After all my years in Qigong and Taiji you are the first I have come across that goes deeply into the root of raal understanding of Qigong and Taiji and how it should work. Thank you, thank you. I will be watching all your videos to reeducate my knowledge of these life long arts that I have come to love over the past five decades. My past masters never got into the depth of this because they wanted me to first learn techniques which I got hooked on and never went beyond this type of education. As the saying goes your never to old to learn new things and you have just proven that to me.
Thanks Ian ( want to be called by your first name ) for your explanations on Peng . You have a very simple way to explain things very deep . Your motto "Relax harder" is the paradox that sums up the point : it is soft power . Your humility , combined with a rare ability teaching playful but serious , approaching more and more practitioners . Thanks to Ian from distant Italy , to all of you for sharing.
"Technique itself will not work - techniques do not work. They will not work on their own. You have to have at least some method of applying them, and you have to have some inherent internal quality to make it work." [16:05]
I really like the log analogy. Accepting and not resisting is an extremely hard concept to internalize. A lot of good information on this vid really enjoy watching :D
Thank you for the great video. Hope to come up and train with you some day. Spent a weekend with Sam Masich a few weeks back. It was a transformative experience. I forgot to tell him about your shout out in the previous video.
Have I just gone through a couple pages of comments under a traditional martial art video without once seeing anything like "You, man, if that kanfu of yours is so strong, why don't you show it in a real fight?!" I guess then, miracles happen sometimes)
It is a great video. Thank you for it. The analogy with the floating (spinning) log in water was explanatory enough for me to (finally) understand the peng and lu energies. As I could see its usage is probably most effective against pushes and holds - can it be used against strikes? If so, how? Could you please make another video about it? Or are there other energies better against strikes? Good work Ian
Hi hope you are well. Have been watching your videos, which I love and came across this one. When you say stand in Zhan zhuang for 1 hour a day, is that 1 hour none stop or can it be done in say 10 or 20 min segments? Take care. Stay safe.
" The quickest way to get from A to B is to already get there" I take you mean strike first before the fight starts? Also Ian I don't understand not needing to fight if you have Pung Ging, does this mean your Pung Ging will ground you to the earth and deflect any strikes coming at you? I love the idea of inflicting pain without having to put in much energy, great video
Thank you. How do you find a "teacher"? I live in an area that has not a lot of "popular" spiritual disciplines; the deep south. I am middle aged and relatively in good health, but all the videos in the world will not overcome my "laziness". I need a teacher. Maybe not ready, but time is running out. PEACE to all - warrior.

Hello Ian,
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with simplicity and make it so accessible.
Man, what a teacher and what a great lesson!

Finally, a well-spoken martial artist. I thoroughly enjoyed this video for both its content and presentation. Thank you for sharing.
That is the best demonstration of sung I have seen in a long time!
i enjoy Mr. Sinclair's approach to understanding the principles of Tai Chi...demystified... with out the smoke and mirrors....
Really exquisite lesson, a real treat and treatise at the same time. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing so many videos. I always enjoy these videos.
Thanks for the insight and encouragement, I might catch on one of these days.
I'm going to steal that one. Thanks again Ian for sharing.
I really enjoy the way you teach! You make it so clear (and I don't even do Tai-Chi!) ....This should be the center of every kind of martial art.
Very nice teacher. Very. Congrats tai chi panda (liked that too). Direct to the center of martial art the art of life.
Another great presentation thank you Ian.
"I'm trying to use a technique against a quality" beautiful
Thank you for the great video. Hope to come up and train with you some day. Spent a weekend with Sam Masich a few weeks back. It was a transformative experience. I forgot to tell him about your shout out in the previous video.

You work your way up to 1 continuous hour (non stop).
Start with 5 minutes, add 1 minute a week. You'll be up to an hour in a year.
Some will do 5 minutes 12 times per day, and gradually swap duration for frequency.

Very clearly explained. Very good work as usual

Always outstanding instruction.
Love it. Sifu S is always good
Bonjour Ian,do you have a video on the use of "levers" by any chance? Merci
impressive stuff
Great and clear explanation
Is "method" the way you train a technique? Or is it an attribute needed to apply a technique?
thanks
great lesson
I recall sammo Hung, nice techniques
Damn I miss my tai chi lessons :( you seem to be good teacher and you look like younger version of my tai chi teacher as well
very well explained!
Great video
great path to follow
Thank u very much
Your humility reminds me of my Sifu.
This is very interesting.
The noise(s) made @ 13:48 gets funnier with each viewing :)
Where do you teach?
Good analogies.
I am the "Analo-jesus"
yeah, you don't do the form, the techniques, the methods....you become them. A very nice how do you do is....I don't ! haha
