5:13 Yes, that is a photo of John Lennon's body in the New York City morgue. It is the last known photo of Lennon. The body was moved from the morgue to be cremated the next day.
This Song came out on his Double Fantasy Album, but the Video was made by Yoko after John had been killed. One of the First Images was used from the Newspaper Headlining John's murder. The Image you paused for was the last photo of John "lying in state" before Cremation. Yoko didn't want any photos but someone took it. The "to be continued" was saying that the love you have, if deep enough, will be continued in the next life.
A very important aspect of John Lennon’s life was that his mother was tragically hit by a car and killed when he was a child just after she had dropped him off at his sister’s house, and it affected him greatly.
John was about 17 when his mom was killed, and it happened at a time that, according to him, they were really starting to reconnect in their relationship after not really being in each other's lives for many years. Paul was 14 when breast cancer resulted in his mom's death.
John was a unique individual who stood out even amongst the other Beatles. He was original, funny, witty, sometimes self-centred and selfish, sometimes a complete asshole - he was as human as they come, but also extraordinary. If there ever was a single person who could be regarded as the leader of the whole 60s musical and cultural revolution, it would be John (perhaps rivalled only by Bob Dylan). His death in 1980 sent a huge wave of shock and sorrow around the world, not unlike that of John Kennedy (JFK), whose assassination preceded The Beatles' arrival in the US by a few months. In fact, John's murder was the first time the term "assassination" was used to describe the murder of anyone other than a political figure. That's how much influence he had John's wife Yoko Ono is a controversial character, to say the least. She was a Japanese-American artist who specialized in avant-garde art exhibitions and performance art that was purposely intended to annoy, intimidate and stir up people. John himself was a visual artist as well as a musician. He met his first wife Cynthia Powell at art school, and they had a son Julian (who John unfortunately neglected). However, they weren't really a good match, and when John met Yoko, she appealed much more to his artistic and intellectual side. The combination of the two was explosive, to say the least, and their relationship did contribute to the break-up of The Beatles, although it wasn't the only reason. They released albums of weird music with equally weird cover shots (such as posing naked), and they embarked on a peace campaign in which they held press conferences in bed (the "Bed-In") or hidden from view in a large bag. John and Yoko had a son Sean (seen in the video), and in fact both Julian and Sean Lennon became musicians and have released a number of albums.
It’s a good first song to start with, and his solo career has a lot of gems. His love for her was profound. The video paints a great portrait of their love.
Woman's starting line is "For the other half of the Sky." So you know, you're hearing something special. Definitely my favorite Lennon Solo. John has written some of the most beautiful ballads, so if you want more in the same vein: 1. Oh My Love 2. Jealous Guy 3. Love His biggest solo hit, Post-Beatles would be Imagine.
John Lennon's murder was a complete shock to the world. He had "retired" from the industry 5 years prior to start a family with Yoko Ono having a son (Sean Ono Lennon) born on John's birthday of October 9th. 5 years later he made his last album in complete secret called Double Fantasy, released Nov 17th 1980, as his comeback to music. Only for him to be murdered on Dec 8th outside of his New York City apartment when he returned from the studio that night.

Great reaction 👍🏼 A song John wrote just before he was killed thanking Yoko for their time together. I suggest you react to the song at the beginning of their relationship called, 'Don't let me Down', recorded live by the Beatles in '69. When you're listening to him pleading.. 'don't let me down, don't let me down', over and over you'll know from 'Women' that she didn't let him down. She was with him until the end. The two songs 'bookmark' their relationship.
Great song from Lennon! I hope you will listen to more Lennon as well as the solos from the other band members. Paul, George and Ringo! They also have great music! Thanks Biss ❤️💛
Hello my dear biss...John lennon was and will be one of the best singers in the music industry.....he wrote and sang what he felt...it was amazing..incredible...I think that video was released after his murder in New York...thanks biss..excellent video selection...see you...✌️🫶🫶
That's a cool one. The Beatle's was John Lennon's band. From the start. He was a National treasure of both the U.K. and the U.S. Still missin the man. Thank you Biss for this nod to Lennon and this nice backward glance. LOVE YOU, Woman. Peace and Love to you from your old longhaired hippy in the States. See ya on the next. Later.
