Dear Moon Animation | Part 2 | SpaceX Starship
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 чер 2021
- The Dear Moon mission will take place no earlier than early 2023. It will ferry a group of handpicked artists from around the world on a week long trip around the moon. They will fly aboard the Starship vehicle which is currently being developed in Starbase, Tx by SpaceX.
I will be posting a full animation of the Dear Moon mission no later than this weekend. I'm going back through to fix the big issues with Animation in the first half and adding better music in the background. So be on the lookout for that.
One last thing, as I said in the last video, this project has been going on for over a month now, and because of that some things are outdated. One of those things being the landing legs on Starship. While I defiantly could have gone in and updated it, because this is a two part animation I wanted to keep it the way it was for continuity purposes. - Фільми й анімація
The Full Animation is Up!

Yeap better than Hollywood
Just so everyone knows, I know the landing legs are outdated, check the description
i love your work. also dont forget that SpaceX will use hot gas thrusters as well when doing the belly flop instead of the raptor gimbal they currently do👍
@@zerothcore3220 They'll keep using gimbal to initiate the flip even when they have hot gas thrusters as the engines provide considerably more torque. The thrusters will probably still help though.

The legs are outdated...
Lol
The surface of the moon looked a little sketchy but it was probably really hard and I understand, good job 👏, I am extremely impressed 🤩
he could add in (if he used blender) a displace modifier so the moon wouldnt look that bad anymore, tho the strengh shouldnt be too much otherwise the moon will have distorted textures
and also forgot to say that the displace modifier does not add huge details, it just adds in basic "mountains" and changes the shape a bit, so a bit of manual modeling would have also helped, but he is already working hard on the starship model so i dont blame him
@@ArWeltKev ok
@@ArWeltKev I did actually use a displace modifier, however I forgot to enable displacement in the materials settings. And because of my current setup, I couldn't see that it was doing that until after I had already rendered it out, so it ended up looking off. I fixed it in the full animation though!
One of the first things I would send to the Moon is a Boring machine automated. Use to set up housing, storage, safe shelter.
The uses are endless and it would also make bricks to build other structures.
Bricks on the moon is like sand in water but the other way round. They gon fly up and never come back.
I love the shot at 1:42
Yea, that was extremely creative!
Great work! Every animation it gets better!
I was saying number one full-length animated movie great quality guys starwatcher
cool starship/////
Great Video!
Incredible work!
This is cooler than sci-fi.
I just came after the suspense made in 1st episode. Great bro
Great animation bro
Very good 👍
That was impressive 👏 👌
That flip was soooo beautiful 😍
Good job Evan, I hope you get 10 million subscribers by the end of the year
Beautiful! #goelon
Really puts it in perspective. Nice work, Evan!
Very well done!!! Amazing
Awesome animation!
Really fun! I believe the plan is for the Dear Moon ship to loop well beyond the Moon before returning to Earth, unlike Apollo which held a tight orbit. Is my memory right, anyone?
Awesome
Very nice! Job well done
Nice job!
I want to be a part of this mission So much. Perfect animation, Bro! 😍😍

