NMIXX's concept is exactly that they say the genre of their songs is " mix pop " where they combine two genres in one song. also in their debut video you can see a sign that says " pick n ' mix " which I think refers to this and also their group name

I actually liked it first listen i was shocked bc I usually dont like these switch up songs but something about “big wave” i love
i love nmixx they are such a powerhouse group full of amazing vocalists and dancers and i’m not mad at their concept but they could find a way to make their music more accessible to listeners their bside cool on this single album was their first congruent song and it was super refreshing to hear a song like that from that they are capable of making good music jype is just setting them up with this concept imo
(i’m sure you guys are not familiar with the members at all but nmixx is highly praised to have one of the best vocal lines in 4th gen and it just sucks that jype won’t let them just sing)
thing is hes not setting them up at all. its a fun and different concept that not everyone will like or get. personally i hate noise music and gravitate towards groups like stayc twice and red velvet but I love nmixx idk? dice was a hit to me and i liked their debut. they’re similar to aespa and very diff to itzy and twice. jyp had to go different with them and im glad? we didnt need a 2.0 itzy like their songs are meh so he did something cool for a change. me i dont mind but ig production could be a little better but dice works
@@zara7302 noo don’t get me wrong pls nmixx is actually my ult gg! and i love their concept very dearly it’s just that when i say “set up” i mean as in its less accessible for everyone and ik it doesn’t really matter but it hurts to see these girls not get the recognition they deserve for their amazing talents just because of their concept look at ive, leserrafim and new jeans because of their music they are getting attention for the general public and also koreans while nmixx is sadly lacking behind them when i wish it wasn’t like that but they are still a rookie group and they have time to grow so i’m not that worried i just hope more people will enjoy their music that’s all 😊
@@cxmifr yes but people acknowledge Nmixx talent. We know they are talented girls with strong vocalists and dancers. But their concept is a bit weird and I personally don't like it at all. So it is difficult for me to stan Nmixx like it is the case for a lot of people. Music is the reason why we like a group. Antifragile is the reason why I Stan LeSserafim today. Nmixx concept is not liked that's why they still haven't got a win (if I am not wrong). It was a group that people were waiting for bc it is under JYP entertainment. But I feel that JYP failed them. The company could do much more with such a talented group. That's good that you like it tho I have nothing against the group or their fans. This is just my opinion.

dice had to be in my top 5 most streamed song this year alongside some twice stayc bts and new jeans music kinda shocked i like it so much but then again lilys vocals exist so

The difference between nmixx and other group who has sudden change ups to their songs is that nmixx is literally changing the genre of a song like they’re putting 2 songs in 1 if you notice the structure of the song is the 1st part which is the original then in the middle part which was the ‘change up’ happen and then back to the original again thats how it is.
This is my opinion, i feel like MIX-POP is different from BEAT CHANGE coz just like what you said that you’ve heard some kpop song that has this change up that less jarring than this one that’s because in nmixx their genre is called MIX-POP they literally putting or adding another genre to the song (2 songs in 1) while some kpop group has this ‘beat change’ but the genre is the same that’s why it sounds so smooth.
For me, their song is not new to me MIX-POP is already in music industry for almost a decade and even some dancers will relate to their songs because we all knew specially dancers they use this kind of mixing when dancing specially when competing to a dance battle and the fact that all of the members of nmixx is such a dope dancers it fits to them really well (that’s why some people don’t appreciate their song but ended loving it after watching them perform it) and i feel like their genre suit from some concert thing i realize it when i watched their performance at KBS SONG FESTIVAL they literally did a Dice to O.O transition and it so dope like i imagine this group having 10 songs a years from now and having a concert like they can drastically put or add some random songs of them to the song that they’re performing live. Thats what i’m getting from this group so for me this group is such a 🔥🔥🔥 and i’m so glad that nmixx had their thing now.
As someone who has dab in to producing/making beat this is it. They really change the whole song with the "change up" it went from modernised broadway jazz into a hard hitting hip hop in dice or in O.O from baile funk ish to pop rock to trap ish sound. It might be jarring when you 1st heard it for some people but personally i really like it. And i agree with you they are made to perform they can mix any songs they want.

This was a super normal switch up for me (big wave part), its just a change for the rap, i dont see why everyone was so shocked and cofused 😔 even Super Junior has a change up that turns the song into a whole different thing
