    Hashimoto and other autoimmune conditions can create so many different symptoms. I'm happy to have found this, so I can understand and be more empathetic towards people with chronic conditions!

    • @DrBradBodle
      @DrBradBodle  4 роки тому +1

      That's a great point Celina. Whenever we have autoimmunity, we not only see damage to the involved tissue, but we also impact many other areas of the body due to the associated inflammation. I don't think these conditions are generally well understood, but they are serious and very difficult for individuals to deal with. Always important to be empathetic even though we can't "see" the autoimmunity. Thanks Celina!

    I’m dealing with sciatica or every symptom of sciatica and I have have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. I have been absolutely miserable and stuck to my bed for one week! Ever since I got this horrible disease I’ve suffered hugely! I don’t see how anyone with Hashimotos can hold a job down because I wouldn’t be able to and I run a business but thank God my husband is running it with me being sick and it never fails I always seem to get sick on holidays like my son just turned 11 yesterday and once again we couldn’t go out to dinner because I am sick

      Hi Marina, it's something that most people aren't aware of. In a sense, it's just like how people can experience joint pain when they get the flu or feel sick. The increased inflammation from our immune system can make our joints more sensitive to pain. Glad you're enjoying the videos!

    Sigh. Pain. My daily buddy, in one part of my body or another. I think it's taking one moment at a time and being very strict with my diet. Basically I eat meat, eggs, greens, berries, sauerkraut and coconut yogurt. When I eat other things, its likely pain and exhaustion will increase. Thank you for another informative video. I appreciate understanding the why behind the symptoms.

    • @DrBradBodle
      @DrBradBodle  Рік тому +2

      Hi Bonnie, yes, pain can be a huge challenge not only because of the discomfort, but the way it can drain all other aspects of our lives. It won't go away all at once, but what I like to see for my patients is a consistent, steady progression on a week by week basis. Then when you review symptoms and strategies at the end of the month, you can hopefully look back and definitively say... Yes, this month is much better than last month. Glad you liked the video! Let me know if I can help with anything else.

    Very interesting, I hadn't thought of joint pain being a symptom of these autoimmune diseases however it makes sense with the body being more inflamed. Very valuable information!

    • @DrBradBodle
      @DrBradBodle  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Jessica! Of course we can have mechanical causes of joint pain, but it's really important for people to understand that metabolic factors can make us more sensitive to pain as well. Thanks so much for stopping by the channel and watching!

      That's great to hear Mallory, obviously not something we want to deal with if we can avoid it. I just want people to be aware that it's not just physical injuries that can contribute to increased pain. Stress, poor sleep, unhealthy foods, and immune system changes can all change our internal environment and cause symptoms. I'm glad you liked it and thanks for the support!

    Hi Dr. Brad! I just found your channel & you just described exactly what I’ve been experiencing in regards to pain in my joints and minor things like a bruise that hurts 100 x more than normal. I’ve been diagnosed with Hashimotos, but have been hypo th for 20+ years with a very brief treatment of Armour thyroid. Now I’m on Levothyroxine, my pain & every symptoms you can imagine started about 15 months in with Levox. Labs drawn. Antibodies through the roof. Thyroid panel ‘normal’, but it’s frightening & frustrating to go to a new Dr. that wasn’t even going to test for antibodies to assess what’s going on 🙆‍♀️ so I had to specify which tests I’d like run including reverse T3! So upsetting. As the patient it feels like I’m trapped because I don’t get a say in what I’d like to look into that may just be textbook research - as in Synthetic versus Armour. 🤷‍♀️

      Hi Leigh Anne! Thanks so much for reaching out :) I hear you and I'm sorry to hear that things have been such a struggle. Not everyone responds well to the "standard" approach and it's quite common that people will have reactions that can actually make their symptoms worse. It seems like it'd be common sense for you doctor to listen to your feedback and try something different, so I understand why you would be so frustrated. Remember, your doctor works for you and if they're not helping, then it might be time for a second opinion, especially when many of your symptoms started with the change in medication. Wishing you the very best and feel free to reach out if there's anything else you need! I think I might have seen that you're following me on Insta? You're welcome to send me a message there as well if you prefer. Have a great rest of your day! :)

    Joint pain and fatigue are my main things that I encounter with my hoshi’s when I don’t stay on top of it. I have found that with a Tailored diet and lifestyle I can’t keep these at bay 90% of the time. But always looking to improve and get a little better each day.

    • @DrBradBodle
      @DrBradBodle  4 роки тому

      Those are definitely two of the bigger symptoms we see Brandon, but people don't always realize that they're connected to their autoimmunity. Glad to hear your at the 90% level, but I'm with you, I'm always looking to learn, tweak, and find more things that work. Thanks for your feedback!

    How can we avoid to have another autoimmune disease because of hashimoto?

    • @Sand1955
      @Sand1955 11 місяців тому

      For me, avoiding gluten and other foods that cause the autoimmune system to attack body parts. So I try to keep my Hashimoto’s antibodies low. Last year they were 59. So not too bad.

    How can you tell the difference between that cause of pain from Reumathoid Arthritis?

    • @DrBradBodle
      @DrBradBodle  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Issac, it would be difficult to figure this out purely from symptoms until the rheumatoid arthritis becomes more progressed. However, some things to look for would be arthritis type pain with joint swelling, joint pain that doesn't improve with movement, and pain in the thumb joint and the first and second knuckles of the fingers. To be proactive, especially if you have a family history of rheumatoid, would be to go get some blood testing done. Hope this helps!

      Hi Tom, the question I always ask myself when working with patients is... Is the cause of the pain structural (muscles, joints, ligaments, bones, disc, etc.) or is it metabolic (thyroid, inflammation, autoimmune, infection, nutrient deficiency, etc.). Sometimes when things get bad, we need to use multiple kinds of strategies at the same time, to address both structural and metabolic. Doing some trigger point therapy to help manage the pain while working to support other areas of your health would make perfect sense to me. Hopefully this helps to explain things a bit better!

    Only remedy to treat these autoimmunity diseases is just to correct gut leakage? And for that reason we have to eat probiotic food and gluten free diet. Is that correct?
