Hi 👋, great to see you on this blog ! & Brought back memories of me being “ on the back “ of nos. 37, 2b , 68 ,and the 137 s in the 80’s , via the West Norwood garage !
Very enjoyable vlog. I have always liked the Routemaster and it was good to see one in proper use again. Pleased that you got the camera turned the right way when showing yourself.
@@thatbusdriverguy4182 Mikey is best conductor in London ♥️ He’s so knowledgeable, passionate & kind. I call him the Walking Encyclopedia. I’m so glad you chased down the bus. You two are meant to meet 😊
Mike is a true gentleman. Love his "Good Moaning" intro to his vids, he must be a "Allo, Allo" fan,
Oh yes! Watched it back in the 1980s where Officer Crabtree was my favourite character!
Great video Leonard brought back pleasant memories when London Transport was at its finest
Great video . Love the RM and when I was youngster in the 60's the RTs were still around
I have fond memories of the Rm and Rml I started visiting London in 1989. Who would have thought that fast forward to 2002 I would end up training as a bus driver under Tfl and working for First capital based in Rainham Essex.
Wow
great video i drive in cornwall would love a go at some london routes. cant beat a routmaster lovely condition that one. great conducter wish we had them we still take cash and issue tickets nightmare when really busy
Your channel is just brilliant, really takes me back 🔙 I once lived on 15 RM route Commercial Rd 👏 Fabulous & Lewisham borough Sydenham & Forest Hill 👍

Thank you for the video really enjoyed watching. brought back a lot of happy memories of me travelling to London back in the 1990s/early 2000s. travelling on the RM RML are used to buy a travel card as it was, but then and go all around central London.
Thanks
So so true about attracting things law of attraction and that and very very true about doing something you love for a living and never working as you enjoy it , 👊🏿❤️ You and Mike should meet up at one of those Bus running days/Garage Events think that would be a good video , good video anywho loving the channel and have you ever driven a RM ?
Yes I have driven Route master, when I was a engineer I use to test them drive them
Amazing video love your stuff man keep it up
loved this, what a beautiful video in many ways.
Thank you so much!
Another great video Len! All the best. 😊
Brilliant video, I love visiting London once a year with my wife and son for a few days visiting as many attractions as possible, amazing place, not been on a London bus for a while but will have to next time, normally get the tube around as convenient coming from Euston after getting train from Manchester, anyway enjoying the videos as always!
Thanks
You should be a tourist guide.
Not many people know about the City of London, so well done.
At weekends it's deserted (like a ghost town, especially Sun's.).
I think the video might produce better appeal in warmer months.
Yeah it was a dreary day, it does get busy up there at certain times
To think that when the Routemaster was designed it was a bus to replace London's once-large trolleybus fleet between 1959 and 1962. Also it was supposed to have a life span of just 17 years - if that were to be the case then the last Routemasters in London would have ran in the late 1970s. Thankfully politics and good fortune have made the Routemaster the icon it is today and it is a bus that everybody knows by just its model name. 2024 marks 70 years since RM 1 was launched to the world at the 1954 Commercial Motor Show in Earl's Court and thankfully all four Routemaster prototypes (RM 1, RM 2, RML 3 and CRL 4) are preserved and above all in running order once again.
Nice bit of history, thanks
Ohh the days of a routemaster and a friendly conductor.
Hi mate you’ve got a nice 1965 RML from 65 production was to this longer length except the BEA airport buses ,your one could of been one of the country area buses delivered in Lincoln green even though they got refurbished in the early 90s we had some at bush still with the underneath of the bonnet in green as it was moulded in green fibreglass 😂,so glad to have driven them in service mate
Cheers
Mark 😊😊
Thanks for the details, I did see nice video that talked about that
@@thatbusdriverguy4182 your welcome my friend be safe out there
Going back a while I met a gentleman who came over from Barbados in 1956 as a bus driver .The wage then I think he said was £6 a week
Thank you! I like to watch streets of London, how is life going on in this great town
Good! Thanks
Life is really doing good, all the tourist are back, a very Vibrant
That Routemaster used to be painted green, it often served on the 480.
Yeah another person mentioned wow, this bus is famous
For Routemasters - See Pete and His Bus
I squirm at some of your history stuff, but enjoy the bus stuff!
Different perspectives being a passenger
Mike of The Bill reunion fame also.
Did you drive a Route master
does the heritage service run again? Is it an official tfl service?
Heritage route T15 runs daily from Trafalgar Square to Tower Hill via the route 15 stops with two Routemasters in service. Fares are £2.50 for a Single and £1 for Children. It is not a TfL bus service as that is why it charges these fares.
@@MikeGMcDermott ah, alright. Was there a tfl service before covid?
@@austriankangaroo Yes it was a TfL service originally but it was withdrawn in 2019 as the original Heritage Route 15 run by TfL was not making money.
@@MikeGMcDermott why not taking part in the national £2 fare promotion ( too much hassle to apply for DFT rebate ?)
@@highpath4776 We do charge £2.00 for students aged from 16 to 21.
0:55 London summed up in one clip.
New route master you don't need conduter but old you need it .
The new route master use to have conductor but its phased out now
@@thatbusdriverguy4182 Passenger Service Assistant. In Oxford we had roadside conductors peak hours - I think london had a few ( and of course they had them for the Wimbledon Tennis/ Epsom Races specials - are you doing Wimbledons or the T15 takes up all your time ) (ps looks like London General have given up the Epsom-Epsom Racecourse route , dont know when the 406F last ran nor the specials from Morden)
Did you link his youtube
Yeah I subscribed to him
Excellent video bruv, enjoyed it!
Rip bike😂
Last RTs ran in london 1979.
