Welcome to Forestella. They are phenomenal cross over group from South Korea, who I my humble opinion are incapable of singing a song poorly. They have done superb renditions of songs like Bad Romance , Despacito, Legends Never Die, We Are The Champions, Shape Of You, Scarborough Fair, Time In A Bottle, Hijo De La Luna, Smooth Criminal, Sweet Dreams to name a few. Their original songs Save Our Lives, Utopia, and White Night are excellent. While their classical sounding songs are like chocolate to your ears, smooth and enjoyable. They sing dongs like Dell 'Amore No Si Sa , In Un 'Altra Vita , Nella Fantasia, Parla Piu Piano, Angel and my personal favourite, Champions. However you also have to listen to their Korean songs and the Korean songs they have covered as it is just as spectacular. Sings like Lazenca Save Us, Words Of The Wind, Nocturne, Cherished Face, As I Live etc. It is very easy to decide what to listen to next with this group. Write down all the names of their songs, throw it in a hat and pick one. You will not be disappointed.

Hello! Thank you for watching Forestella's 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. ❤❤❤ Although they are Korean, it is a bit difficult to call them K-pop. They are a crossover quartet. So harmony blending is their specialty. Since the genre of crossover is not familiar with the public, they are challenging various genres. FORESTELLA isn't really "K-pop". They are a (classic) CROSSOVER vocal group. Their corossover style, the more or less strong mix of rock/pop/opera and their trademark: their incredible, inimitable harmonies. This and their individually unique vocal ranges and technical skills make them INCOMPARABLE and unbeatable. They cannot be assigned to any particular genre. They are very ambitious and constantly challenge themself. No song is in any way similar to a previous one. So they are constantly changing genres and styles and also languages. Already extremely popular in South Korea, they suddenly became known overseas with their reinterpretation of "Bad Romance", which they turned completely upside down and caused a sensation worldwide. This seems to have been happening for a few days again, since their incredible version of "Despacito" was uploaded. Every one of their cover songs is brilliant and their originals m/s are on a whole other level. These guys share a great passion for all kinds of music. You should miss them anymore.

Really known to the masses around the world, they became popular after their "comeback" a year ago with their Version of "Bad Romance". 12 million views in this short time. They wouldn't really be considered K-Pop, though. The group was formed on the show "Phantom Singer 2," and they won their season. As you said, each member has a really unique voice, and their backgrounds and musical history really reflects that. On the very left is Ko Woorim, who is a classically trained opera singer. He is a bass singer, which is the lowest voice range. He is known for his rich, warm toned voice and his unique, operatic timbre. Second on the left is Kang HyungHo, who performs under the stage name PITTA. He shockingly has no formal training. He was actually a chemical engineer. His stage name PITTA is the name of his old rock band that he sang and played guitar in. You can hear a lot of rock influence in his voice. He's a countertenor, which is the highest male voice type. His range is incredibly wide. I'd highly recommend listening to him perform The Phantom of the Opera. Second on the right is Cho Mingyu, the leader of the group. He's a classically trained opera singer like Woorim, although his voice is very different. He's a leggiero tenor, and sings with very prominent vibrato. You can sometimes see him conducting the other members. All the way on the right is Bae Doohoon. He went to school for acting, and was a musical actor prior to joining the group. I honestly have no idea how to describe his voice timbre, it's so unique. He has a more "pop" voice than the rest of the members. All of them are so incredibly talented, and although their voices are all so unique, they blend so well together in their harmonies. They sing so well in so many different languages and styles. Just a note for future reference. a cappella means singers who sing without instruments. While Forestella can sing a cappella, they are not an a cappella group like Pentatonix. 🙂

They've met at a TV audition program called "Phantom Singer 2" which finds the best male cross-over quartet in South Korea in 2017 for the first time. These 4 guys were included(survived) in the final 12 singers among hundreds of applicants. And, the program PD divided those 12 amazing singers into 3 groups as the singers want. And, guess what? This is their version of this iconic song and a homage to the original. As you say, Freddie would be very pleased. For me the best cover version so far. Not better but equal, plus they always perform live.

