My heart just got so tender when Wilder didn't want to let the worn go back into the earth........too sweet and too adorable. Loved the kids camp with wood and the milk in the refrigerator (cool stream water) and their stacking and gathering of wood for fires/pretend or later with mom and dad. Took me back to the days of my seven siblings and we played in the yard all day long and put the flowers of the Catalpa tree on our fingers for gloves with white curtains for wedding veils and pretended we were going to be walking out into the yard for our wedding day.............all we girls and no grooms......LOL So young were we and dreams were fun and never got old. Those were the days we speak of now in our golden years and laugh at what we dreamed of and what the reality shared with us during our lives......too fun!
Life is enjoyable, tearful, laughable, wonderful. Life is so many things and our attitude about it all makes all the difference in how we will handle it. Nothing is ever perfect but if we have a positive and child like belief and live with it in our souls, that can make it pretty much so and help us though so many things we encounter.
Blessings on all your hard work that you are doing and what lays ahead in the future and you are so blessed in the love that evolves around you daily.

Perlite is great for mixing with your soil for creating a less dense and more airy soil to help create healthy root system, which in turn make a stronger plants. I use about 25% perlite in my soil, 25% peat moss, 40% soil.... and I add in about 10% of my compost as well. My plants love it.

I wish there was a “love” button. I love watching you with your babies. You live the way we all should and were meant to. Life is so hectic, but when you live off the land and your children learn to be productive and helpful individuals as part of the group, it really shows in the way they behave. Unfortunately my children and a lot of children are being raised with their noses in their phone or in a computer. Good mommy. Love you guys.

Everything seems to be coming along. The kids are smart with their “refrigerator” reminds me of The Boxcar Children book I read as a kid where the older sister had a refrigerator behind a waterfall in a quiet pool of water where she kept milk (in the 5th chapter “housekeeping”) along with the other ingenious things they did. As for Art and Bri’s kids, and the even the Rhodes kids it’s nice to see them exploring and creating- a childhood I never had in the suburbs. Can’t wait to see how everything turns out here. Keep it up!

That's normal not to be able to see your feet while standing up when carrying twins by the time you are six months. Being out of breath is also normal as your organs are pushed up under the ribs age where your lungs are. Women's bodies are designed for this as out tolerance for pain. We all know if men had babies they would tell their guy friends and humanity would no longer exist! God is very wise.

The build on the root cellar is going so good...hope this energy spills over to the house. Is the trenching man coming back or is he finished already? Love to see Wilder in the garden with his mom...he is so serious about getting it in the ground and covered up. Love the camp site the boys made. Such fertile imaginations. This will be a memory when they are grown men, sitting around a family campfire on a Spring evening and saying, "do y'all remember the camp we had down by the river back in '22. Boy weren't they good times".

Bri, you are a truly special woman! Love the way you are with your children. Most of the pregnant women I have been around are always exhausted, and even on the grumpy side. LOL You are really a blessing! It is no wonder that you are tired, just think how hard your body is working right now. It is not just developing one baby, it is making two!! I just cannot imagine the amount of work your body is doing on a cellular level. There is probably no telling how many prayer lists you and yours are on at this moment, but now there is one more. Praying for your well being, energy, and strength to increase all through this blessed time of your life.

Art and Bri, I owe you both an apology. When I first started watching it was just before Art started working on the house. I know you were both down at the time and I was thinking y'all weren't very inspiring. I think I could see myself in Art when he talked about needing to get going on the house. Well, I hadn't watched your prior videos, and something kept me coming back once Art began to really work on the house. So happy for you and family - things are getting done - and I know you have some great mentors/friends in Justin and Rebecca. So glad I gave you a chance - y'all could work circles around me. God bless you all. And special blessings on Bri and the new babies.

Greetings from Ohio. A homesteader I watched a few years ago taught me how to hard boil fresh farm eggs. She had tried several different methods and this method turned out to be full proof. Hard boiled eggs will peel every time. She steamed the eggs. She put the eggs in a colander and placed the colander in a big pot. The eggs did not touch the water. She put a lid on the pot and steamed them for about 20 minutes, then put them in icewater. It has worked every time for me as well

    • @jenniferr2057

I do mine in water for 12 mins then in an ice bath for 2. The shell comes off easily and I use a spoon to pry it off.

      @StoneKathryn 3 роки тому

And you do this with farm fresh eggs? I have chickens and they are different from store bought. They stick to the frying pan easy and it is hard to peel them when you make boiled eggs.

I throw one cup of water and two dozen farm fresh eggs in my instant pot at 5 minutes high pressure 5 minutes naturally and then dump them in cold running water in the sink. The shell comes off in a couple of pieces under running water it just falls off in your hand.

Bri you are the best Mother! Loved when Wilder said about the plant, "It needs you". From the mouths of babes.

Something we did when building is write scripture on our blocks and foundation. In the cellar you could use scripture speaking of abundance and health. For instance in bedroom put healing and rest. Doorways to outside put may no evil spirit enter. I cant remember off top of head but I do have them written down and where they are. I truly believe it is of great benefit and brings peace to know they are there.

Raised beds look fancy but I love yours, can walk, and sit, and get closer to all the veg. The sound of the fall lettuce when you ran your hand over it, it 'sounds' delicious. God bless

Could the root cellar double as a tornado shelter? We've had catastrophic tornadoes in the past few years and I keep seeing a castle/shelter/root cellar. By the way, beautiful job!

They don't have tornados there so he couldn't say but I bet it could be a tornado shelter.

I am so excited for y’all! The root cellar is coming along & you are doing such an excellent job, Art!
And it is so good to see Bri doing what she loves being in her garden & her sweet smile! Then those precious kids with their tent & preparing their meal by the stream. I love that they are barefoot wading thru the water & playing in the dirt & having the best experiences a kid could have, in my opinion! Can’t wait for the next video!!! 💕🌺👒

I'd peak that roof .... it will give you the rafters to utilize, also for storage, and, you can collect the rain runoff for other uses ....... seriously .... but, your farm, your way.
