First method that actually worked after about 10 smoking heli wrecks and another 15 smouldering piles of boat on a cliff. This one worked first time, with smoke only once I got to the very bottom flat bit, which wasnt problematic. Now I can finally 5-gear those races. Thank you so much for this.
I'm glad it worked out! contrary to what others are saying, I used the X7 for every boat race since there were actually a couple that I couldn't 5 gear otherwise. Besides, I'd rather crush the required time by several seconds than barely make it with fractions of a second to spare.
+Dylan Wintle you don't need the squalo to get 5 gears on the races I mean hell most of em you can get 4 gears on...unlock nitrous...unlock nitrous 2...do it with default boat
They are just like all trees though, just go a 1/2 mile away and they respawn. So do bridges. Pedestrians will respawn randomly at about 1/5 of a mile. Just like real life!

Protip: You can also do this by using the Mechs from the Second DLC to pick up and carry the boats this same route down to the water and pressing the drop button to drop it in.

After 2 hours of pain, I finally got the boat in the drop. Thank you. I couldn't find the last scrap challenge to get the final tether strength. I tried grappling it on land (Not recommended) but found this video and it bloody worked. Thanks my dude :D

This is pretty fucking brilliant! It never occurred to me that getting INSIDE the boat while it was sliding would stop it from self-destructing... I'd get it tethered out and along but it would wreck without a pilot... Of course!... You're brilliant!
It’s because the fucktard developers intentionally made it so that once the boat passes a certain point it sets on fire. I literally airlifted the boat to the water and dropped it in from 10 m high and it set on fire once it entered the water.
I did not watch your entire video the 1st time and went to those other cliffs and kaboom 2 times before I realized you found a nicer way! Those cliffs were harsh!
i could even collect it with a heli. even with all cable upgrades. it still breaks off. plus the boat it stupid. waaaay to heavy and with the dlc it become useless

You are supposed to stop against that big rock halfway down, but the first time I went past it and went downhill too fast causing my boat to catch fire. The second time I got it in the water unscathed.

This worked extremely well for me! I haven't been able to upgrade my tethers at all so I needed both tethers to actually make the boat move on land. Also I couldn't avoid the big rock but my boat was upside down the entire mountain slide down so I just kind of skid over it. But other than that, it worked! I have the boat in my collection. I managed to get it downhill and into the water first time with your method...but when i wanted to click waypoint to garage, I hit fast travel it was gone! I tried lots of times and it just kept exploding, tried the mech but couldn't be bother anymore, so I got a trainer and managed to get into one piece into the "garage". Thanks mate.
Thanks man for posting this! I was so frustrated that I almost drug it manually from that other lake to Libecchio. (It blew up not far from there). I did exactly what you did only somehow I must've gone down smoother since it wasn't even smoking when I hit the bottom! I drove all the way to Baia and unlocked it with no problems. Thanks again!

This way was so painless and fun it's like going on a very expensive slegh ride. thank god the developers of this game made this boat extremely durable, as it can take out any tree or rock without fear of exploding.
+Joel Thomas unfortunately, the only advice I can offer is the following: 1. vehicles take WAAAAAY more damage when Rico isn't comandeering them. Every tree and rock you hit while roof surfing is detrimental to the boat's health. It may slow down the process, but jumping into the boat after every tether drag might be the difference between smoking and burning at the bottom. It should also go without saying, but don't just drag it through any traffic on the road you have to cross. Take the time to get any cars out of the way, since vehicular contact seems to do insane amounts of damage. 2. You can always use your roof surfing time to use a grenade launcher to clear out as many trees as possible during the start of your descent. I would do this before getting off the road, since that little patch before the hill is super dense, and then if you happen to collide with the giant rock about halfway down, hop out and blow some more trees out of your way before continuing on. I wish there was more tips I could offer, but Avalanche Studios really made it a pain in the ass to get this stupid boat.
+David Baji or simply attach all 6 of your available ropes to the largest helicopter you have available in your rebel drop list, it literally takes 2 minutes to get your boat to the ocean

I'd tried dragging it directly along the roads, but cars got in the way and it exploded (many times). I'd tried ramping it off the cliffs into the sea, but again it exploded. I even tried loading it into the massive cargo plane and flying it the rest of the way, but the boat got trapped in the cargo hold of the plain and both of them exploded when I tried to get it out. And finally I tried this... and on the second try... it worked... THANK YOU!

I remember dragging it into a cargo plane and flying off (taking out half the forest in the process) then flying just above the ocean, I opened the cargo bay flying straight up, quickly getting into the boat and dropping myself into the ocean without the boat blowing up. Only thing I remember after that is watching the cargo plane fly away over the endless sea...

One of the most ridiculous things but I got the boat to harbor and the achievement popped for collecting all vehicles, so I guess it was worth the trouble.
This is one of the most aggravating, irritating, and stupid in games I have ever had to deal with. I’ve basically given up. I try with a helicopter and the helicopter doesn’t want to sit still to let me tether it right. And my frist try I dropped it over water and it just sank like it’s a submarine

I tried using the helicopter method at least 3 dozen times to get this boat, I tried this method once and got it to the ocean on my first try.
Worked 1st try. After so many heli fails, i finally got it!
One of the most ridiculous things but I got the boat to harbor and the achievement popped for collecting all vehicles, so I guess it was worth the trouble.
This is one of the most aggravating, irritating, and stupid in games I have ever had to deal with. I’ve basically given up. I try with a helicopter and the helicopter doesn’t want to sit still to let me tether it right. And my frist try I dropped it over water and it just sank like it’s a submarine