Very nice choice for the reaction Miss Bisscute, loved it as usual 💓💓💓Biss next song from him: " Imagine" and you should react to all tje other Beatles members in solo projects. Paul has a lot of songs for you.😊
Behind a man’s success is a woman telling ….., one of my favorites from John next to Imagine and oh my love for the first time! Brings memories! Love your reaction! You’re beautiful!
You women are the most beautiful and precious beings conceived by the Universe and you deserve our infinite thanks. I adore you immensely and thank you for all the love of which you are capable ❤🌹
Amazing Musician and even to this day, there are coach loads of people who come to see the house where he grew up which is only about a mile from Strawberry Fields.
John Lennon's greatest legacy, in my opinion, is how much he frightened "Those in Power" in the United States and Britain in the 60's and 70's. Young people were listening to him and not to Those in Power. SCARY!! The U.S. Government saw Lennon's songs about love and peace, as well as his public opposition to war, as a THREAT. He was deemed a SUBVERSIVE, and the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) put him under surveillance. ♫ All we are saying is give Peace a chance ♫ -- A beautiful thought for most, but an obscenity for certain others.
A lot of people accept the argument that his killer was deranged, end of story.BUt the fact is when Lennon was killed in Dec. 1980, the first U.S. President chosen by the Chriatian Coalition was elected the month before with George H. W. Bush as his running mate. Lennon had been in correspondence with Oral Roberts during the 70s, but the writer of Imagine didn't seem completely won over to become a follower of Roberts. The supposedly subversive Lennon at the time of his death was staging a comeback. Years earlier, his killer, Chapman, worked as a volunteer with vientnamese refugees at Fort Chafnee ending his tenure at the same time George H. W. Bush became head of the CIA. Gerald Ford even shook Chapman's hand, thanking him for his service. Chapman professed to have the phrase "Do It'" repeating in his head when he was contemplating pulling the trigger, a line Lennon used himself at the end of the Elastic One Band song: "God Save Us." When the police found the killer waiting to be arrested after the assassination, they reported that it looked like the killer was in some kind of trance. Does "Manchurian Candidate" ring a bell? Could the assassination have been some kind of payback or initiation to the Coalition for Bush becoming Reagan's VP?
@@Stogie2112 I usually agree. But there's enough circumstantial evidence here to feed a boar. Lennon's ex along with Sean seem to agree that the government was likely involved. Lennon was persecuted by the U.S. government throughout the 70s, but noooo: none of that is relevant. Obviously, a psycho fan killed him. If a writer used the latter in a movie finale, notoby would believe it.
One of my favorites. This was a good one to start with for his solo stuff. Everything in between the Imagine album and Double Fantasy (the album this track is on) can kind of be hit and miss. So I'm glad you picked this one. Hopefully it interested you to check out more.
All I want say is "IMAGINE". His most famous song and highly recognizable. You may also like "Happy Xmas (War is Over)." Julian Lennon (John And Yoko's son) also had a hit song "Too Late for Good-bye's". You can even see the resemblance between him and John. Thanks for taking me back in time.💓
Lennon was perhaps the most influential figure in pop/rock history. Being a founder of the Beatles and the co-lead together with Paul McCartney, they truly changed the music world. Lennon also became a very famous political activist, part of the counter-culture movement that liberated society from quite rigid conservative values of the early 60s, protesting the Vietnam war etc. This lead to him being surveilled by the FBI, and Richard Nixon tried to have him deported from the US. As a person, he was very intelligent, funny and aggressive. He was allergic to bullshit and was probably one of the most honest celebrities we´ve had. He had a dark past with alot of childhood trauma, this dark side came out sometimes in poor behavior, especially in his younger years where he could be violent and provocative. To this day he gets attacked and slandered for his political opinions, and his most famous solo song 'Imagine' provokes people to this day.
