Tom has the best footwork of any HW. Also the fastest feet of any HW. Dude can grapple as well. Lots of exciting fights ahead for Tom. Jon Jones doesnt want non of Tom.

We have 1 guy who was the champ that wants to fight (Stipe), 1 guy who isn't champ but never lost the belt,(Francis), one guy who is the champ but is injured (Jon) 1 guy who just became champ (Tom) and 2 guys who lots of people think could be the champ (Sergei and Cyril). There are so many loose ends at HW it's hard to wrap your head around.
Sergei got starched in the 1st round by Tom.. And Bones choked out Cyril in seconds..
Not sure that lots of people think these guys could be champs.. More like gatekeepers or below.

Tom Aspinall vs Curtis Blaydes would be interesting since it’s in the Blaydes fight he got injured.
That’s the right fight to make as I’m pretty sure Blaydes gave Tom an opportunity against a Top 10 guy where others wouldn’t.
It’s going to be a race between Blaydes and Gane as to who gets a win first and can then call Tom out on the public stage as they’re both on a loss right now and can’t really go into a title/interim fight from that.

You bring up a great point. Tom showed a lot of heart and survived the initial onslaught from Sergey, something no other man has been able to do. But what happens if his opponent can do the same and it goes into the deep waters? We saw this when Francis first fought Stipe. It’s going to be real interesting
Rim did the same. Sidelnikov also. Although all three done in different ways. Rim clinch with him, Kirill outbrawl him and Tom out kickboxim so to speak.
Onslaught? One good shot connected, Tom shook it off then went to work hit him with two quick combos and it was done. Wouldn’t call that first shot (singular) an onslaught.

What I’m saying is Tom got through the first few minutes of the fight and many man before him have not been able to do that. I think you've hit the nail on the head, I was in Tom's camp and thought the way to victory would be to take him down and submit him. The thought of Tom winning on the feet hadn't really crossed my mind, which makes his victory all the more special. He beat the Russian Sniper at his own game. - Would love to see Stipe vs Tom but I think Tom vs Cyril is more likely... even though it feels like Cyril was ducking Tom hard.

Aspinals background is originally wrestling and he then became a master striker so yes he could have wrestled or underhooked if needed,Aspinal has a lot of aspects to his game.
I thought Tom would get it done, cause he's the most complete in the division, I thought he'd be able to take Pavlovich down and keep grinding, beating him on the ground, making him work his way back up, beat his legs and body with kicks, take him down again, beat up on the ground some more... not a second in my life did I think he'd just find his range and have Pavlovich on skates with a one-two, all in the first round? in under 2 minutes? I don't think any of us, even the ones of us who thought Tom would win, thought that Tom would make it look THAT easy, crazy

I won $2000 on Tom winning in the first. Figured it'd be KO or a sub. I've been saying it, he's the better striker too. And he hits harder than Ngannou. Yes, I'm serious. This man touches people and they go down. His fight time and KO ratio proves it. No one else matches his.
If Leon retains his belt next month, they need to make Tom the unified HW champ, give him stipe or whoever and let's headline a stadium with our 2 uk champions and make history
Stipe looked terrified when the camera swung to him. He just said 'wow' and looked like he had just seen a ghost. Everyone knew tom was the full package but alot of people doubted his knockout power. And what tom did was tick the last box that people had doubts over. Now there are no doubts that tom can stand and bang with the big boys and win a fight anywhere. Stipes face was a picture, it said i don't want none of that smoke
Tom has a chance to take over this somewhat underwhelming aging heavy weight division.. his potential if he improves and stays sharp is unfathomable

I had been saying Tom by KO since Jones got injured and the Tom/Sergei, BUT I did not expect it to be in the first round. In fact I had been saying that Tom had to get Sergei out of the first round, drain a bit of that Russians power, then start throwing his power shots and to take it even further I believed that the longer the fight went on, the later the round gave Tom the best chance for KO. I still believe that Toms advantage would have only gotten bigger the longer the fight went on but he sure didn’t need to wait to find out. Scary to know that Tom is known for having great cardio and his fights or his performances could get even better than what we’ve seen. He hasn’t had to show us much and from what I hear, his bag of tools runs deep. 🤯

Soon as I saw him blow through Spivak live I knew he was special. I fully expected him to starch Pavlovic as he has with every one of his opponents. He'd given me no reason not to believe that. Where as Pavlovic had given plenty of reasons to believe he would be finished by Tom easily. People only look at the last fight someone had and act like they will do that to everyone they face. You have to look at the whole picture. He smokes Gane and Jones too.
I mean just watch him up against arlovski. That fight convinced me he was special

I’ve been watching UFC since Tito vs Chuck 2 and I must say, if Stipe were to walk in front of me, I wouldn’t even know it.
There are so many things we have not seen from Tom. I mean, we're yet to find someone who can survive the first round. With this history, I understand why it won't happen but a fight with Cyril would be interesting. Stipe is also interesting. Heavyweight is very interesting again
He would murder stipe. And I'm a massive stipe fan. I honestly think he'd submit gane in a round 1 aswell.

I took shit all week on here for saying Aspinal would dominate Pavolich and it wouldn't even be close. I compared it to Ciryl vs Lewis and I threw 100$ on Tom to win by KO/sub and won a pretty penny

Sergei is scary but throws wide punches,tom has more speed and speed beats power but Tom seemingly has Speed and power and i put a lot of thought into this fight,i picked Tom by Rnd 3 KO.Some said it was stopped early but that uppercut did cause Sergei to lose his legs then those elbows, Sergei was hurt n had 4-5 people standing around him to make sure he was ok.Tom is only vonna get better,this was his biggest fight, Madison square garden and who bis opponent was but this kid is explosive so that early finish prob surprised everyone but can Tom go deep into a fight or wrestle? We dont know cuz he finishes his opponents pretty quickly n bounced back well from his leg injury

Chael you are right that Muhummad Ali could have gone down 7 lbs but in those days there was no cruiserweight division to go to.
Tom needs to defend his interim belt vs stipe within the next 3-4 months. then the winner faces Jon 3-4 months after that. It lines up perfectly. And stipe wanted to fight anyway
I'm a big fan of Tom and on a more occasions than not, he has surprised me. I thought he would lose and he wins, he's a beast. I will keep thinking he will lose as a good luck thing

It sounds wild but it's possible, esp w/ an older jones, but also post injury juice jones, well see. Never seen a hw move as fast as aspinall, and pavlovich isn't a chump either, he is legit the #1 or 2 contender along w gane. stipe doesn't fight but for titles so i'm excluding him from the convo, but if anyone had a chance of beating jones it MAY be him....
