Fellow Indy resident here. We love you, too, bruh.
People knock the Midwest, but good times to be had...
Sure it’s all the same and it’s all flat, but it’s the same flat awesomeness of both equally fun and miserable winters , great food, and some of the nicest people I have ever met. Plus they definitely know how to kick it back up there
Indianapolis also hold the two biggest championships in the world for BOA marching band and DCI drum corps
*this right here*
Kyle Smit 😨 😨
BoA weekend is one of the craziest things I've ever seen. So many people
I wonder if Pat has any idea what drum corps even is
MARCHING BANDDDD
When growing up the people around me said Indiana was really boring. A lot of them, including me, left for college, military, or jobs and every single one of them that I know miss Indy a ton. Yes the farmland wasn’t the most exciting thing in the world but we all made it work and had a blast. You really got to know the people around you. Pat isn’t lying Hoosier hospitality is fantastic. If you ever find yourself in Indy the best thing for you to do is to interact with the people. Go to a bar or something and you’ll realize what makes Indy really special.
I love Pat so much, I'm so glad he's been able to become so successful after his NFL career
I'm a percussionist. I don't travel all that much out of the southeast. But when I do, it tends to be Indy. Drumcorps finals, BOA finals, and PASIC are all held in the stadium and the convention center. I always love going and It's a really cool city. don't know if i'd live there but I love going every year.
Indianapolis others here love you to Pat McAfee! 🤙🏼
I live in Indiana and trust me there's more than corn here!!!
I’m a hour from Indy and I love ❤️ it
Thanks for the Indy PopCon mention! You guys are awesome.
I wonder how many fans of this show are indy based lol. I feel like a lot of people are here because of becoming McAfee fans following his career with the colts. Obviously he's a funny guy with great sports insight which garners support too
Saw him on Bleacher Report a few years ago and was an instant fan. Never knew him as a player since I was west coast based, but his public persona is dawn tawn.
Bengals vs colts playoff game was amazing. What a beautiful city and stadium.
i went to a super bowl in indy...my dad hated the city but i liked it....i only had jacksonville to compare (super bowl wise) he had houston & new orleans 2 or 3 times
interesting lol our SB here in Indy got excellent reviews
Ive been around a few Super Bowls and what Indy pulled off was Tops
Zeet seemed a bit too excited about furries flooding the clubs in Indy
I agree it is a nice city, happy I can drive there in about 2 hrs
Just moved here during the pandemic, I'm had nothing but positive things to say about Indy and I live on the east side 🤷
Thank you Pat!
Third or fourth largest convention center in the country and Indys cheap to stay in compared to most major cities
I grew up in Columbus and we traveled to Indi several times for events over the years. Indi is a fantastic host city, with that said.... GO BUCKS
One thing that didn’t really get mentioned is the geographical location of Indianapolis. It’s literally in the middle of the country. Also Indianapolis international airport is consistently rated as one of the best in the country!
Thank you.
My hometown 😎
Same well kinda I live in Greenwood but we’re not far
Ive never been to Indianapolis but i like it purely because im a giants fan and we won a superbowl there
We welcomed you guys with open arms. I bought many a beer for guys in Giants gear. NE fans got heckled.
yes loved seeing you kick Brady’s ass here!
The Giants were welcomed because you had a Manning.....Giants fans were everywhere....Patriots fans didn't like showing there faces...
I went to Indianapolis for GenCon and thought it was a great city. He's not joking, btw: the Convention Center is across the street from the stadium.
Indy is used to big events. Drop a rink in Bankers Life and Lucas Oil, use the one at Pepsi and we're pretty much there.
I’d love if we could get an NHL team here. Give us Phoenix’s team! We will be the Indiana Coyotes.
Give them a new name. I don't want that Coyote stink lmao.
Raging Gerbils
Gencon is awesome though.
He didn't say its not, he just doesn't understand it lol
GenCon is awesome yes, RIP GC 2020 :(. Pat has been to GenCon, on a large amount of edibles that is. Idk where that video he made went to.
