This song means a lot to me. Recently my best friend and I started dating. I've loved him for the longest time, and apparently he felt the same...well one day we were hanging out at his house and he pulled out his phone and played this song, when the part "If they could love like you and me imagine what the world could be" he stopped it and looked me in the eyes before saying he had to show me something. He brought me into his room and right next to his bed there is a picture of us from last holloween and right under that picture was those words again "If they could love like you and me imagine what the world could be". He told me he had loved me for a very long time and that I saved him from himself, which is true in a way, when I became friends with him a few years ago, and he said by this point I was the good in his world and if the whole world could love the way I loved him, the way I put myself through all I have so that he'd be okay. I think this song is about that. Not the world deciding not to lie or to love more. But to find someone or something in the world that makes you want to care that much, and if everyone felt that maybe our world would be a better place
I read an article about a guy who went to see both nickel back and creed the same night. He came to the conclusion that it's because people feel the need to hate things in life even if they have no reason to. It makes them feel like they have an opinion that they don't need others to agree on. And then you have the followers who have no opinion and decide to follow the crowd to keep themselves from looking stupid. It's a sad world we live in where hate is the new love.

Last year, there was a girl who used to go to my schoo, who killed herself. I made the choice of getting over my stage fright and performing this in her name at the end of my school year. My last year of Junior High will end with me singing this song in her name in front of about 100 people. It's an honours assembly, so anyone who I've ever had any (Good) contact with is going to be there to see. I still have a lot of time to prepare. About... 4-6 months I believe. I plan to leave my mark on this school in a way that nobody will forget.

The lyrics are really good and inspiring, and I love many of their songs, I'll give you that. But it's far from being my favorite band because they all sound the same, if you put them low enough in the background noise that you can't understand the lyrics, it's hard to tell which song it is because of that. The voice, the music, the choral and all, it's almost always on the same tone or pretty close to it.
I didn't like this song, till we heard it in the English-Lesson yesterday (I'm from Germany and in our Book is the text). Now I wanted to hear it again, because I think that the Chorus makes much sense. If I've learned one thing from the world it's don't trust anybody. I've always tried to help people and be their friend. I also try to stay mellow and calm, but in this world that's near impossible. It seems to be a social norm to just abandon and betray each other. I try my best to keep from being like that, which is difficult. I don't know if I should just stop giving people chances or what.
Don't give up....you should enjoy helping people and being interpersonal stay who you are and be strong enough to shrug off the people who don't deserve your attention. Eventually you will attract people who respect you and like you for being caring. I am the same way just know when not to let people take advantage of you. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt and show respect until they prove they don't deserve it. They are the ones missing out. The world will only get worse if people like us give up.

The lyrics are really good and inspiring, and I love many of their songs, I'll give you that. But it's far from being my favorite band because they all sound the same, if you put them low enough in the background noise that you can't understand the lyrics, it's hard to tell which song it is because of that. The voice, the music, the choral and all, it's almost always on the same tone or pretty close to it.
I didn't like this song, till we heard it in the English-Lesson yesterday (I'm from Germany and in our Book is the text). Now I wanted to hear it again, because I think that the Chorus makes much sense.

I think that this is the best way to say what the world looks like and what its problem is. (And I think that I can tell my class that this song is absolutely wonderful.)

If I've learned one thing from the world it's don't trust anybody. I've always tried to help people and be their friend. I also try to stay mellow and calm, but in this world that's near impossible. It seems to be a social norm to just abandon and betray each other. I try my best to keep from being like that, which is difficult. I don't know if I should just stop giving people chances or what.

Don't give up....you should enjoy helping people and being interpersonal stay who you are and be strong enough to shrug off the people who don't deserve your attention. Eventually you will attract people who respect you and like you for being caring. I am the same way just know when not to let people take advantage of you. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt and show respect until they prove they don't deserve it. They are the ones missing out. The world will only get worse if people like us give up.

I found this song by accident and in few seconds it already became one of my favorite Nickelback songs. Simply outstanding.
Well, for a moment, let's focus on the positives. It may not be everyone, but a bunch of people do care, you do get honest people somewhere, and we should be greatful for that. Sure, there's the negatives, but that never stops you from being happy and caring. You, me, and LOADS of people care, we're together! Don't get me wrong, the bad stuff will never stop, but good things will always be immortal, as long as your happy and know that you do care and stay you, we can keep the people that care, keep caring! :) be happy about the good things we have.

Nickelback was played at my uncle's funeral. I bursted into tears as soon as I walked in there and heard this. He loved this band!
On a scale of 1 to 10, this song reached a whopping 100 on my feels meter.
this song stands out cuz people are filled with hatred these days. A friend from church told me a friend of his commit suicide cuz he was told nobody cares about him. That just pissed me off. you see, when it comes to this song, there's two kinds of people: the sad people who relate to this, and the angry people who understand what the lyrics are saying (I'm the first one btw). There's just so much crap wrong with the world, that we can't focus on finding the good out there. With everything, from politics, terrorism and rape, to hatred, rage and evil, what good is "peace on earth" if there's no peace!
That's why I'm wondering: why aren't other songs like this? an can't more songs talk about kindness and love, not anger and despise.

How I would love for that day to come. But sadly it seems impossible. There are a billion people in the world and half of them are too stubborn and selfish to understand that war and hater doesn't solve anything but makes matters worse not just for them but for everyone else.
