I don’t think people understand what he’s saying. Up to now he never told anyone to not buy any private vehicles! He’s simply just addressing an issue. Let me explain it for ya’ll..
If we improve our roads and public transportation, the easier it would be on everyone including people with private vehicles because some people only buy private vehicles because the public transportation is not good and the roads are bad etc
Also instead of going and buy a vehicle for 80k and still have to be stuck in traffic, pay insurance, buy tires, etc and might even crash you can take that money & buy a house instead . If you have the money to buy a private vehicle then go ahead. If you rather a private vehicle then go ahead. No one is stopping you. But there are people out here forcing themselves to buy a private vehicle simply because the public transportation is not up to par & they’re struggling to eat at home or even buy a house for that matter. More people would use public transport if it was up to par. I know I would. In “ foreign “ you will be waiting hours in traffic in a private vehicle but buses have their own lane so most times you reach faster if you take the bus or a train.
He’s not telling y’all to stop buying private vehicles.. he’s simply just saying the better the public transportation & bigger roads etc is the more money you would save & less private vehicles have to be bought which means less traffic, less money spending, & more efficiency with the road networks.
Which CURRENTLY there are too much private vehicles on the road for our road infrastructure which is TRUE! He didn’t talk one single lie. How people have private vehicles and still waiting hours to drop their kid to school?
Bus & private vehicle moving same speed in Grenada.
I think some of ya’ll Grenadians are just afraid of change. Ya’ll want the island to stay slow & lame while everybody else around the world and in the Caribbean upgrading.. 🤦🏽‍♂️

    A Private vehicle saves time.
All the points mentioned above is a part of owning a vehicle.
If the PM is against it, the let him lead by example.

What policy can the government put to help businesses, farmers, fishermen etc. to improve their form of transportation and livelihood? Do they get concessions, or even discounts to trade in their old vehicles for new ones?

Sounds most like Communism.. while he has sometimes 3 or 4 vehicles traveling him only from point A to B.....why don't you put a 2 year band on private vehicles importation..widen roads etc

I support what you are saying.
Put a band on private vehicles importation for one year to two years.
Let's fix up the roads and what else is needed for a better road use and to accommodate more vehicles.
      First and foremost

There are two Grenada on mainland Grenada. What the Prime Mikuster is saying is unfair to outer parishes citizens.
The southern parts of Grenada is totally different from the other areas in Grenada.
The Prime Minister must be listening to his advisors from the southern parts of Grenada, who doesn't know about the entire country.

A more reliable transportation network will reduce the need for more private vehicles. But until that is in place, the need for private will remain high. We also need to look at alternative routes for heavily trafficking areas.

He is incharge and he decides what goes on in the country. Tell the foreigners stop renting vehicles in Grenada. We don't have road for so much cars. Let's go back to donkey carts. The Royals travel in horse and carriage.

Time to address that long arising ! Buy prooerty, (land). Why is it used cars resale price, not considered depreciation.situation. Population is about 100,000, and motor vehicle is 60, 000. What a nonsensical ratio, when comparing population, verses amount of. cars ? Time to always look at statictis!

Invest your money, you might be able to buy the company that is making the vehicle, get your priority straight, vehicle is a liability and it depreciates in value, i rather walk until i can buy the company that is making the vehice, i don't like to be at the consumer End of the food chain?

Please brother you have yours and other want to have as well but the points making here is a bit pointless plenty vehicles and no road is the real challenge lack of bus routes and busses at the same time the banks are killing you cause quick to give a loan for a vehicle but not for a home why is that mr pm why foreigners can come and start. Business easier than a normal local person and here is that fair there’s so much I can touch on brothers get out of the office and have a drive around and see for yourself

Limiting the number of cars on the island is a normal thing there are ways to go about this put an age limit on the vehicle you can import...increase the duties on the vehicle imported into the island....
