Taras Shevchenko - first of all poet or artist?
Such a question is probably not correct, but if we focus on the number of works, then over 800 art works by Shevchenko and up to 250 literary works have been preserved.
Shevchenko's artistic works exist in the dimension before, during and after studying at the Imperial Academy of Arts, and the technique covers a range from unassuming watercolors and sepia to the painstaking etchings and oil painting.
It was the talent of the artist who gave him freedom and ransom of serfdom. In the autobiographical novel "The Artist," Shevchenko wrote that "I did not always sit below the third issue at the exams," but only the excellent students could choose the best places during the exams. Nevertheless, he received the honorary title of the Academician of the engraving only a few months before his death.
The lecture is read by Alla Zverhovska, a senior research worker at the National Art Museum of Ukraine.

Шевченко, звичайно, дуже цікавий, а лекція, яка читається з екрану (не онивлюється давно, бо досі "на Україну"), зберігає совкову манеру

Лекція зафільмована в НХМУ та в монтажі проілюстрована роботами майстра (в гарній роздільній якості). Що оновлювати? При нагоді знімемо нову. Проте спадщина Шевченка вічна.
