I've seen this method done before (Thriftschool comes to mind), but i've never had the time to do it, especially 2 hours! Bookfest is coming up. Love your work. I’ve started the dvd hustle, sick of watching the money you are making and not doing it myself 😂. First I sold a bunch of old ps4 games I had in the cupboard - got $80 profit (after postage), grabbed 10 dvds ($10) from the local op shop and have listed them today. I think I was a little too picky and for some reason I felt like I needed to be quick at the op shop so I didn’t get many - next time I’m going to set up camp there and scan every dvd like you did in this vid. Your vids are great, very informative but also fun. Your passion and excitement for this hustle is fun to watch and I have found it very motivating.
Mate dunno what magic dvd stalls you have in Australia but I've been reselling dvds on eBay for a couple of months now and only ever really find boxsets and games that are worth selling and only found 3 single dvds worth selling lol
I always give the DVDs a look. I’m looking for horror or a dvd I haven’t seen before. I think I’ll spend some time just scanning them. Just like the game last week it’s so interesting some of the DVDs are just common sell for $1 or $2 on ebay here in the states.
I was in a store about 2 months ago and saw a young girl in her early - mid 20's buying a dvd at the supermarket for i think $18 which alone blew me away but when i saw the dvd it was the first suicide squad movie! that fucked me up. i couldn't stop talking about it all ride home and my girlfriend couldn't understand why i was so baffled by it.
I’m surprised you don’t ship the cheaper selling ones for $2. Even when something goes missing Aus post doesn’t do anything about it. Imo your better to take the hit and refund the customer and keep postage as low as possible. Unless of course it’s something $50 plus then I would send it tracked
This is what kills the game for me.. It's barely about experience, what you know and what you've learnt along the way any more. Just scan for profit.. Of course , you use every tool at your disposal.. but yeah.. It's not the same..

Hi Matt great video be careful telling everyone how it’s done we will have to much competition in our listing 😂 with postage I have been using a small bubble bag just bigger than a DVD and put 2 stamps on it cost me $2.50 and give them the option to pay extra if they want tracking. 👍👍👍🇦🇺
Buble bag around $1.50? + $2.50 .not much difference and no tracking...
@@PitterPatter100 bubble bag only cost me 30 cents
@@markrandy1000 in bulk? How many do you have to buy?
100 they can vary from 30-40 depending on what style you buy on eBay
Too bad you didn't have some post-it notes to pop the comped prices on them while you did it in the op shop to save you doing it when you get home.
Are the 10c bubble pouches too much to slip inside your tracked envelope?
Have you tried listing 32 x similar genre DVD'S into a Large Australia Post Box ie: 50c post each DVD vs $4.80ea.
defs a few different ways of doing it. I've just stuck to the simplicity of the envelope only send. I might try these methods and see how they go thanks for watching
DVD movies go for big money where you are. Not even close to those average numbers in the US.
Some go hard in the US! It was actually USA based sellers that got me into it!
@@TheAussieFlipper well I'll keep on pushing with them. I have 100's on hand so maybe if I keep working at it, some profit will be discovered. Btw... love your videos!
Really blown away by this mate!! blimey! I may go out DVD hunting myself! The breakdown was fantastic too. Nice work Matt!! :)
Might be something new to give a go ma man! Thanks for tuning in as always! Have an awesome Christmas too mate!
Lucky if 40 DVDs in a shop here
Mate dunno what magic dvd stalls you have in Australia but I've been reselling dvds on eBay for a couple of months now and only ever really find boxsets and games that are worth selling and only found 3 single dvds worth selling lol
oh no! I definitely think you should have another go! Profit everywhere in dvds! Thanks so much for watching!
I refuse to believe that one of the highest selling DVD's in that selection was Master Of Disguise.
I was as shocked as you were
Did any staff question you for being there so long?
Nah they know what I do.. I’m in there every week.
My local threatens to give me work to do lol
@@JC-eh2lb atleast they like you! Haha
Most of my money in life comes from cds, dvds videogames, and blu rays
always cheak your disc's for scratches
What store is this???
Bundall. But I wouldn’t go there now. It’s empty 😅
@@TheAussieFlipper good looks 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I always give the DVDs a look. I’m looking for horror or a dvd I haven’t seen before. I think I’ll spend some time just scanning them. Just like the game last week it’s so interesting some of the DVDs are just common sell for $1 or $2 on ebay here in the states.
yeah it's super interesting to see what has value! Give it a go and see what happens!
Tell us how you do it
watch my videos
Better go scan those boxes of DVDs I got free on Facebook marketplace that are sitting idle in my garage. I think there's money to be made 🤔
Ohhhh you’re probably sitting on a gold mine! Happy hunting!! 💸💸💸
It's interesting that people are willing to buy DVDs when they can stream (and buy) for about $10
I was so fascinated by it when I first started selling them but now it’s common knowledge they move regularly
I cant bring myself to do it. each to there own
The more you source for Dvd's the more you'll know what to look for and what to pass over.
You said it best
This is what kills the game for me.. It's barely about experience, what you know and what you've learnt along the way any more. Just scan for profit.. Of course , you use every tool at your disposal.. but yeah.. It's not the same..
I’ve got to heavily disagree with this viewpoint.
@@TheAussieFlipper I respect your opinion.. but rather than just disagreeing, could you elaborate on why you disagree?
I completely believe all the technology these days DOES lower the barrier to entry and circumvents actual knowledge.. How does is not?
Edit: My original comment may have been a bit over exaggerated 😅
@@ragstoriches4393 scanning builds the knowledge bank. If you don’t scan you’ll never know?
@@TheAussieFlipper ok ok.. Tbh I didn't think there was anything left to say.. That is a stretch.. But I can't not agree.. probably a more positive way to look at is also.. 👍
@@ragstoriches4393 might have to call this one a draw
Mate let other resellers think there is no money in DVDs :)
Here to help haha
Hmmm' ppl not buying DVDs they want blu-ray now .
My eBay sales disagree
@@TheAussieFlipper really? Ppl still buying DVDs 😅
I wonder if he's vaccinated?
Who? Me? Yep
I’m confused, I tried this method, only bought DVDs with sold comps of $10+ (ignoring new sealed comps obviously) but then when I got home and checked current listings I noticed most dvds have multiple people selling for like $4-$6 so I’m confused how people get those $8-$10 sales with seemingly the exact same dvd @theaussieflipper thoughts?
Yeah unfortunately I believe you have to manually search the dvd title as well as scanning it to see all available comps so I’m also confused