The right song to start with. IMHO most people would probably start with Imagine, which is a beautiful song in itself and probably his best known. For me personally, this is my go to Lennon song - beautiful, personal and probably the most heart-felt song he wrote. Thanks for doing this one. ❤❤❤
Lennon had a number of great hits after leaving the Beatles. One with a similar sound to this is "Watching the Wheels." Another is "Beautiful Boy." Also "Number 9 Dream." Probably about a dozen songs by Lennon to listen to.
I still remember the moment I learned of John's tragic death. I had just returned to my college dorm after an evening class. Yoko Ono has been subjected to a lot of grief over the decades for her supposed role in the Beatles' breakup. John loved her. That's good enough for me. Yoko is in her 90s now and only recently moved from the New York City apartment she shared with John to an estate in upstate New York. Keep up the great work, Biss!
You're right about Yoko Ono being subjected to a lot of grief over the decades through her supposed role in The Beatles' breakup, which is false. People can be ignorant for no reason.
As a child, John and Yoko's relationship, was a shining light that gave me hope that there was a such thing as a loving relationship. I guess people at that time were fearful to say anything good about anyone else including their friends, family and partners. I was too young to understand that this was just a defense mechanism. So when I heard about what they called their love in, I thought to myself, that is what a real relationship should be, not that I understood intimite aspects.
Hello Biscuit, beautiful song by Lennon, which, as you rightly say, is not the traditional romantic love song but rather a song of recognition for the unconditional support of your partner for all the support they have given you, intellectually, emotionally, and in every way that has allowed you to grow as an individual and, at the same time, grow together as a couple. For your next reaction, I suggest Help Me Make It Through the Night by Kris Kristofferson. Greetings from Mexico City.
This is a pretty good song. A really fun one from Mr Lennon is an old gem from the 70s called Nobody Told Me (Strange Days). An even better couple of songs come from his son Julian, in the 80s : Too Late For Goodbyes, and Valotte. Valotte is GREAT! The chorus goes something like "Sitting on a pebble by the river playing guitar, wondering if we're really ever gonna get that far" or something like that. One of those songs where the title does not appear in the lyrics, lol.
The inscription at the end of the video : "For John, love Yoko" Yoko Ono was his wife. She gets a lot of flak from Beatles fans for allegedly causing the breakup of the band (and perhaps other issues as well?). You may hear her name referenced in situations involving people who perform in music bands and have significant others (the "Yoko" of the situation) that somehow create discourse or other problems within the creative unit, cos the personal and the professional become harder to balance.
You are right that Yoko Ono has received a lot of flak for breaking up The Beatles, which is unwarranted & based on ignorance & immaturity. "True Beatles fans" are not so simple-minded & comprehend the actual complexities that broke up The Beatles. Cracks into the foundation of the band began when their manager Brian Epstein passed in 1967 & the band, instead of focusing solely on music, had to also focus on managing their careers. Business aspects of the band started to get into the dynamics of their musical relationship. George Harrison was discontent as he could not get many of his songs on the band's albums. Harrison & John Lennon began to feel that Paul McCartney was starting to take over the band. Harrison & Ringo Starr both at one point quit the band due not feeling appreciated by the others in the group & their tiredness of the negativity felt within the group. The band worked non-stop for a decade with each other. This alone can lead to break-ups. It's the confluence of many, many diverse attributes that were more prevalent & pervasive to influence The Beatles to break-up than a child-like Yoko Ono perspective.
Some of John Lennon’s friends said that John had 2 partners in his life,Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono.He was a larger than life figure because of his sometimes brutal honesty. And because of his tenderness as well.
