Thanks for posting this video. Nicely done ! Being a BOSCH Dealer and selling laser levels we utilize video quite a bit to explain laser levels and how they are used.

Nice review. I really like the Top Con RL-H4C we have, well till now.
The real test is when a whirl wind blows the Lazer and tripod over and it still works.
    Top Con 1 Wind 0 .

Thats a nice laser, i really would like to have a new one also. I like the Autoalign. Just a tip for you, i use a traffic cone that sits by it self and has a hole on top where you can put the stick in with the receiver to stand by it self. :)
And if you have gradestakes you can clamp the stick to the gradestakes with a woodwork quickclamp. :)

thequattro20v Good ideas. I made a wooden support that is fairly compact, but wind is an issue.

1:50 ..I hope it turns on much less than within 30 minutes. Could be a serious production killer hahaha

Great video thanks for the content. I'm looking at getting into doing some small excavation work and I have learned a lot from your channel. I'm wanting to get a Bosch laser but also want to have a magnetic receiver for grading with a mini ex. I cannot find a Bosch magnetic receiver does your Topcon magnetic receiver work with the Bosch laser? Thanks

Hi, I am trying to decide between GRL 300 HVCK and GRL 500 HV. The difference in working range (1,000 versus 1,650) is not that important for me. What s more important is if they can help me align and plumb fence posts on a sloping lot. How does the slope feature on the GRL 500 help in this case? would it give a laser line that is sloped in the direction i want to have the posts?Does GRL 300 have that slope adjustment feature? Thank you

Hey, nice video as usual. Just wondering if this kit can be bought with the magnetic receiver that you can stick on the excavator stick.

+Newfiestang50 No it cant be bought with one but any other brand magnetic receiver should work with it

Amazing that America is still using such a crude scale as feet and inches in the 21st century, I mean surely the accuracy of metres, centimetres and millimetres has obvious attractions for those in the building or manufacturing trades?

How do you use the cross laser level on the roof pitch 12 12 so that you can put your metal roof panels on straight? the line goes left or right nephew go off center. How do you know where center is to begin with?

    • @PookieBearsChannel
      @PookieBearsChannel 5 років тому

The beautiful thing about metal roofing is how easy it is to install! Make sure you have the same amount of overlap over the Facia board all the way down the panel of metal, after you double check that, screw it down, and the rest of the panels will overlap 1 rib with the piece installed before. No laser needed, just a tape measure.

If it's like other Bosch lasers, just hold the power button when you turn it on until the screen changes to mode selection (3 seconds ish).

When you set the slope manually, Say 4% does it have to be pointed perfectly in the direction of the slope or can you have it find the receiver to centerline at the 4%?
If I have to point the transit in the direction of the slope this could be inaccurate if I’m eyeballing it 500’ away..

returned mine after one day, sadly as an old school concrete guy I just want to turn my laser on and get going. has to many buttons to push , which to me is more room for error, also I'm already so dam busy as it is that I really disliked that it only works by charging, sometimes there is no power on our sites for weeks and last thing I need is to forget to charge. Bosch is a great company, but sorry guys this is a bad design, you need to get out of the lab every now and then.

Get a small 12V to 120V inverter for your car, that way you can charge small things off grid using your car battery when you are in a bind.