FFA represent!!
The Indy Fuel getting no love Pat?
Okay look, I've known people that have moved near me that were from Indy and were cool af, now being said; I'm from Texas. And I usually hear people hyping up our cities, but I'll be honest, I've never been so hyped to visit a place. I just moved back to Dallas from San Diego too. I see ya Naptown
It’s sometimes hard to believe Indianapolis and Gary are in the same state, two separate worlds
don't sleep on naptown baybeeeeee
Indianapolis is where I live anyways. It's considered the Midwest anyway.
Yo isn’t the crime really bad in Indy?
no.
It is. Indy has a higher murder rate than NYC or LA.
Thomas Creamer maybe because of the way the lines are drawn on the map. It's only really one neighborhood
@@dandantheman9960 Yes. Indy is an odd city. you could be in an area like Fountain Square, which is ok, then go five blocks in any direction and you're in a bad neighborhood.
Nashville is the same way
As much as I like Nashville...Hotels are SUPER expensive
Kind of boring point, but Indianapolis has the largest number of monuments second only to Washington DC.
Also the largest Children’s Museum in the world
Indianapolis is boring and the weather is horrible. I’ve never heard anybody say “I’m taking a vacation to Indianapolis”. I’ve also never heard anybody say they really want to move to Indianapolis.
I personally think people who aren’t aware of Indy make comments about the place and they haven’t never been there. Plus most people who complain there’s nothing to do don’t do anything in their own city lol 😂
To be fair to Diggs, literally everyone in Indiana doesn’t think it’s fun here
it is growing very quickly tho
Indy 500?
WHY are the roads so bad though...
I can answer that. Winters here we don’t get a lot of snow but we do get a lot of rain which immediately turns to ice. Because of the constant winter rain and ice it does a number on the roads.
Worst roads in the nation omg
We got nothing on that Chicago disaster
@@ArtKrishnamurti Have you driven on Michigan highways? I haven't been there in a few years, but they were The worst roads ever. I'm fairly certain they have been voted worst in the nation too.
KICK DIGGS OUT OF INDY ASAP!!!!!!
I will take Boston over ANY city, any day......
for the record people it’s called Nap or Naptown because indiaNAPolis.
Does it happen to have anything to do with the fact that the cities professional NFL team also paid you millions?
As someone who lives in Indiana, don't let Pat overhype it, it's one of the most boring states in America lmao
No ocean idk why you love it so much
oceans are overrated
People who bring up "oceans" rarely visit said oceans.
Rex Kramer - Danger Seeker I live near the beach lol I go there probs once or twice a week in the summer but I get your point
Lmao Indy is doodoo let’s be real
VK9398 you’ve never been
@@mattschultzfinkler ya i have numerous times and it's dookie no need to be mad lol
Appreciate the FFA (Future Farmers of America) shoutout at 3:50. Always a great time coming out to Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention!
Fun fact: The National FFA Convention is the second largest convention in the United States right behind the Republican National Convention. A student-led organization comes up with convention numbers right up there with the RNC and DNC
NapTown stand up 💯
NAPTOWN💯💯💯
Been there several times when F1 was still racing at indy, excellent host city for major events. Not sure I would go there for a vacation tho.
I’ve lived here since ‘79. It’s unfortunately not a destination city for a family vacation. It is a fantastic city to host events due to the layout of the city. We also have just enough interesting things to fill down time between events.
🤣🤣🤣 Love how he explains GenCon. It’s a Tabletop & Board Game Convention that has a turnout of 70k+ annually. Love going to play D&D with complete strangers for fun. His version is hilarious though.
Being from Indiana (2 hours away from indy, visited many many times) indy doesn’t get enough love and thank you pat for being a voice for Indiana!
Also 2 hours from Indy and totally agree
Indiana’s nice, I’m from Illinois
I met alot of people from Indiana. Great people!!!!
