Real shit

Quick story.i always jammed to this beat back in the day. Back in 1995 i was playing it and what do you know spice moved in undern4me iny apartment in northern cali, homie was cool, even went down stairs and smoked a few blunts and heard some mixes before they came out.
Spice 1 so underrated. It’s sad
Not sad only real one know
Is he?
"Sendin troops to the ghetto like the Middle East"... Spice ahead of his time...
Not really, for they rioted major cities back in the 60s, and you had the LA riot in the 90s. In which at some point the military was called in. So Spice 1 was just speaking on history, but perhaps he did know history would repeat itself.
Then been doing that since the 60s

Man I'm glad that I grew up in the 80s and 90s and was able to be exposed to Hip Hop like this. Even gangster rap had substance, meaning, and lessons back then

He's not a gangsta! Too educated for that- he's a gifted artist. One that made some good choices! Ya dig.

Pac looked up to spice 1 alot he used alot of this slang and story telling style in his music
❤
True story
They borrowed from each other a lot like good friends should he said it in his art of dialogue interview
Spice told me in 2007 that the biggest album Pac ever had was when he and Spice made an album together.
Spice was the first pac... pac took alot of his stee, they ain't go speak on it tho
I was 15 years old when this came out remember it like it was yesterday!!! Straight classic!!! Still relevant to this day!!!!! New school take notes!!!!

Same here...I remember that summer like yesterday
I was fifteen also 76 baby
im 33 and am not gone lie spice one the truth just got hip today facts
Thats just it they cant they wearing themselves thin
Man there was something so genuine and real about rappers in the 90s..It's crazy even when they would make a club banger type song they always had a balance between real issues in the black community and other real world issues we go through. Nowadays all it seems is non-stop hype songs, very rarely do you see rappers keeping the balance that the 90s had.
Wodchly, I've been saying that shit for years. And I've been waiting for somebody to say what you said on UA-cam, so these young bubble head MF's of today can understand how deep rap music was in the 90s.
not listened to anything after 2002 tbh
because they was all from the streets. not no pretendo bullshit now adays
Exactly what I was going to say. Rappers back in the day were actual gangsters or at very least came from the streets. These rappers today came up through UA-cam in their parents basement.
haha or soundclick or whatever that shit is. nice evo btw. i subbed hah
The 90 's were the shit. . Nothing out nowdays even compares.

Classic song , back in the day when rappers were real and used to expose the problems of his community.
You get that right
Word

Anthony Reynoso news flash cuh from Texas he just repped the bay!
Man he is from the Bay, went to school in Hayward. I used to kick it with back then when he used to sport his drop 5.0 in the early 90's. His roots do come from Texas but he is Bay Area all day everyday.
I'd rate him up there with Too Short and E-40

Where did you meet?
@warrendchild met him in a W. Sacramento music studio off Jefferson. I think it was Kilos studio C-Bo's producer. We had him as a feature as he was a platinum selling Artist. He showed up by himself but he did have a tek-9 with him. We even seen Brother Lynch roll through the parking lot but he didn't stop because he didn't recognize any of the cars there. overall great experience. We stayed in touch one of my singers ended up joining Spice-1s group, his name was Mr. Goodbar this was in 2000. We would go to Spice-1s house in Salida until he moved after getting shot at in his drive way. For me he was an all time favorite as i use to spit his Welcome to the Ghetto song word for word.

Hero number one
if you were given a free ticket to paradise, would you go? Ask yourself, "Where is Paradise and what would you find there?" Beaches, palms, and surf? Mountains and snow-capped peaks? Is Paradise the unity of mankind and peace on earth?
Paradise is actually the place where God dwells. Most people think they will go to Paradise when they die, but let's see if that's true. Have you ever lied or stolen? Liars and thieves will not be in Paradise. Have you lusted after others, or dishonored your parents? Have you cursed the God who created Paradise? If any of these are true, you've offended Him and broken His Law. Instead of entering Paradise, the penalty for your crimes will be eternal death in Hell. However, God offers Paradise to those who bring Him a sinless payment for their sins. Your goodness and good deeds are not that sinless payment. God will only accept the sacrifice of His sinless Son, Jesus Christ. Anyone who repents and believes in Him will be cleansed of their sins and given that free ticket to Paradise! Jesus promised the thief on the cross who trusted in Him: "... Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43)
Do not live in a "fool's" Paradise thinking this life is all there is. God is inviting you to the "real" Paradise through faith in Jesus Christ. When you breathe your last breath and life on earth is over, will it be Paradise "lost" or Paradise "found" for you?
I wish I could listen to songs like this nowadays , 90s rap music was definitely the best.

The Original Eastbay Gangsta and one of the most underrated hip hop artists ever. His first two albums were classics and his debut 'Spice 1' can be argued as the 'template' or blueprint for West coast hiphop gangsta lifestyle to this day. I always thought he and Pac woulda worked more together, Spice schooled him to the game in the Bay. They were supposed to be on "One Nation", an east/west collaboration 2pac was doing, but it never transpired as the 10-20 tracks had artists from a variety of labels who all wanted to capitalize on Pac's death and the project.
To all you youngins, under 25, please download Spice 1's self titled 'Spice 1' debut album and personally write me if you don't love it. Keep in mind that this era was very strong with racial tension, the riots, O.J., and gangs and rappers telling stories about this struggle were not only being indirectly blamed, but record companies were scrambling to find the next Too Short, Dre, 2pac, etc.
The most underrated....He should be mentioned with PAC...Cbo also
He did a song with PAC cbo from my other hometown Sacramento but he wasn't rapping about things like this
Born in 1994 raised on 106&park and RapCity. I use to be into that new age Crunk Trap era for the longest but I soon started checking out Scarface, Dj Screw & the S.U.C., Big Pun, Big L, Outkast, Biggy, Pac, Bone Thugs and Rakim and absolutely loved them all.
Now im starting to look even further into it finding greatness in Spice-1, 8 Ball & MJG Method Man, Nas, Devin Tha Dude, Too Short, DMX, Nate Dogg, Snoop and Kurupt.
This is the Greatest Hip-Hop song of all time. It exposes the most general intricacies of poverty. Which is the reason I believe this art grew through concrete. One love ✌✌✌
