I only passed mine 2 weeks ago in 15 years registered Your advices and tips were the best Dave I was short of time for the last 15 questions but because all other questions were 100% correct, it helped to get through thank you The best electrical education channel it’s here
Well done and thanks for the accolade, but its you that's done the hard work. Be proud. Keep learning its a great trade to be in and do tell others about the channel, they may need the same help. Dave.
This is for up to 400 volts with reference to earth, industrial work. Domestically, you shouldn't need that part. Don't get confused with three phase electricity where we can have 400 volts across phases. This is not T41.1
Hi, new subscriber here. Could I ask , is there update course available from the ‘Blue’ book to the ‘brown’ book . Or do you have to take the full course now. Thanks
There is no update exam. BUT ... if you already have 18th Edition on the Blue Book, you do not need to re-sit the exam for the Amendment 2 Brown Book. It is assumed by the exam body that your knowledge of the blue book can be easily transferred to the brown book changes. One good way to "catch up" is to watch the videos we made, as here. Hope this helps, no re-sit needed. Dave.
Another top video, thankyou. Can I just ask then in reference to this when completing a certificate and it asks for the tabulated max Zs before your actual test reading, I’m assuming they want the max reading from the tables in 7671 and not the tables in the OSG?
Yes, tabulated is out of the Wiring Regs book. However I always write 80% in the top of column 12 on the schedule of circuit details, then write in the maximum permitted according to the OSG. That way, when I complete column 27 on schedule of test results, I can make a direct comparison. Anyone that knows what's-what when reading my paperwork will know what I have done. Hope this makes sense. This way you are not misleading anybody. Dave.
@@learnelectrics4402 thanks Dave I was taught to think that when tabulated is stated that it was in reference to any information in a table but obviously the info in the OSG is in a table hence my confusion as to which tabulated information the certificate required. In any case you have confirmed it’s 7671 table we are referring to 👍🏼
I'm currently studying electrical level 3. I must admit that these are the best videos on UA-cam. Sometimes it's hard to navigate between videos. Is it possible to sort them into playlists?
I must do this, great idea. If you go to LearnElectrics.com and put Amendment 2 into the search box, you will get a list of relevant links direct to the videos. Thanks for watching. Dave.
Hi Dave, great video but I got CONFUSED by your stating that a LESS THAN () symbol:- To me it looks as if you got a bit mixed up there on that particular point??? (Go from the 4.14 segment in your video, up to the 4.30 mark, and you should be able to see what I mean, and then be able to tell me if I am correct to be confused by this or not?
If you are working as an electrician, industrial, commercial or domestic, you will be expected to take the BS7671 Wiring Regs exam. Some employers will not take you on the books without the qualification. For this you will need the BS7671 Wiring Regulations book. Currently the brown Amendment 2 book, and then print off the Amendment 3 supplement free of charge to make it Amendment 3 compliant. See the link at the bottom for Amendment 3 info. As to which books for panel wiring, the training centre should tell you which books they recommend. Thanks for watching. Yr videos are so much better than the courses in colleges
That's good to know. Spread the word about the channel with your college buddies, they may help them too.

The video is correct Gary. The symbol you refer to shows that it is less than on the left side and greater than on the right side.
Hi Great video can you please make some revision videos for the other exams such as building regs and pat testing, would be greatly appreciated.
Good suggestion. Its on the list. Dave.
What is the difference between distribution circuit table and final circuit one please?
TIA
Take a look at this video on the difference. Thanks for watching. Dave.