Nice
I LOVE SPACEX.!! we visited the the site last Oct..it was so awesome.. i've ordered the tri motor fsd ct & i can't wait for it to get here!! I may buy the S or the Y in the mean time..i got lots of solar & back up battery system as well.😀💚😀
nice dude
G R E A T ! !
Great job. 😎👍 Not my kind of music though.
Yeah, about that crackling noise...
0:33 How did you make this amazing background.
cool
StarShip will definitely do an "Apollo 8" lunar flyby before attempting a landing there.
I'd like to send whoever chose that godawful music to the moon right now. In space no one can hear you scream!
Nice work eh
Lesss go
I love it! Amazing work! °-°
Also love the music... what's the name? :D
Moon is hollow inside dear earthlings
Yeah, I don't understand why the main observation window is setup so far back from the original version, the header tank isn't that big. Seems like a lot of wasted space in nose section. Cool animation.🤔👍
Hello Australia!
Audio is not really the right kind of powerful ring for ya know the dear moon flight ...if you get what I mean
can they build a landing pad thats not so dusty?
Hi , do you know that i was your 95th subscriber
Äpic
The only thing i dont like about this ship is no redundancy in case of landing not working well. Plan B? Parachute? second propulsion?
Why doesn't the booster land on the ground?
What a great job wish it comes to existence and i pray to be part of dearmoon mission.
when was this?
no solar panels?
d**n I left my phone at work
Bet you $100 they will fly up on a Dragon capsule, dock with an orbiting Starship, orbit the moon, and return to earth on a Dragon capsule as well.
Where's the gateway ?
In time, if all Elon Musk's wishes come true, sending humans to Mars, it's like a boss telling his men to jump down a steep high hill.
why?
You mean the boss is going to tell some of his workers who signed up literally with the dream of one day ‘jumping down a steep hill’ to do so and that’s a bad thing? How?
You know the pioneers going to Mars, eventually after it’s proven to be safe using cargo, are fully aware of the relatively high risk right?
@@6105boe If the devil doesn't even dare to go to Mars why do humans want to try their luck to live there if water is difficult to find if processing using technology now it requires big funds
Part3 the mars landing
What, no moon landing?
Rendering so vertical is extremely complicated, when gravity respects horizontal. How will we get back from the moon or Mars? When there is no crane infastructure/foundation, biosphere nothing already build there, it would've been so much easier, if the craft had vector booster to hoover horizontal, from its belly heat shield when reaching under 20 stories high. Vs that free fall stunt on landing. This could've been done by 2030 building the foundation first, before 2050 collonizing.
Amazing trip😍😍😍 no landing legs👀
Starship booster has no landing legs. Starship has landing legs.
Why can't Starship utilize the Reentry Burn to slow it down, like the Boosters? It would lessen the need for so many heat shield tiles.
Why waste fuel that it's mass would dramaticaly decrease payload capacity, if you can do it without?
@@djkamilo66 The cost and weight of the tiles, more that equals the cost and weight of the fuel needed for the re-entry burn.
@@myyklmax have you done the math on that? Because I highly doubt that.
On a return trajectory from the moon, starship will be entering the atmosphere at a velocity greater than 10,000 m/s. In order for starship to be able to survive reentry without heat shield tiles, it would have to decrease it's speed to something under 3,000 m/s most likly. That is a delta v of 7000 m/s in one reentry burn. Even without heatshield tiles, when starship returns from the moon it will only have around 1000 - 1500 m/s of delta v (maybe 2000 m/s if you push it) left worth of fuel. So not only would performing a reentry burn be unefficent, it is just outright impossible. On top of that, fueling the starship costs around $200,000 per launch. Elon hopes that eventually they can get the manufacturing price of starship down to something like $2 million, so assuming the heat shield tiles are only a small portion of that total cost, it would cost about the same as one flight worth of starship's fuel. SpaceX aims for starship to be fully reusable with little to no refurbishment (like falcon 9 but better) so the total cost per launch of the heatshield tiles would be significantly lower than the total cost of starship's fuel. So it also would not be financially viable.
Absolutely, also I would like to add that the heat shield is reusable, the fuel is not.

First
The "music" ruins it all.
Silence works dreams when it comes to space animations (or Zimmer's masterpieces)
I’m pretty sure the reentry is much much longer
The other commenters are correct, the music is truly hideous.
Whoever did the musical score for your video completely undermined your entire effort. The video was awesome but the music score is as if someone threw your animation into a toilet and dropped a huge deuce on it.
How to dislike more than once
Wow, you really do love your lens flare plugin don't you. So annoying! Worse on part 1.
Ummm, that isn’t a very accurate starship tbh. But great animation!
