Another fun trip on Moon and Joe's charter! We were on the Native Sun fishing for those tough yellows at Farnsworth Bank! They lived up to their reputation today and casualties were high. Great fishing with everyone! Congrats to those who landed their fish and even those that managed to get bit! Most of us couldn't even do that. lol Enjoy everyone!
Never understimate the spinner... becuase spinner always get the first land on the boat. Wherever u go on a trip... ive seen it. Even those walmart spinner rod and reel. $30... respect..✌🤭🤭🙅♂️👏👏👏👏👏
Loved the video Jig Slinger! Was hoping you were going to get more hookups. Lets get together on a trip this season. Let me know when you are going out next.
Hieu Nguyen Any small reels that can hold at least 200yd of 25lb test mono or 50lb braid/leader connection would do. There are lots of models on the market that are reasonably priced. For rods any 8ft 20-40lb rated rods would do. Good luck! 👍
Can't high stick those rods. It's unfortunate seeing his rod snap like that, but it could have been prevented. People need to watch the bend in their rods and make sure the bend isn't towards the tip, always want the bend more towards the middle of the rod where it can take more weight. All too often I have even seen Deckhands telling people to high stick and put "That bend in your rod!". Well that's just not how it's supposed to be done. Watch your bend in the rod, don't let it creep up towards the tip. The close the fish gets, the less you are able to move that rod up, unless you want it to snap like that.
@@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 Right on! I'd hate to see a fellow fisherman lose a good rod, especially during a trip, it's a bummer! I hope he had a spare, because whatever he was hooked up to, was definitely a whopper! Looked like a good sized halibut.
Hey brotha, awesome content as always even though it was a seemingly slow trip. Been binging your content the past two week or so and have been wanting to ask what you’d consider this set up to be used for Shimano TLC80MBBL Tallus Blue Water Conventional Rod medium power and fast action rates for 30-65 power pro and a Daiwa Lexa 400HD 8.1. Ive been wanting to grab my first wsb/yellowtail and hope this is a decent rig for it. (Sorry for the bad formatting, I’m on mobile)
I've never used this rod but specs look great! The Lexa 400 is a great reel to match with it too. Also check out the Okuma PCH series. They're also in the same price range.
Jigslinger's Fishing Channel Ive mostly been using this set up for rockfish as I’m quite a bit further north (Santa Barbara county). I feel like this could serve me well for a yellowtail run out of Cisco’s in Oxnard. Would this be more of a surface iron or fly line type of rig? I’m new to the pelagic type of fishing style and your videos have been super fun to watch. I especially like how courteous you are on the boat and seem like a pleasure to fish with!
That was not coming up- the line was being pulled out as he was lifting and he lifted too high and high sticked it which caused the rod to snap- typical rookie move. So if it was a halibut where ms the fish? You can still reel a fish in with a broken rod. Let me guess the line snapped? Yeah because he was snagged bro

I’ll be on the Native Sun this Thursday. Great video! 🙂
Nice video your footage is always so crisp and clear🤔🙂👍
Key is to constantly wipe the lens, water splashes onto the lens and causes that weird cloudy footage.
Native sun comes highly recommended by a very well respected friend. I hope to get a trip in with them soon. I’m hooked on those yellowtail
They’re biting 🤙
Jigslinger's Fishing Channel I’m scheduled for the 28th. Looking forward to landing my second ever yellowtail. Hopefully luck is in my side
Didn’t know NS went all the way to Farnsworth bank. Not much fishing time assuming. Another great video 👍
It was a long trek for sure 👍
That last fish was a beast!!!!
There were some big ones out there
Great video! Wish I could be out there instead of being stuck at home
Great weather right now! 👍
I enjoy your vids mang! I've learned alot! But do you think you can also post what line you're using for each setup in future vids? 🤙🎣👍
Another awesome vid dude I wish I was out fishing rn but it’s a little too dangerous. How is the night rn down at the Channel Islands?
Definitely understand your concerns. Stay safe 🤙
Was on the triton today and was tough fishing....
For sure. At least the weather has been nice. lol

Right on, bro. I'll hit you up on our next offshore trip. Waiting for the yft to show up in numbers.
@@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 Right on sounds good! looking forward to join ya on a trip!
Just started watching your videos! What reel and rod combo would you recommend for a beginning aiming for 30# tunas?

Jigslinger where you been?
Lessgoioi!!!
Yeah bro!! Good luck on the Cortez!! 🤙🤙🤙
Do you still give me fishing now????? Thanks my friend
What tape do you use for your thumb?
Nolan Pianalto Common medical tape
Do you know by any chance know the rod that guy had paired with the Tranx 500?
It was a Seeker. Might have been f100.
Jigslinger's Fishing Channel Thank you, I will look into it. Nice video 👌🏽
Nice vid! Was that a custom rod that snapped? 😢
Yup. UC Phantom 85
Jigslinger's Fishing Channel oh man, I love UC blanks. Alright, till the next videos 🎣🎣🎣
Nardo Nueva They’re great rods. Shiet happens. 👍
@@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 what was his mystery fish?
GOT TO EDIT OUT ALL THE MONOGAMOUS REELING
Why? That‘s part of what makes his videos great, he doesn’t hides the fact that he’s fishing not just catching.
Yo Timothy, it’s sportfishing, buddy. The reeling is the sport part. A video just showing a bunch of fish isn’t very compelling lol. 🤙🤙🤙
Always the spinner catch the first fish
uacon fishing LA bet he casted the farthest? I carry one always lol 😆
Heh, there's gotta be an easier way to get bit on yellows, it's tough using a spinner.
Spinning equipment has come a long way. Some quality stuffs available these days.

That Series Gray Appreciate the support, bro! I’d say that setup would be great for flyline.
The clown who broke his rod was just snagged on the bottom 🤦♂️
It was coming up. Probably big halibut. No need to insult anyone, buddy.
Jigslinger's Fishing Channel do you know what kind of rod he was using?
T Bui UC Phantom

Worst video ever the guy filming did not hook up at all..!! Can’t believe I watched till the end hoping to see him hopefully fight a fish and nothing
Moon had straight BOTTOM .......... just saying
