Yess, thank you Tati for mentioning that meditation isn't for everyone. Its one of the number one things that people recommend for anxiety and it doesn't always work and I think some people get very frustrated when it doesn't, but it doesn't mean it has to. You just gotta keep trying to find the one thing that does.
It is actually something you have to practice. People think it comes easy for those who medidate, but it is quite the opposite for many. It took me months to do it correctly, to clear my brain, to hush the anxiety ridden thoughts, just like Tati mentioned. But that is the point. You are training your brain. Think of it like a deep clean for your brain. But alas, just might not be for everyone 😉
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and I never once learned that meditation is a way to deal with your anxiety. I also have dealt with anxiety myself. It's vital to find out what exactly is the root cause of it and the best way to find that out is by going to therapy. I also recommend an easy and amazing workbook called mind over mood. It's extremely well known in the field of psychology and psychotherapy. And to be honest, what helped me the most, was going go to therapy, working through my issues by digging into my past and my hurts, finding ways to cope with my anxiety while I was getting better, and God. He gave me peace in the darkness that is anxiety. I pray that everyone who has this awful mental disability, will have peace in your life. 🙏🏼
When you started talking about the peace that doing your makeup brings you, I felt that. I got into makeup because it was the only thing that calmed my anxiety, and still does. It gives me something to focus on when I have a million and one things going through my head. Makeup is not just a hobby for me. It's my therapy.

I'm lucky to not have dark circles or wrinkles yet but still it sucks not being able to use all of the beautiful concealers on the market now!

Tati, i like it better when you explain the different shadows and steps you use to do your eyeshadow look. It has helped me as a beginner know how to shape my eyes and how to use different colors in different areas to accent certain things. I have hooded eyes and its so helpful when you explain everything out.

I totally agree about meditating, my mind is too busy. My makeup meditation is doing my nails! People sometimes make fun of me ("You have a new nail color every day"), but it seriously calms me down and gives me a chance to shut my brain off for a while. I completely get it and I'm glad someone else feels the same way!

Makeup has been my art therapy for over a year now. It has easier set up and clean up then any type of paint, which was what I was doing. Makeup is a type of art!!!
She doesn’t have someone to zoom in for her, so it makes it more time consuming to get up zoom it in sit back down make sure shes in the frame correctly, etc

Exactly. If this is someone's job, I kinda feel like u less they have something going on, that they should have some sort of schedule and post regularly.
I also deal with anxiety issues (and left-overs from PTSD). I studied art and was prevented from completing my program. I often think about how doing my makeup in the morning is so intensely relaxing for me. It takes me a long time to wake, and the makeup process is indeed a healing time. Glad I am not the only one. Maybe we need to start a therapy.
My therapist used to tell me to find a “flow activity” like hula hooping, cleaning, walking, etc. Something that you can do that takes minimal effort and mental energy and is just flowy so that your brain can process things. Sounds like doing your makeup is your form of meditation. It’s your flow activity.

The way you feel about the way makeup relaxes you is exactly how I feel about it and nobody in my world understands and makes me feel crazy and obsessive about it. It's absolutely therapeutic for me and it's nice and comforting to know that someone else out there feels the way I do about it.

I love the idea of more detailed videos from you, plus if someone wants to skip through something they can just skip it themselves. I do it all the time on all kinds of videos, but if I’m trying something new or trying to recreate a look it’s so helpful to have a step by step guide :)
My makeup meditation is doing my nails! People sometimes make fun of me ("You have a new nail color every day"), but it seriously calms me down and gives me a chance to shut my brain off for a while. I completely get it and I'm glad someone else feels the same way!

Makeup has been my art therapy for over a year now. It has easier set up and clean up then any type of paint, which was what I was doing. Makeup is a type of art!!!

I also deal with anxiety issues (and left-overs from PTSD). I studied art and was prevented from completing my program. I often think about how doing my makeup in the morning is so intensely relaxing for me. It takes me a long time to wake, and the makeup process is indeed a healing time. Glad I am not the only one. Maybe we need to start a therapy.
My therapist used to tell me to find a “flow activity” like hula hooping, cleaning, walking, etc. Something that you can do that takes minimal effort and mental energy and is just flowy so that your brain can process things. Sounds like doing your makeup is your form of meditation. It’s your flow activity.

Gorgeous Tati, not too much at all! I agree with you, makeup is meditative/therapeutic to me. I suffer anxiety as well, and let me tell you, I cannot wait to do a full face makeup everyday! I can’t believe how much I look forward to it and enjoy it. It’s that creative space, being of no mind and people need to find theirs. For some it’s cooking, gardening, drawing, painting, crafting, etc. Thank you for speaking about it 💕💕💕

I love when you explain where you put your eyeshadow colors as you layer them on. You don’t have to in every video, but I definitely think it helps me when I’m getting ready in the morning to think back to “Oh! Tati said she does it this way, I want to try that!”

I can totally identify with make up being your form of meditation. Its is my escape as well... its changed my life in so many ways. I went from serious depression, ptsd and anxiety to feeling so much better just from escaping thru make up.