No toll roads in Indy to!
Hell Louisville has got em now
Plenty of potholes though.
falubii there’d be more with tolls ;)
Brought to you by the city of Indianapolis marketing team
Did you see that Tom Brady tweet? He’s definitely a fan of your show
What’d Brady say?
@@isaacsalazar8114 he said that pat mcafeeeee guy is great
Noooo way!
Mayor Hudnut(sp) is mostly responsible for that. That was his vision for this city, starting with Market Square Arena
Indianapolis should definitely have a hockey team. I've never understood how the Blue Jackets ended up in Columbus when Cleveland, Cincy and Indianapolis are all right there.
Should have went to Cleveland
Columbus didn't have a pro team before hockey. their media market is larger than cincy while cleveland is shrinking.
indy is one of those cities where it would be able to hold every single major sport
@@samelmudir I lived in Columbus for a few years. I can tell you right now nobody in Columbus cares about the Blue Jackets. The only thing anyone cares about there is Ohio State.
I grew up going to Ice games, by the time I was an adult they were relocated. I really miss having a hockey team here, but an NHL team would be amazing. I would truly love an MLB team, but that would probably hurt the Indians games and we definitely support their legacy in our city, so at least we have them.
Don't sleep on Indy!
🥱🥱🥱😴😴😴😴
it’s called Naptown though
Naptown Baby !! It’s on my retire list. Beautiful small city. Growing fast though
Surely there's better places to retire to.
videos arent the same without the comments. keep it up boys
🎶There's more than corn in Indiana; Indiana Beeeeeach🎶
next nba all star weekend is gonna be good.
I was there for a church youth conference with 38,000 people...the city was really well prepared for it. Same conference the next year in St. Louis...nightmare. Indy was a great experience.
Where in St. Louis?
Indy is one of the few metro areas with a population over 2M where you can have a conversation with a random person like they were your neighbor for 5 years. The Fuel have (and prior the USHL Ice) played at Banker's LIfe. Youth hockey is fairly popular in Indiana. Not as big as some places, but they've put out some greatly talented guys. Fort Wayne is home to one of the oldest teams behind the Original 6 and Hershey. Not to forget Culver is always one of the top ranked teams in the country. A NHL team could easily survive in Indy, but there's way too many eastern teams as is and the proximity to STL, NSH, DET, CHI, and Columbus would hurt those markets. Detroit can't lose anymore.
Indy is honestly like the south in terms of hospitality. It's a great city, and I love living there
Indy is nowhere near 2 million people. Probably under 1 million.
@@timgray3130 maybe you missed that "metro area" part.
I think proximity to all those cities only hurts their chances because it wouldn’t be balanced with so many central and eastern teams. I think the fan base is there in central and southern Indiana.
@@Tommy_Gibbs_II Did you not read this sentence? "A NHL team could easily survive in Indy, but there's way too many eastern teams as is and the proximity to STL, NSH, DET, CHI, and Columbus would hurt those markets." Also, there's plenty of folks in the northern part of the state. South Bend to Indy is 2.5 hours and from Fort Wayne to Indy is about 2. There's plenty of folks who drive their kids 2-3 hours 2-4 times a week to play youth hockey. The Komets, a lonely ECHL team, averages 8K a game and sell out crowds of 11k+ a few times a year. There is plenty of fan base here.
And we have a beautiful canal for swimming!
Do not swim
Anyone who is into edm music would love the Indy 500. Saw skrillex in the snake pit a couple years ago
Ive been going to the race my whole life...but the race day concert has added a whole new dimension....Skrillex must like doing the 500, as he has been there multiple years
.
ohh I was there too lmao you unlocked a memory
Indiana / Indianapolis is probably one of the most accessible cities in the country. All the major highways cross through Indianapolis from coast to coast north to south east to west all the biggest highways go straight to Indianapolis. So that is a main reason why so many sporting events are here it's so easy to get here to stop on any Highway and drive this direction
Also one of the most dangerous
Are the Indianapolis ice still a hockey team? Just for clarification, I know some idiot will ask me. I know it’s not a nhl team 😂
Urban Core is pretty good, but 80% is suburban hell. Very much not walkable.
thanks Pat for always puttin on for us. much luv from the far eastside.
