Why Should ANYONE Get Mad?? It's Your Kit, Your Detailup Kit, Your Time,,,OOOHHH And Your Channel. Thanks For Sharing Your Knowledge and Experience With Us. Have a Blessed Labor Day & Week.
If I was building this kit I'd have thrown in the towel already and it would go in the basement with the other models I have either started and not finished or bought and never started. You do amazing work
I will install my photo etched seatbelt. I've just ordered a Scale production detail kit. Not cheap but it will really help to detail a lots of the car. Thanks for showing this on UA-cam!!!
your work is phenomenal big guy! If anyone should happen to give you a hard time for not adding the seat belt add ons, i wouldn't pay attention to that! you keep doing what you do cause we all have been learning from you!! I definitely have in the few weeks I've been building again. Thx for your time!
Totally understand about the seat belts. So many decals! It is nice so many decals were included with the kit as the end result looks pretty good. Especially that dash.
Phil Flory has just sorted out some aircraft seat belt decals by applying them to some foil used for wine bottle top wrap then cutting them out and using as per etch belts. The foil is very soft so can be made to conform to any shape you wish. The results were very convincing.
“Over it”...... words I’ve said more times I care to admit to while building. Sometimes you get bored and just want to move on. That’s what happened to my return to this hobby Toyota 4X4..... literal comedy of errors.... just finished it to the best of my abilities, didn’t bother with decals and moved on to a Hasegawa egg space shuttle, which actually turned out pretty well due to the lessons learned from the Toyota. That being said, this GT is looking great!
Given the circumstances, I'd have done what you did too. :) However, I must admit I hadn't thought of doing things with tape etc to add some depth. That's one I'll file for use next time.
I built this kit a few months ago, once finished, the window openings are so tiny that you can barely see the interior at all! It's a nice kit, but the fit on the roll cage was my biggest gripe with it, turns into a nice model though.
Im going to have to call b.s. and call this "movie magic" as there is simply no way you can get this level of awesome from something Revell produced lol. All jokes aside, you're really doing a stand up job with this and making me want to try another plunge into Revell. Maybe my luck will be better outside military and aviation models.
How do you get the decals to form? Like on the steering wheel and dash? Is there a liquid softener of some sort? I know this is an older build but any reply would be appreciated. Love your videos! I use them as a sort of class and reference on my builds. So thank you!
Something I do if I can't be bothered making 'proper' seat belts is to carefully cut out the kit decals leaving them on the backing paper, colour in the edges with a felt pen and then glue them to the seat. This gives them a bit more of a realistic thickness and lets them hang on the seat better.
Hey Tom.. I always feel bad about asking too many questions but then I was watching your Ferrari Maranello build from years ago, you said you actually really enjoy replying and teaching other people so I hope that is still the case and hope you don't mind what might seem like yet another silly question. Where do you rest your models after the final clear coat to minimize the dust getting into them? My paint jobs are getting killed by dust and dirt as they sit and flash off the final clear for 3 or 4 days.. I put a ton of work into getting to that point, and when I finish the last clear they look pretty damn good, only to be ruined after the final 3 or 4 days of rest.. Any info helps so thanks in advance....
@@TheScalemodelingChannel Im having a lot of problems with my paint jobs and just dont know why. I have an Iwata HP-CS and I use it on 25 PSI.. I don't think I am too far or too close with the airbrush.. I prime and paint with all Zero stuff, the same as you Tom.. I wait at least 5-10 mins between coats, start with a very light dust coat and build up from there.. I seem to be okay until I put the clear on but I use the same config you show, 5ml, 2.5ml, .5ml, I clean and sand before anything...The only thing I dont have is a retail spray booth but I dont seem to have issues until the model sits and dries.. Sooooo frustrating after so much work..I know you have a lot more experience and skill but my initial results just dont look anywhere near yours and I just cant figure it out...
I'd have done the same. As you pointed out, not much of the interior can be seen once built so why waste time super detailing something that won't be seen. Plus it's your model and if you think it's right, then it is right
About the seat belts I like to use soldering wick to fake them under the decal but I think it would not work in this case because the seat belt have a peculiar shape; anyway, check out this video at 3 : 41 to see what I'm talking about: ua-cam.com/video/chniF5x-U-0/v-deo.html
That's one hell of details on the decals. It still looks excellent.

I would have done it the same, can't wait for the next step! please keep these video builds coming.

You do amazing work
Love all you videos, I got some great tips from them. Keep filming I'll keep watching.
Always great work! Not mad about the seatbelts because we all know your builds are proper with or without detail sets.
Make it all yours that's my motto sometimes we get all wrapped up in what we should've or shouldn't do just build for the fun experience 😎

I’d have done the same thing. After seeing the stills you showed, and your explanation, I say it looks fantastic
Could've glued the seatbelt parts into the seat over the decals maybe? Just to add a bit of texture
Nice! I putted carbon-decals on the two little airboxes at the engine. Looks good.
Lovely detailing on the engine. Luvin your work
Awesome details on the interior !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't have this kit but after seeing yours I want one along with the Scale Motorsports detail set......Thanks........I'll be watching
nice video and no problem for the seatbelt the build is nice like this

I wish Phil would spend some time doing cars. Gonna let my membership lapse this time I think.

Beautiful as usual.

Hey Tom.. Is there anything that will strip Zero paints without destroying the plastic??
How about using a masking tape to give the decal some depth? nonetheless good job, it's your model and your decision
Lovely videos
I have built this model and you are right you see very little of the interior details .

I use micro scale industries decal SET and SOL, these are decal softening solutions
Sehr cool 😎 ich habe mir den jetzt auch gekauft💪🏻
Which do you think is better on decals, tamiya 's mark fit strong or solve set
Excelent Video
tomorrow or the day after tomorrow new video right? I hope you upload video
Incredible work! How many hours did you have into this segment? It would be 40 hours for me. My hands are to big to do some of this fine detail work.

in the spray booth, though the clear i use is pretty much dust free after 30 minutes, and can be handled the next day.

Gareth Murphy try thicker coats for the clear. And less hardner
very nice
Verry beautiful
Love your videos. Be awesome if you could a 96-98 mustang.
This is funny I just started on the same build.

Wow

Ziet er top uit hoor. En die gordels is toch zo erg niet. Je ziet er toch niks meer van. Had jijgeen problemen met de bouw van de rolkooi
I hate seat belts.
