  • Host Jason Mitchell joins Ken Schmidt on Fort Peck Reservoir in eastern Montana during early May. The anglers showcase productive tactics and strategies for finding early season walleye. Fan casting 1/4 ounce jigs tipped with three-inch Kalin's Lunker Grubs to cover multiple depths to stay on fish that move throughout the day.

    What kind of line and leaders were on your jigging rods??

    What kind of line and leader should I use for trolling crankbaits on fort peck in the summer for walleyes??? Also how long of a leader ?

      +Jack Anderson we use a lot of ten pound Fireline and either long line crankbaits or use a clip on snap weight to get deeper. We haven’t found where we need to use a fluorocarbon leader on Fort Peck.

      Is leadcore good ?

    • @JasonMitchellOutdoors
      @JasonMitchellOutdoors  5 років тому

      @@summitreigns1657 yes typically run 18 lb lead core with a ten pound Fireline leader that is two arm lengths long.

      Jason Mitchell Outdoors is the precision trolling app accurate with leadcore and a different leader then what they have

      +Jack Anderson should be close, thought the app had a ten pound mono leader at twenty feet, the lead core will actually run just a touch deeper with a shorter lead.
