Deep emotion & drama in both spirituals & operatic arias cause us to think of them in the same way - depth of emotional feelings in both are similar...this just my own feelings about the two - Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel - The Habanera are good examples....

Rest in peace!! what a magnificent woman, with a magnificent voice. Her voice was nothing like these modern operatic shallow underdeveloped phonies, true legend!!!! What a loss to this world!! She'll live on forever in the hearts of those who truly appreciate incredible singing!
