Girl, I remember I have watched your old videos 1 or 2 years ago because I remember I've seen your face. Currently, I'm working from home (1 year already) and UA-cam is saving my life. I miss talking with my friends at work and now I just watch tv shows and dramas and people like you. :) You have such interesting stories or maybe you are a good storyteller. I am sick of working home alone, but this is the situation right now and we have to accept it. So thank you for helping me go through my lonely workdays.

You poor girl! I can’t imagine going through all of that outside of your home country.
I’ve also watched UA-cam videos where people have spoken about hair loss and getting rashes in Korea. It actually is related to the water and putting a filter device solves the issue.
So glad that you were able to dodge the cult people. In my experience, whenever anyone starts talking about Jesus it’s time to run! 🏃‍♀️

So is it hard water or is there something added to the water that foreigners aren’t used to?

I’m from the north east of the United States, and every time I visit my family in the south I get terrible rashes. No clue why. 🤷🏻‍♀️

2:49 I live in Turkey and believe me they probably didn’t mean it that way.Its actually a part of their culture where they offer you something 24/7 and call you ‘My love’, cause on Turkish it sounds normal, they just do not know how to say it in English in a correct way. Please don’t be creeped out by it in a hotel or a shop.I was disturbed by it too when I just moved in Turkey like 4 years ago :) Please don’t misunderstand it as a harassment👀

when i first moved to argentina from the U.S., my hair started falling out and I also got rashes! it was pretty common among foreigners and the culprit was most likely super chlorinated water. maybe that's what happened to you?

I don't mean to laugh, but.... ha ha ha ha
MY LIFE EXACTLY WEEK ONE IN KOREA!!! ha ha ha It was a f*king mess!!!
    1. Hair fell out like mad!! I contributed it to stress
    2. Got to my AirBNB only to have it occupied by someone else. Thank God my host had another room for me to stay in.
    3. My place (EPIK apartment) was COVERED in mold! I was up till 3 AM cleaning it AND had to go to work the next day by 8 AM
    4. Got kicked off a bus in the MIDDLE of NOWHERE by the bus driver. Still don't know why! lol (still laugh about it to this day)
    5. Slept on the WORST BED EVER. The wood floor was more comfortable! (And no bedding to boot..Not even a blanket) So I had to use my coat for a blanket.
Needles to say, it was complete shit! But I miss Korea so much! Worst mistake was leaving a job and kids I loved.

    • @annienova

I absolutely loved this video. I’ve never heard of most of the things you mentioned and people only show their good times in Korea, which I can understand. I want to study abroad in Korea, so this was really useful :) I’m really concerned about the hair loss and hives because I have sensitive skin, do you think there would be anything to prevent this ??

Oh my, your story in regards to landing at midnight/trains finished/chasing a coach down is identical to my story, but I had landed in Rome. However, my flight was diverted to the outskirts airport and the train station I ended up at was the scariest place I have ever been (the gangs were out at that point). If I hadn’t found the one guard closing the train gates (I’ll never forget his eyes bulging in fear when he saw me), like your helper, who knows what would of happened to me. But I also had to chase the last coach that was following the train line as well, but with my suit case dragging behind me.

A lot of times when women trying to tell a story and if especially they had a lot of those stories people usually start victim blaming and saying that that woman must be the fault of it cause that’s why it always happens to her. That’s also why many women dare not to speak up anymore. Because a lot of times we are not taken serious and nothing got done about it and we just need to s it up
    And just got judged

My friends and I were planning a trip to South Korea for the summer of 2022. We didn’t want to share a hotel room so we considered a goshitel. Do you have any recommendations of nice goshitels fo us to consider?

    • @annienova
      @annienova  3 роки тому +4

They’re all kind of the same but I would definitely recommend getting a goshitel with an en-suite so you’re not sharing a bathroom with a bunch of strangers 😂 hongdae are is good since it’s the student area and a lot of students use goshitels

This sounds like me when I was traveling alone in Madrid some grown men kept asking me to split a taxi with them and they were so persistent I was like nooooo
Also first time I traveled alone internationally I was stuck outside. Closed airport after closing hours with no way to my hostel
Another time, I flew to Rome and had no phone service because I’m dumb and didn’t know how to activate it and I missed my train and couldn’t contact anyone I was also really sick and over packed my luggage had to keep asking strangers for a hotspot