FORESTELLA isn't really "K-pop". They are a (classic) CROSSOVER vocal group. Their corossover style, the more or less strong mix of rock/pop/opera and their trademark: their incredible, inimitable harmonies. This and their individually unique vocal ranges and technical skills make them INCOMPARABLE and unbeatable. They cannot be assigned to any particular genre. They are very ambitious and constantly challenge themself. No song is in any way similar to a previous one. So they are constantly changing genres and styles and also languages. Already extremely popular in South Korea, they suddenly became known overseas with their reinterpretation of "Bad Romance", which they turned completely upside down and caused a sensation worldwide. This seems to have been happening for a few days again, since their incredible version of "Despacito" was uploaded. Every one of their cover songs is brilliant and their originals m/s are on a whole other level. These guys share a great passion for all kinds of music. You should miss them anymore.

Really known to the masses around the world, they became popular after their "comeback" a year ago with their Version of "Bad Romance". 12 million views in this short time. Before their "Bad Romance" took off and went viral, maybe this was achieved by all other views combined.

Forestella is a classical crossover group from South Korea. They mix a lot of genres, incorporating rock, opera, and pop into their music. They cover many songs and they also write original songs. They wouldn't really be considered K-Pop, though. The group was formed on the show "Phantom Singer 2," and they won their season. As you said, each member has a really unique voice, and their backgrounds and musical history really reflects that.
On the very left is Ko Woorim, who is a classically trained opera singer. He is a bass singer, which is the lowest voice range. He is known for his rich, warm toned voice and his unique, operatic timbre. Second on the left is Kang HyungHo, who performs under the stage name PITTA. He shockingly has no formal training. He was actually a chemical engineer. His stage name PITTA is the name of his old rock band that he sang and played guitar in. You can hear a lot of rock influence in his voice. He's a countertenor, which is the highest male voice type. His range is incredibly wide. I'd highly recommend listening to him perform The Phantom of the Opera. Second on the right is Cho Mingyu, the leader of the group. He's a classically trained opera singer like Woorim, although his voice is very different. He's a leggiero tenor, and sings with very prominent vibrato. You can sometimes see him conducting the other members. All the way on the right is Bae Doohoon. He went to school for acting, and was a musical actor prior to joining the group. I honestly have no idea how to describe his voice timbre, it's so unique. He has a more "pop" voice than the rest of the members.
All of them are so incredibly talented, and although their voices are all so unique, they blend so well together in their harmonies. They sing so well in so many different languages and styles. Here are some recommendations: Je Suis Malade, Utopia (one of their original songs, make sure to watch till the very end of the music video), Maldita Sea Mi Suerte, MAMA, Hijo de la Luna, Lazenca Save Us, Legends Never Die, Angel, and Inner Universe (I know I wrote a lot but it's so hard to pick a favorite)

Just a note for future reference. a cappella means singers who sing without instruments. While Forestella can sing a cappella, they are not an a cappella group like Pentatonix. 🙂

Hi~ Welcome to the world of FORESTELLA! For those who do not know about FORESTELLA, I'd love to tell you about this group briefly. They've met at a TV audition program called "Phantom Singer 2" which finds the best male cross-over quartet in South Korea in 2017 for the first time. These 4 guys were included(survived) in the final 12 singers among hundreds of applicants. And, the program PD divided those 12 amazing singers into 3 groups as the singers want. And, guess what? They (FORESTELLA = Forest + Stella(star)) won this contest!!!
When they sing on the stage, they normally set their positions like this. The first one from the left side is Ko Woo-Rim (bass, a grad-schooler in vocal music), the second one is Kang Hyeong-Ho (soprano, ex-research chemist), the third one is Cho Min-Kyu (tenor, M.A. degree in vocal music) and the fourth one is Bae Doo-Hoon (baritone, musical actor) There're many amazing songs they've covered. This is their version of this iconic song and a homage to the original. As you say, Freddie would be very pleased. For me the best cover version so far. Not better but equal, plus they always perform live.

I was delighted to see your genuinely enthusiastic react and comment and I think you are really impressed too. (But this comment might be a bit misleading, sorry.) By the way, this group is really phenomenal. (A lot of Dimash fans - I saw your playlist - are also avid Forestella fans, by the way). They do their own thing, aren't always mainstream, but highly talented vocalists with incredible vocal ranges and skills.
it's four voices versus one in the original. It's pretty useless to compare it. They had to rearrange the song to fit their vocal ranges.
