Why not just avoid this weak point in the design and use a a pattern that would match in place !!!!!!!!!!! I hate all these keys! They are simply a weak point !

Main difference in parallel and square sunk keys?
square sunk keys could be tapper while parallel sunk keys are uniform throughout the cross section...
What is the benefit of the woodruff key? Why is it curved?

why to use keys in shaft or even in hub???
to prevent relative motion between them(shaft and rotating machine element (hub))
