Eastman Guitars has a few new models added to their line with the addition of the ER4 and AR603 CE15. The AR603 CE15 is a little bit smaller in size but still retains that archtop tone and sensibility. The ER4 has a radical new design that sure to turn heads, but it's got a great articulate voice that's got tons of authoritative mid-range but still has a nice high-end bite to it. I started the video thinking I'd greatly prefer the sound of the ER4, but the Ar603CE absolutely sang to me. Both great sounding guitars, though. Would be happy with either.

What's happening to Martin, Gibson, etc. is the same thing that happened to Ford, GM, and Chrysler in the sixties. The Japanese made better cars! It took a while, but they eventually put the US car makers in the rear view mirror. Now the Japanese, Chinese, and other Asian Guitar makers are doing the same thing that the automobile makers did. They are simply making a superior product than their American rivals, and selling them for a lot less money.