JOHN'S DEATH: As John and Yoko quietly came out of their Apartment on their way to the Recording Studio, John signed a few Autographs for some fans. One of those fans was photographed getting John's Signature. That was the man who later killed him, Mark David Chapman. As John and Yoko had recorded a few tracks and had Dinner, they returned home. As John was walking towards the front door, a voice from behind called out "Mr. Lennon?" and when he turned around, Chapman shot 5 times, hitting John. Mark then dropped the gun and surrendered... He didn't even bother trying to escape. He gave a few varying reasons as to why he did it, but after Decades he admitted that he wanted to be Famous and killing his Favorite Singer was the Easiest way to do it. Mark was Declared "not mentally fit to stand trial", so he's been in a Mental Institution ever since...
In the video slide show, there is a picture of Lennon signing an autograph while his killer was standing next to him smiling. The photo of Lennon and his wife sitting nude on their bed was taken for the cover of their "experimental music" album. The couple also promoted peace by staging a six day "bed in." They even had a news conference about it while lying in their PJs with reporters and cameramen surrounding them.
Great song from john lennon who was a great song writer and musician with the legendary group the beatles where he and Paul Mcarteny wrote most of there songs together.Yes that was john in his coffin. And no Biss trust me you don't look anything like Yoko Ono❤
I definitely had my John Lennon phase in my early 20s... this song always makes me think of a girl I was VERY interested in, at the time. separately, I was with a woman for 4 years who reminds me of Yoko Ono SOOO much. (or, is it the other way around?)... they have very similar features, body language, and attitudes (if you listen to Yoko in any number of interviews).
Yes, picture at the morgue. The nude picture was taken in a hotel in Montreal, Canada. It was called a "love in" sort of a protest. The hotel rents this room for 20 Thousand dollars a night.
John Lennon was part of a generation that was against religions, against states and against all that war implies, something that the current US population should demand and not expect their policies to justify wars, the so-called hippies wanted love and peace. Here's a song from the Beatles: Vídeo: PAUL McCARTNEY - 'MICHELLE' (LIVE) Channel: 8969DEINZE Greetings from Peru.
If you want a really good love song, check out John Denver, and a track called Annie's Song (Let Me). I added the "Let Me" part to the title cos that punctuates the chorus a lot, "Let me" do this "Let me" do that - things like take you in my arms, hold you forever and never let go, etc. It's really a nice sweet song and a moving melody.
Yoko had gotten a bad rap from Beatles fans as part of what broke them up, a lot of it unfair but some of it justified. The truth is John was a troubled and tortured soul and eventually she helped calm him and he saw some peace before he was murdered. It still wasn't easy even after they were married, they went through some tough times in the early 70's and they separated for over a year, but they worked that out and had a child. He had to step away from the music industry for a while to find his peace, but he appeared to do that. Double Fantasy was his first new work in years, released in 1980 right before he was shot. It was his comeback, so to speak. It makes the end all the more tragic when you know his history.
None of it is justified that Yoko broke up the band. True Beatles fans" are not so simple-minded & comprehend the actual complexities that broke up The Beatles. Cracks into the foundation of the band began when their manager Brian Epstein passed in 1967 & the band, instead of focusing solely on music, had to also focus on managing their careers. I love john lennon and Paul mccartneys solo stuff even though never got into the beatles. Try john lennons "instant karma or "starting over. Or try pauls "band on the run or "no more lonely nights. Definetly all the best stuff.
PHOTOGRAPH by RINGO STARR - MULL OF KINTYRE by Paul Mc Cartney and the Wings - MY SWEET LORD or GOT MY MIND SET ON YOU by George Harrison....JUST LIKE STARTING OVER by John Lennon........Lennon was killed with age 40....WOMAN came out after his death 1980
All of the Beatles were very talented! I think Paul is the more talented in terms of actually sitting down and writing music and John was the more talented when it came to expressing emotion and riffing off a theme. Really enjoyed your reaction.
