    Next time, no sous vide, mash the brats and beerify the water (for a horrible oily mess)! Looked like a great way to get 'em done! Cheers Larry!

      Turned out to be the best way I’ve ever cooked brats. This is my go to method time permitting.

    I buy hamburger in bulk from my meat store and flash freeze the patties on cookie trays and transfer to gallon ziplocks until I'm ready to vacuum seal, Sous vide to perfection and enjoy. The brats will package better if mostly frozen, I also poke them with a knife so that they don't turn into grease grenade when you cook them. Don't worry they still get to cook in juice in the bag so they're not dry.

      Not yet although I have considered it. I would miss the smoke flavor and bark.

    We have a serious issue with phalates in our food (leading to low sperm count, etc), please avoid foods in plastic, especially boiling them!

      Well then it’s a good thing these aren’t boiled!

      It’s my new preferred way to cook brats although next time I won’t need such a large vessel. lol
