From what I can see through the video, the paintshop did an exact color
match with the roof. I hope it looks that good in person. Beautiful work,
and you have put a ton of effort into this, just wonderful to see older
cars well cared for. Big thumbs up!!!

Yeah my paint guy Chris is great at what he does. He was able to get an exact match to the roof!

Great work on that grill. That looks to be a tedious job but you made it look easy. Continue to be amazed at how these cars were engineered and built.

Thanks for that! Trying to find a water leak and wondering if I should be looking under the black vent covers (or in your case body color). Also need to replace the headlight surrounds and the front bumper rubber.
Do you have any footage of these maybe for another video?
Thanks for giving me enough instruction to make the job go smoothly- I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

Replacing the headlights around is very straightforward just look inside the engine compartment behind the headlight and you'll see three little plastic knobs that unscrew and then the headlight bezel just comes out.

Your water leak is most likely coming from a bad windshield gasket.

@@woodsandbarclay I asked a local mechanic and he said the same thing. I do think my father in law (who owned and was working on the car beforehand had replaced that seal around the windshield (and lost the brightwork in the process :) )
When I finally figure it out I'll comment here again for the rest of your followers.
Again I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into your videos - they are enjoyable to watch and VERY helpful

I would like to see a video showing and explaining the turbo of the 300 TD. I dont know which turbo my 300 D has, guess its a Garret but I cannot find any sign on it and also nothing on the net about the turbos from Garrett and KKK

I really don't have a lot of technical data however I do have seat time data. The KKK turbo spools up much faster than the Garrett so it gives you a feeling of much faster acceleration off the line. The 1985 models came with the KKK turbo. From what I've heard the KKK turbo also has an adjustable wastegate so I guess that technically means you can change the amount of boost. The little research I've done also says the Garrett turbo has a better top end performance but does spool up slower. I'm pretty sure KKK is made by Borg Warner.

@@achmetschachbrett9450 interesting do some research and let us know what that means. Might have been a division at BorgWarner