Love your reaction thats one of the best songs on the album you should show respect to your wife, when you said i didnt need to see that lol, Lennon was very liberal at the time he was agreat writer if you want to her a buitiful vibe listen to "number9 dream" by Lennon it has symphonic music in it a dreamy song, take care❤😊
John Lennon didn't like 'Woman' when he wrote it - he was considering giving the song to former Beatle Ringo Starr's solo album but producer Jack Douglas loved it and encouraged John Lennon to record it. It was on Lennon's last solo album 'Double fantasy' recorded w/ wife Yoko Ono in 1980... John Lennon had not released any new music in 5 years and he hoped the record would do well and he and Yoko could tour again in 1981. After the breakup of The Beatles in 1970 and the lawsuits that followed, John Lennon and Yoko One went through a turbulent time as the US government under Pres. Nixon targeted them for their anti-war activism... The couple separated in 1973 and John Lennon moved to California while Yoko stayed in New York City. However, John's drug and alcohol intake grew worse away from Yoko and he pleaded w/ her to take him back... Eventually, John cleaned up by 1974 and appeared at an Elton John concert in NYC which Yoko Ono was invited to and the couple reconciled... Their only son Sean Lennon was born in 1975. John Lennon and his family settled in NYC as he fought a deportation order from the Nixon administration (that resigned in 1974) ...and he won his case, obtaining a permanent US residency. He and Yoko spent 1975 to 1980 working in the art scene and had not released a solo album in years. Unfortunately, John Lennon had not made a lot of money from his Beatles years and he lived modestly in an apartment in NYC... He never had a bodyguard because he wasn't a famous rock star anymore - he would casually walk around NYC and people knew him in the area. After the release of the 'Double fantasy' album, an obsessed fan named Mark David Chapman showed up at his apartment building and John Lennon signed his copy of 'Double fantasy' as he left... When John Lennon came back to his apartment building that evening, Chapman was still there waiting and shot him in the back. John Lennon was only 40 years old... his death shocked the world... John Lennon was literally the spokesperson of his generation.

Yes, this is one of the facts that connected Paul and John, they both lost their mothers at a young age.
John was about 17 when his mom was killed, and it happened at a time that, according to him, they were really starting to reconnect in their relationship after not really being in each other's lives for many years. Paul was 14 when breast cancer resulted in his mom's death.

When the police found the killer waiting to be arrested after the assassination, they reported that it looked like the killer was in some kind of trance. Does "Manchurian Candidate" ring a bell? Could the assassination have been some kind of payback or initiation to the Coalition for Bush becoming Reagan's VP?
@@namesameasu ... Conspiracy "theorists" are such a bore.
If a writer used the latter in a movie finale, notoby would believe it.
such a beautiful song from a premier songwriter. good saturday morning Biss. have a great day!

Always I love this song, thanks for this magic moment ❤
Thank you for reacting to my great hero, supreme god of lyricism and great boss and leader of my blessed Beatles. Lennon for life🫡❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰
In 50 years from now it will be the women in our lives, that will keep humanity peaceful & moving forward. Thanks for being YOU!
One of my favorites. This was a good one to start with for his solo stuff. Everything in between the Imagine album and Double Fantasy (the album this track is on) can kind of be hit and miss. So I'm glad you picked this one. Hopefully it interested you to check out more.
Good to see you Biss, great reaction, thanks :)
Thank you, glad you loved the reaction
Writing a love song for your partner - the ultimate compliment.
Conservatives are not pro war. There was no wars under Orange Man.
John described this song as being like a Beatle song.
I love your reactions to the music you listen to ❤
Hello Biscuit, beautiful song by Lennon, which, as you rightly say, is not the traditional romantic love song but rather a song of recognition for the unconditional support of your partner for all the support they have given you, intellectually, emotionally, and in every way that has allowed you to grow as an individual and, at the same time, grow together as a couple.
Thanks for reaction
John is an Icon!
Magnificen John Lennon ❤, thank you Biss, ❤😊.
❤❤❤❤
Yes , that photo is him dead !!!😭😭😭this album Double Fantasy is great !!! I do recommend " Starting Over " and "Watching the Wheels .
