I disagree. I believe God uses sickness to bring us back to him if we’ve rebelled. The goal is to restore us not to make us chronically ill. Its for correction and to keep us from being destroyed by our own sin. We repent and turn back, we get healed. If we don’t, we may remain ill or he may take our lives. Its not always sin that causes sickness (generational curses, lifestyle and soul wounds do also) but for the sake of this argument on why GOD Himself would inflict sickness. Deut 32:39 and Jer 30:12-17.
James Mckellar , then it would have been very unjust for Jesus to command us to do the same works He did, and even greater works than He did (john 14:12) if He had given us a lesser anointing. The reason Jesus operated with such power is that He was not hindered by polluted thinking. We are a spirit with a soul (mind will emotions)and we live in a body, and though our spirit is born again, created in God’s image (2 cor 5:17 & 1 John 4:17) with the same resurrection power on the inside (rom 8:11), it is the soulish part of us that hinders us and gets in the way by wrong thinking. This is what Paul says... to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. This is why Paul also instructs us to renew our mind in order to see power and transformation in,our lives Rom12:1-2