Indy used to have two large ice rinks downtown across the street from the convention center. Now I think it’s just whatever they could do with Lucas/Conseco and the fairgrounds
The Coliseum at the Fairgrounds is home to the Indy Fuel hockey team in the ECHL and is affiliated with the Chicago Fire.
I agree. I travel for work and was pleasantly surprised by how nice Indianapolis was. Very clean, easy to get around, and the people were all very friendly.
you should see Melbourne, Australia. BTW AFL is back June 11 (AEST)
Melbourne is okay, I enjoyed Hobart more.
And it's a short drive to Pawnee
eh bOys hockey is back
Lmaoo
Proud to call Indy home. Criminally underrated
Wildstar34 here in Detroit we are criminally rated
@@leftyguitar I chuckled
I had the pleasure of spending a mere 24 hours in Indianapolis and had a FANTASTIC time. You can take your alcohol outside with you like Vegas! Unlike Vegas everyone is incredibly friendly and not looking to fleece you. Great time. Looking forward to getting back there eventually.
I live in Indiana I love going to Indianapolis
As an Aussie who came to visit Indianapolis, it's a stunning city. We had an amazing bike ride at the White River area, the place is so clean and beautiful! We came to watch the Big 10 Championship game a few years back, Ohio vs Wisconsin, lovely city.
Hopefully you didnt miss checking out the Speedway
You’re forgetting Pat, in Pittsburgh, everything is convenient for the hockey stadium.
Let's get WrestleMania to Indianapolis in the next few years, eh Pat??
Please god!!!!!
Does Indy have any convenient stadium for Wrestlemania?
I love that Pat is finally representing the Dub V. About time! Let’s Go! Mountaineers!
All you need to do is say Saint Elmo's and I'm going regardless of sports
St Elmos is great
Agree NHL.
Bill Hudnet had a lot to do with the Promotion of Indy as a host town in the 70s-90s
Let’s go to Gary and see what happens boys
Don’t do that
They could use the Field House for hockey. Many NBA/NHL teams share a venue.
Exactly
Lived downtown INDY for many years....Great City!!!!!!!!!!! But.. Winter weather sucks.....so moved to FL🌴🌞
Indianapolis has also hosted the DCI world championships every year since 2009. If Dayton, OH didn’t already secure the bid, WGI World Championships would be in Indy as well. No doubt
You can't forget about the Drum Corps International World Championships that comes to Indy every August. Upwards of 5,000 performers between the age of 14 and 22 come through Lucas Oil and perform and the event attracts tens of thousands from around the world
I’ve attended a couple trade shows in Indianapolis. Pat is absolutely correct. It ranks well above Chicago, Baltimore, San Antonio and several other cities in my honest opinion. Chicago sucks, not the people but the experience.
What did you not like about Chicago? There always something to do no matter what your style is. Food is diverse and there are plenty of options. I’ve been to Indianapolis plenty of times. It is a great convention town. Although the skyline isn’t that of Chicago, the downtown felt bustling and alive.
but the roads are still absolute *DOG SHEET*
Not as bad as Michigan tho
Pat C Way worse than Michigan bro. Only well kept area is the North suburbs
@@ArtKrishnamurti yeah, i70 has basements without houses in the middle of the highway. Michigan is just choppy concrete and cracked roads, even though they are still getting nastier south of Detroit on i75
The thing about Indianapolis is it ain’t cleveland
Crossroads of America
Anyone else go to Indianapolis for DCI?
Southside Naptown!!
So are we not gonna talk about Zub Zero
If you need a hockey team, you can take the Coyotes!
I love Indianapolis