Beautiful love song
Yoko Ono absolutely transformed John Lennon's life. for the better, he felt.
Forget his wife or girlfriend, this song should be viewed through the lens of him singing about his mother
No, it's Lennon singing through his lens specifically for Yoko. Lennon's song "Julia" is Lennon's song for his mother.
"The Ballad of John and Yoko" is a fun song about their turbulent beginnings from The Beatles!
Paul was also in a band called Wings... and he did some duets with Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.
Great song from john lennon who was a great song writer and musician with the legendary group the beatles where he and Paul Mcarteny wrote most of there songs together.Yes that was john in his coffin. And no Biss trust me you don't look anything like Yoko Ono❤
the beatles "hey jude" live 1968, & paul mccartney solo song "maybe im amazed" album version
Beautiful song from the Double Fantasy album. Woman was released after he passed away. It reached #2 on the charts. ❤❤❤
They really loved each other Yoko and John , she changed him quite a bit. Yes, he was singing to her.
I definitely had my John Lennon phase in my early 20s... this song always makes me think of a girl I was VERY interested in, at the time.
separately, I was with a woman for 4 years who reminds me of Yoko Ono SOOO much. (or, is it the other way around?)... they have very similar features, body language, and attitudes (if you listen to Yoko in any number of interviews).
like before lisen the video. i like this reaction!!!
Yes, picture at the morgue. The nude picture was taken in a hotel in Montreal, Canada. It was called a "love in" sort of a protest. The hotel rents this room for 20 Thousand dollars a night.
Хорошие фото. Хорошая песня! Спасибо, Miss Biss! Хорошего дня!❤
John Lennon was part of a generation that was against religions, against states and against all that war implies, something that the current US population should demand and not expect their policies to justify wars, the so-called hippies wanted love and peace.
Here's a song from the Beatles:

Greetings from Peru.
Just Like Starting Over , is another great song from Double Fantasy...
Imagine and jealous guy should be the next Lennon songs.
Love that song. Love those two people.
not a bad place to start a john lennon journey, but imagine is iconic
working class hero also still is a banger
If you want a really good love song, check out John Denver, and a track called Annie's Song (Let Me).
I added the "Let Me" part to the title cos that punctuates the chorus a lot, "Let me" do this "Let me" do that - things like take you in my arms, hold you forever and never let go, etc.
It's really a nice sweet song and a moving melody.
Thanks , I will add it to the list
The band worked non-stop for a decade with each other. This alone can lead to break-ups. It's the confluence of many, many diverse attributes that were more prevalent & pervasive to influence The Beatles to break-up than a child-like Yoko Ono perspective.
So sad going from the images of the two of them strolling in the autumn sun, then cut to Yoko alone in the winter chill, alone.
I love john lennon and Paul mccartneys solo stuff even though never got into the beatles. Try john lennons "instant karma or "starting over. Or try pauls "band on the run or "no more lonely nights. Definetly all the best stuff.
Jhon Lennon um gênio da musica
PHOTOGRAPH by RINGO STARR - MULL OF KINTYRE by Paul Mc Cartney and the Wings - MY SWEET LORD or GOT MY MIND SET ON YOU by George Harrison....JUST LIKE STARTING OVER by John Lennon........Lennon was killed with age 40....WOMAN came out after his death 1980
You see them walking in the Park it's was in New york, because he move from London to New York that's were he was shot 😢😢
You saw them in a bed,it was a bedtime that he did in famous hotel in Montréal ,I was very young when they did that ,👍
All of the Beatles were very talented!
Thank you, glad you loved the reaction
Your welcome biss john Lennon & elton john were friends elton john did a song about Lennon after his death call "empty garden hey, hey johnny"
you are facing John Lennon, the greatest artist, together with the Beatles, of the modern era
😊😊❤❤
John Lennon: "Imagine"
Listen to John Lennon's song 'Imagine'. You will understand why everyone was sad that John Lennon was shot.
Thank you
