Why is this even a issue? This is between him and almighty God. Where the Lord guides, he also provides. I pray in the matchless name of Jesus. That the Lord would be glorified and use Marvin Sapp as a mighty instrument for his body. Just like the word reads, " No weapon formed against me, shall prosper, and for every TONGUE that rises up in judgement, shall be condemned. "
Maybe his spirit left his existing church and he’s following it. His body maybe waiting to catch up with his spirit .
I've been to his church in Grand Rapids. It looked to be about 65% of the church left. Maybe it was gradual after his wife passed. But it also seemed like people tried running the church instead of him and pushing their will and agenda. They lost the school they had as well. He was also paying for the mortgage and all church debt out of pocket and never requested a salary for pastoring over the church either. I think he carried it as far as it could go, but I think he may gave been drowning in debt that he took on for himself. It may have been too much for him. But he was a great pastor. A lot of people probably moved away...to take jobs outside of Grand Rapids. But he worked hard and I don't think he would've taken the job in Texas unless the Most High told him too.
I had to start a new life at 50 years old “I feel ya”- but GOD IS IN CONTROL- no matter what age

Why do pastors leave their church for bigger churches and call it a move of God? Marvin Sapp appeared to be looking for another BIGGER church for some time now. Interesting enough they have all been bigger. This new church in Fort Wayne is nice. Of course he applied for New Birth.. Now before you "FANS" reply and say "He can do what he wants and God can move..etc" Just remember when members leave a church for whatever reason, we preach 55 sermons on faithfulness and tell them "all that glitters ain't gold!" MAN PLEASE!
How do you leave a church you found? MAN PLEASE.. I wish one time, I just wish one time.........a preacher will be honest and say ~ "I want more money!"

@Heehaw Of course my brother, But my point was: We really shouldn't get so hung up these buildings...we are the church ..gong -we don't go to church per se.
So as the apostles did following Jesus' example we can meet and assemble and have corporate experiences in each other's homes as well as in open spaces [sermon in the mount etc..] instead of JUST in auditoriums and halls...The megachurch phenomenon is not the biblical pattern, Its there in Act 2. There are too many sheep and not enough practical shepherding and so, there tend to be lots of neglected sheep and many casualties AS WELL.
Anyways, just my thoughts.

@@1timetoliveright He did an interview with Fox Soul last week and he explained his decision to leave,he prayed about for 2 years.He said he was dying(spiritually) in Michigan.He was just going through the motions, on autopilot.He said he needed a fresh start, new beginning he needed to get out of his comfort zone for his sake and for the sake of his church(former).
@@yoco7290 Understood. Maybe I just like church order. If you are a pastor that was sent to a location by your pastor, should the relocation be a decision between both pastors or as a lone ranger? I just don't see Apostle Paul spiritual sons Timothy or Titus leaving a location they were sent to. They may set up other churches in their location but not uproot totally from an area and go elsewhere without some oversight from the one that sent you.

When God is in our decision makings he allows somethings to happen all for a reason he gives us the freedom to make our own choices and he has nothing to do with some of the choices that we make thats why it is so important that we make very sure that we keep him first in ALL I MEAN ALLLLLL THAT WE DO!!! Very interesting to do such a thing in these times. It's always best to go to the word of God for insight on all matters of life.
Two verses comes to mind: 1.1Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;.
2. Matthew 7:15-16 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16You will know them by their fruits.
Now I say that to say this, WATCH AND SEE, if pastor Sapp message of the gospel change, does he change? See the fruit he produces and you will know. God bless. And I'm not bashing him, we are to test ever spirit to see if they are from God, it is your responsibility to know what church you are in.

Faye Anderson i've heard that several times & saw it, the reason why u haven't seen it before is because the pastors that do this are not on tv, but sometimes u have to step out of the boat, Bishop Jakes started in W.Virginia with 100 members & didn't want to leave, going into the unfamiliar is a little scary, but if God told you & people want you to stay, who do you want to please & who do you obey??

Clothes are fabrics. I don't see anything wrong with the way his daughter('s) dress. We should seek the kingdom and not allow our spirits to be vexed by clothing or music. Charles Jenkins passed the torch to Reginald Sharpe in Chicago, of course Jamal Bryant taking over New Birth in Atlanta. It reminds me of Moses passing the torch to Joshua. I pray this is all the will of God and that they will all be Covered by God.
Happy - what does a 23 yo know about running a church? The human brain doesn’t fully develop until 21, so that is not right. Wisdom is the key...do most 23 year olds have wisdom?
@@jenpollard3962 You may be right. The only comfort I have at my church is that our Bishop is there everyday to cover him. Pastor and Bishop switch every other Sunday so it's a slow process and I must say so far so good.

Also you quoted an entire book, Ecclesiastes, but provided no supporting scriptures. There is no scripture reference in that book that God says enjoy ourselves. Ecc 7:14; maybe, but not really because that’s contrasts wisdom and foolishness; and Ecc 9:7-10 perhaps, but again this speaks of death. In addition enjoying ourselves does not permit submitting to sin.
Finally your comment loses all credibility when you use foul language. Ephesians 4:29 is very clear, “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” We are accountable for every idle word we speak. So please be careful with your words.
