As long as asbestos is on the outside as a roof, it is not dangerous. You should only touch it with work gloves. The only thing that is dangerous is the dust that is created when you have to drill or cut with an angle grinder. Ljuba's pink dungarees are a special, beautiful style.

People would for sure buy the old glass bottles. Its the shipping to the States or where ever that would be the issue of packing them up securely. Careful with the power in that home. Those wires are 60+ years old now. Great video you two!

Asbestos is not good, but if you can paint it over it's ok for now. Just don't break it or saw it and throw away gloves after handeling. Spray it down with water before moving to prevent dust. Preferably also use a single use FFFP 3 mask. I know 60% of roofs in Ukraine is made with asbestos so I know you're just going to have to live with it but you can protect yourself from unnecessary harm. Everytime Luba went through her hair with those gloves I was screaming at the screen. Don't touch your face! 😅

I agree with you on the dangers of bare asbestos roofing and the fence is the same material as well by the look of it. However as you say, a good coat of water based paint will soak in and lock it up pretty well. But wow what a difference these two are making with the renovations and to see the warm glow of the lights in the evening sure brings the house back to life as a home. Well done Pavlo and Luba.

My old house had asbestos shingles as siding! It would have been too expensive to change it out, so I had it painted over. Too bad it was a product that was ever used on homes.

In some communist housing blocks, they used asbestos as a binding agent in the prefabricated cement boards. When you punch a hole, you can risk serious illnesses.

🤗Hello Luba and Pavlo! Best regards from Bavaria/Germany. You were very busy. It looks much better. I saw that there are still bricks in the garden, so you can build a grill or oven in the garden. The oven in the house is great, just the plate on top with the flex Sand it clean and then grease it. My grandma did this with a bacon rind. You should also replace the electrics for safety reasons. But everything little by little, it will definitely be very nice again. Good luck, you two. Stay healthy and take care of yourselves on.

Your hard team work really brought the old homestead into an appealing, livable, property.
It is amazing what a big improvement you achieved by cleaning up the yard junk. Along with the painting of the gate and house trim and door it looks 100% better. Next spring maybe a new well building after winter passes.? Also the big chunk of concrete by the door steps is a distraction and serves no apparent use. If too heavy to move perhaps just level n it and plant flowers on it. Loving your videos ! 👍👍👍🤩🙏🏻❤

Memories: A few decades ago I was given exactly the same what they then called a “porcelain Whisky Fish with 6 little mugs” as a present by some Russian friends. Since 2014 they seem to refuse any of the contact efforts which I made since and which wasn’t a problem at all before. Which speaks for itself … I was even invited by them to go to see them at home in Cheboksary on the banks of the river Volga.

The tiles are clay, the roofing is tin, the only hazards on the property is the hose that Paul and Love are using to source water from their well.
However it is most likely that the old paint sanded off the doors was vintage lead based paint, that Paul must of got a nose full of and was spitting out for a while.
Bottles……. Make great drinking glasses cut down skillfully with a bottle cutter and sand down the edges. Also bottles are great to keep around for Molotov cocktails! Sorry y’all my sense of willage humor. Михайло бід Мурдераполіс, Минесота

You better pay attention to the roof sheets. Do I see abestos? When you move that put on full protective plastic clothing and gasmasks if you can. A very slight amout of asbestos can make you very ill in 30 years time. For example very severe cancer!

    • @sharong8511
      @sharong8511 7 місяців тому

Yes you are absolutely correct. The damage from inhaling asbestos particles does not make you ill at the time, it shows up years later. My friend’s father was in the Navy as a young man during WWII and died from the damage to his lungs caused by the asbestos in the ship. Compensation doesn’t do you much good when you are already dead.

Pavlo and Luba, remove the wallpaper and paint the wall a creamy white, some Ikea art work and new furniture and you've got a comfy home.
don't touch the asbestos with bare hands water it down before cutting wear masks. Good luck.

@@pablodelsegundo9502 When I traveled to Ukraine 23 years ago I got ahold of one of their recipes. I’ve been making it ever since. I’m looking forward to moving back next year

At 8.33 you really need to repair some of the mortar on brickwork. Especially on the corners of the buildings if there are anymore. This home will really comeback nice with more repairs and attention

Bottles were used for milk back in the 70's. Soda also came in bottles. We would have a 5 cent deposit on each bottle for milk and soda.
In the late 70's the milk and soda started using plastic. It was the worse mistake for the enviroment. Plastic went in the trash but soda plastic bottle were left everywhere.
