to do is stand up and flip and make sure the guys catch them

      @@AbeNissen-zl1uhthe message clearly went over someone’s head. I’m not comparing cheer to other sports, I’m explaining how we are a sport. I’d like to see you try if you think it’s so easy. Please. Go and say it’s easy to the girls that are permanently disabled, have had severe concussions, broken bones, paralyzed and dead because of how “easy” cheer is.

      Why did disabled people have to come into this convo and plus it is easy

      That’s why so many people do it even far girls

    It’s crazy how ppl say cheer isn’t a sport because I would like to see them go in the air relying on there base to hold them up and the amount of pressure they have on them and ppl counting on them ❤ also I do cheer

      Not to mention how much there is to flying. You’re not just standing there. You’re holding half of your own weight so you don’t put all of the stress on your bases. It also requires a whole lot of balance too. There’s always more than meets the eye, that’s what they don’t realize

    I think it is a sport! I did cheer 1 time for school because I wanted to try tumbling in grass and it just looked fun in general lol now I love tumbling on grass I’d do it again but I don’t have time ! (I’m a gymnast btw)

    WHEN I WAS IN CHEER PEOPLE SAID ITS JUST GIRLS LOOKING PRETTY FOR THE BOYS AND THATS IT

      Me and my cheer team don’t care about the boys any. We just trying to make sure our flyers don’t die and we don’t look stupid out there

    Same I hate it when people say “oh horse riding isn’t a sport” sorry but neither is football all you do is run there is more effort in horse riding than that

    Theres different types of cheer but when your not throwing people up or doing anything that could cause and injury i dont call it a sport but yes when they are doing flips throwing eachother up and all dat i think its a sport

  • @AbeNissen-zl1uh
    @AbeNissen-zl1uh Місяць тому +1

    No it’s not. It’s a sport if there is an Olympic team

    • @RoxanneEditzz.13
      @RoxanneEditzz.13  Місяць тому +1

      No offense, but that is one of the stupidest reasonings I’ve heard so far. Honest. There doesn’t need to be a professional team for it to be a sport. If you can get an athletic scholarship for it, it’s a sport.

    • @AbeNissen-zl1uh

      First of all I don’t think cheer leaders can’t do any other sports so all they can do if flip and land

      @@AbeNissen-zl1uhI’m a cheerleader and I do soccer and track as well. We are not limited to one sport. We practice, work out and get injuries just as bad as any other sports. You could sprain and break bones, get concussions and some very serious shin splints if you do even the slightest thing wrong in cheerleading. You don’t just get good at throwing and holding 100+ pound girls in the air either, that requires upper body, core and leg strength. In other words you have to be strong and have muscle. We have techniques just like any other sport.

      @@RoxanneEditzz.13 I mean I get your argument but there is no like points like in football you score a touchdown and get 6 points but do you get points for making a pyramid in cheerleading also it is not like a team vs a team or person vs person it is one group goes and then another goes instead of a face off but I get your reasoning and I respect your opinion

    • @RoxanneEditzz.13

      @@curly-que30 well certain schools and teams don’t do cheer battles but those do happen and exist. Theres also cheer competitions. Everyone wants a title of champion, you know? Both of those are considered team vs team. Cheer battles may not get you points or anything, but from the perspective of a cheerleader, shame if you don’t win.

    • @RoxanneEditzz.13

      That and we also have flyers lives in the palm of our hands. We don’t want flyers falling out of stunts and breaking their backs, getting a concussion ect. cause it has happened. I feel like that’s more important than any score could ever be.
