I couldn't agree more, nor say it any better. Shannon has the absolute best hockey channel, period. From content to presentation he does it all with class, humor and humility making it all well worth watching. I've been a fan since my first view, as much as i crave hockey rumors he tends to stick to facts and doesn't get caught up in the rumors as some channels do that become click bait and became annoying after a period of time. Shannon's approach is by far the best and most watchable and rewarding.

I just wish he'd stop listening to critics so much. 99% of the comment section is kind and supporting, and yet in EVERY SINGLE VIDEO, he mentions how there are people that argue, and criticize him. Like come on dude, yeah there probably are some, but barely. Stop giving them your attention.

I’ve actually found the history videos highly entertaining. I still rewatch your stuff on Harold Ballard, Eddie Livingstone and others when I’m having a rough day, so I know there are bigger and more entertaining jerks than some of the ones I’m dealing with. I love those videos about the goofballs, characters and pains in the butt of hockey, past and present. I guess I’m a little older than some of your subs. I don’t watch list videos so I can skip to the end. That’s no fun. I want to hear why those players, people or items are in that order.

I had a UA-cam channel. I never expected, or cared, to make a dime off of it. I just figured I'd do it for a hobby. I'd upload about every other day. I had the channel for about 10 weeks. The highest number of views I ever got was 4. I had one subscriber. To give a fair explanation, I did not advertise it on my Facebook page, nor did I go around telling neighbors or coworkers about it. I figured it would be sink or swim on outside views. It was sink, obviously. UA-cam channel success is a "snowball" sort of thing. Once you get some traction on the UA-cam grid, the algorithms can give your channel appearance in more places.

Great to see you being acknowledged by the “professional media”. When I first saw your videos a few years ago I thought they were a bit amusing - some over enthusiastic fan trying to be a commentator in his basement. But I pretty quickly found myself looking for your game summaries every morning and subscribing. You could have added “be reliable” to your list here - the fact that you’re posting game summaries every night and interesting videos almost every day in the off-season, while staying focused on hockey, must be a big part of your recent success. When Marc Maron started podcasting, before anyone was making money doing it, he said the most important thing he did early on was commit to posting 2 shows a week, whether he had a guest or not, or even nothing much to say. Keep up the great work, it’s appreciated!

      @chrisg1556 Рік тому +1

@@angrydalailama6089 nah, Steve Dangle is a legend. I do agree that Shannon does knows more about the league but thats because Steve is first and foremost a Leaf guy. The SDPN has employed many people over the last year to cover the other teams and other aspects of the NHL.
For example, sdpn has the cj show. A show dedicated to a hockey insider. Or agent provocateur, a show with Allen Walsh dedicated to the business of hockey from an agents perspective. Or Knoxy and Kax, a show dedicated to women's hockey.
I love THG and the content he puts out but you can't really compare the two channels. They both put out completely different content. I like THG for the day to day info stuff but I also love SDPN for their incredible podcasts.

I think most people agree with me on my reaction to your top 10s:
    1) I have warmed up to advanced stats too, I don't like advanced stat zealots but as a goalie appreciate their work.
    2) I personally never cared about your bias because it was so much harder to detect than everyone else's bias.
    3) For whatever reason lists are super, super fun.
    4) I like history videos, I enjoy them, but yeah I enjoy lists and news much more.
    5) We're all proud to see you be where you're at, and we're excited to see you grow!
    6) Your instincts are great. One of my favorite things about you is you don't come off as some Toronto elitist who says the dumbest possible thing about sports but think's he/she is genius because they get paid millions by faceless corporations who do not care. I love the fact that you use a whiteboard and magnets, I love to see your cats, and I love seeing your jersey collection. It gives me a feeling of a smart, hockey fan, not a pompous "I was a crappy hockey player for six years so I know everything including ten games in the NHL so I know everything."
    7) Lack of integrity gets money, but integrity gets you money and respect.
    8) I'm also very hesitant to appreciate 8-year contracts but it was your video on current 8-year contracts that convinced me they were good.
    9) As a Utahn in addition to being an Albertan I am super proud of what happened in Vegas, everything about it was awesome and it's great to see Canadian elitists eat it when hockey works in the desert. I hope Arizona comes around because as a proud hockey fan I want it to work; I don't want to admit hockey isn't that great and have it relocate (I get that if you're in Quebec City you have different feelings and I won't argue with you).
    10) Like him or not Donald Trump constantly spoke (among many things) that you should always pursue to have fun in your work.

If anyone thinks more people will unsubscribe because there’s not profanity than because there is, well, bless your heart. 🤔 I’m no delicate flower when it comes to language but I’ve quit watching some UA-camrs who create very good content because they can’t seem to get more than three sentences out without dropping an f-bomb. I have to say that watching your channel has definitely increased my enjoyment of hockey, in general. I do have teams that I like to see do well, but your videos have fostered my appreciation of the league overall. Thanks for being there with your sane approach.

Keep Rockin Shannon! Appreciate the vids and pretty unbiased source you provide imo. Since coming across the channel, I get pretty much most if not all of my hockey news here. And the other hockey vids are awesome as well! Learned a fair bit in the short time as a subscriber on a number of topics.

Just wanted to say I’m glad that I stumbled upon your channel. My only regret is not finding it sooner. I appreciate your content & it appeals to my passion and curiosity for the game. As a hockey fan in Hawai’i it is refreshing to have access to someone who is not only passionate about the game, but also produces their content in an inviting and humble setting. You got a fan for life. Can’t wait to see what you’ll post when the season starts. Heading to Vegas for their home opener & I’ll have some time to maximize my consumption of hockey media while I’m there. 😊

Shannon, as much as I have enjoyed watching your channel evolve, I really do miss your 45 mins rant videos. I may be in the minority but watching a fellow Canucks fan go thru the same pain feels cathartic. It'll be nice to see a throw back video like that from time to time . Just like how John Cena goes back to OG Cena who still raps?

How time flies. I joined your channel sometime in the fall of 2016. I believe there were about 2500 subs. at the time. You provided so much more than what was on the various Canadian sports networks. I've always followed hockey, but after watching your videos I realized how much I was missing regarding most of the American teams. I've purchased some shirts ( my favourite is the " stupidity should be a two minute penalty". I think it was during the 2019/20 playoffs Vancouver vs. Vegas but I'm not really sure. Looking forward to this season and many more. Thanks Shannon, and can you help the Leafs get past the first round soon?

I love history videos! I thought everyone did? I want more of them!
And your right, trust your instincts. THIS is what people want.
And to be afraid to keep your hickups and screwups in, it make it more "organic" and geniuin.

I think your honesty (for example your honesty on your favourite teams), your values (it translates) and that you are welcoming both old and new hockey fans by the way you present your eproduct.
    Those are your best characteristics!
    You’r doing an awesome job.
    ONE QUESTION:
Do you have experience in acting or being in front of a camera before the channel? It’s seems to come naturally for you (even in the early videos).
Keep doing what you are doing and take care!
