I like seeing the sewing on the other sides, it looks handmade and I always leave it, don't cover! It would make a good frame for a picture or a divider for journaling! Very pretty!
That turned out great! I love the scarf through out. My fav use was on the huge tag at the end with the scarf. I love texture, so I bet that tag is fun lol
Love a good junk journal flip through. I'm based in England so we don't have Dollar Tree, but I think I've done an ok job with my latest journal (uploaded yesterday). I've actually done a Christmas one....yes I know it's only August but I absolutely love Christmas crafting and I just had to share some of my passion. Thanks very much for sharing your yours. Hugs, Joie de fi ❣️😁👍
Hi, I just discovered your videos and I am thinking of making one of these journals, too. How are you attaching the signatures? You mentioned hidden seam binding...do you have a tutorial on that? I love the way your journal came out...I saw the dollar tree haul for the materials for it and I love how you did the cover.
Cathe Barron yay so glad you found me!! ❤️❤️ I don’t have a video on the hidden binding . I could make one this summer. (As soon as school gets out). I used waxed thread. You can buy it on amazon, or Joann’s. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! It’s the end of the school year and it’s been crazy. I live in Arizona and we just finished a 6 day walkout. (Strike) so my UA-cam channel has taken a backseat. :( however, school is almost out and I’m very excited to getting back to making videos!!
You did a great job, so pretty. I'm going to buy a sewing machine and I'm starting to learn to sew. How to you sew that little crunch up ribbon. It's so pretty and really makes the paige
Kandy Estrada I am getting faster .. however it still takes a long time. I’m working on a set of 6 journals right now and it’s taking forever. I have figured out my “stages” first I find my paper , ie: music sheets , retro recipe pages, etc. then cut them. Then sew lace and extras. Then I work on the cover, bind the book then make embellishments and tags to go in the book last.
This is not meant as a negative but a question of understanding. What is the purpose of a junk journal? I don’t get it. To do artwork or to write why not a journal? I don’t understand.
Granny Jan so a Junk Journal can be an art journal , or a memory keeping journal . I think it evolved from scrapbooking and smash books, mini albums etc. there are many styles of junk journals. Ones that just use recycled , vintage and retro materials. Check out Rebookery on UA-cam, there are others who make the entire book from scratch such as Nik the Booksmith, others who are masters of lace and coffee dye, check out Yvonne Preston, others who are super innovative and use their journal to express there love of music , check out Pink Odd Bird. Really it’s another craft , form of art that allows people to express themselves, some use the journal for memory keeping , some use it as a coffee table discussion piece. It simple depends on the person. This journal here was part of a challenge. :) I hope this helps. Don’t worry your question was not taken negatively I get asked this all the time , even by my own mother . ☺️
You’re very creative. Like what you did with the scarf!

How long does it typically take you to finish a junk journal?
